  1. Thanks Phil, arrived in Australia yesterday.
  2. Yes youre right. I now have one on these in the 5 3/4 versions for two bikes and this one for my Guzzi which is 8inch across for a 7inch Headlight. The problem is that some of the LED headlights fit in to the shells of the current headlights, but the look so nice open its a shame to hide them in the shell, let alone heat or wanting a change in colour of the shell. Of course the main reason is that these look (IMHO) much nicer and solid than the chrome shells.
  3. Wahoo.. Chucks lever turned up today then this bad boy turned up a few hours later. Happy days. And have virtually finished the headlight last night Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

  5. BTW, apparently they are making and selling the KITs for these cars again now. Just so you can get more sleepless nights, they even have ADR/ compliance
  6. Yes it is Metallic green as the V7 sport, hard to tell from the pic. Oh imagine with the much more powerful 1400 motor... mmmmmmmm
  7. i think so, they are a b%$&h to get to
  8. Yes, But being what it is , is pretty easy to do once the wheel is off. The bike had been left outside although under cover for a long time, all the rubber had perished, the gearbox and bevel drive had stinky sludge for oil, so it wasnt unexpected. At 80K you would check this anyhow I guess. With the uni's in hand, it clicked as i moved the joint through its arc. For the sake of $160, it wasnt worth regreasing and seeing if they'd be ok.

  11. One was very grinding from a lack of maintenance, so while apart I did both Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
  12. Hi Gents, Probably for the Australian guys mainly but I just got my Uni's replaced - fitted, reshimmed from Driveline Services Australia for $168 which I thought I would pass on if anyone needed them done. Seems like a good price replacement and fitment.
  13. ah.. someone did read the post. Yes my mistake it is the compression im talking about not rebound
  14. Hi Chuck, Paypal is done. Thanks Mate
  15. also, this is what I want to do for the seat unit highroller02 by Neil Morgan, on Flickr 28_04_2016_Moto_studio_V11_sport_02 by Neil Morgan, on Flickr 14064127_1369062046440765_4707529995223302861_n by Neil Morgan, on Flickr 14212632_1371401989540104_5101921131603396669_n by Neil Morgan, on Flickr
  16. Also have a Wilbers stage 3 shock on its way. At the moment trying to decide whether to remove the paint on the motor or recoat it....
  17. 15wt would make sense ! It was far too light for 15wt oil though, I reckon the spec for the fork was 15wt and the factory fitted "15wt" which was more like 5wt hence the softness everyone feels
  18. DSC_0181 by Neil Morgan, on Flickr DSC_0188 by Neil Morgan, on Flickr DSC_0189 by Neil Morgan, on Flickr Fork tubes are de-anodised and polished. I am unsure at the moment whether to anodise them again since they look beautiful but will require a clean every now and again. They'll hold a clean polished finish easy enough though. Once I find out how much the fork bearings are I'll decide whether to re-anodise. Putting in thicker oil and filling a hole in the compression dampener has solved the dampening issue DSC_0161 by Neil Morgan, on Flickr
  19. Thanks Chuck, just saw this, sent you a PM since for the life of me, can't work out your email add. cheers

is that really nice rusted bearing ?
  21. Hi Everyone, Small update, I assembled the forks last night and used 10wt Motul fork oil and there is a definite improvement but not what I expect for the compression cycle. So I then I assembled the Rebound and used the same fork oil. Big change! Now the rebound has compression and rebound. MMM... I then assembled the entire front end and checked (as best as I could) how they felt combined. I think it is much better and so I then compared it to the TRX (R1 2007 forks) and Ducati ST2 I have and it was somewhere in between the two, the ducati felt soft and the TRX quite firm. Im now going to run with this and finish the bike. If it turns out poxy on the road then there is nothing more to try without getting different front end. Im also confident that it will be ok though, there is now dampening both ways.
  22. Thanks GuzziMoto. I am reassembling them today once I go and get some oil. Since I have no real experience on the internals I will be testing it in a similar way. I just did a bike build on a TRX850 and used 2007 R1 forks so I noticed that even one of those legs - which does half the dampening of the guzzi leg - had substantially more dampening. So this was a bench mark at the time. I want a similar stiff setup as the TRX handles bumps like a treat so all things being equal and considering the weight difference, the Guzzi will need slightly harder feel than the R1 forks. I was going to go down the path of a new front end , but they are simply too hard to come by and since this might be a cheap fix then if it doesnt work, then I can still hunt for a front end afterwards.
  23. So the hole is welded shut Hard to make out the hole but it's smooth as silk inside Once all back together I'll see whether it works. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
  24. L/H side, compression dampening.
  25. That's the path I'm going. Block the hole. If you use thicker oil it will create another issue and that's the inflowing ports aren't designed to flow thicker oil. It may have no effect but it may too.The other way of blocking the port should be fine. Funny guzzimoto talks about two ports, mine has three. Not sure but he probably just didn't mention it. I'll post pics, no problem Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
