I think you have the brackets backward and the two "raised" holes go one the backs of the pillion mounts....ANYONE?
-
I had one on my Scura when I bought it but removed it and honestly I cant remember how it was mounted but I know it was NOT like that.....I don't think your missing anything but the proper fastners..Hopefully some of the others who have mounted tis type of rack will chime in ...

As of last week I hear he is having some serious health issues at the moment..I don't know him personally, but people I do know well do know him personally and say he is a good guy and as you said funny as as hell, (as is my friend in a self deprecating brit way) ....I enjoy his shows...and appreciate his guitar skills ( being a Brit of course he loves old brit bikes ) -

My Father in law ( RIP) had an antique Art and collectables store in SF for years...When my wife would ask how much something was worth..he would say..its worth whatever its worth to you? How much do you have ? How bad do you want it? I always kind of go by that..How much do I have? and How bad do I want it?..that is really all that matters.

A few of my distant family members have had it, none died but a couple of them came very close.I'm still waiting to get my first shot, I scheduled it over 8 weeks ago but March 10th was the soonest I could get..My wife, my youngest Son and I don't go out except to the grocery store or an occasional ride/drive and long early morning walks 4-5 days per week, We always mask up around anyone outside of our 3 way circle and have since last March 13th, We are fine with that,We DON'T WANT IT! I've got my 70th coming up next year,,,I want to go back to Italy and ride next year. I do miss seeing friends, and riding to the local hang outs in the mountains. All of this is just a minor inconvenience in the overall scheme of things in my opinion....We enjoy our home, we enjoy each others company and I have plenty of time to tinker in the shop,I can get any parts I need online fairly fast, my Wife has a awesome job in tech that hasn't been affected at all by having a home office, and she has become an outstanding baker and Chief and gardener, We both like gardening. Things will be much better...life will go on....Happy to be here!!

I'm sorry for your traumatic experience, could take years of therapy to put that behind you - especially if you find yourself shopping for dew rags online. I read this today in a local SF forum... "My dad used to own a Buell, until one day when he accidentally left his garage open overnight. Now he owns three".
