  2. Doesnt the longer frame have a big brace under the gearbox and the earlier short frame not have the bracket ? which would be why its got the bracket on top of the gearbox
  3. Not sure how the insurance works in US, but in AUS we can accept the offer value to replace or demand (if structurally sound) to repair. You can also say who you want to repair or put in a cost of repair to do yourself as i did. They would of course inspect and get their own quote for repair as a comparison. 4. Should be drop in. Seems strange they needed machining?? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  5. Same i haven't heard anything. The other week though a friend showed my his Ducati diavel and i saw that he had the fork inserts and a matris shock. He reckons they were better. He spent a lot of money getting it the way he wanted so i can't imagine it would be for nothing. The flip is the original are pretty spongy imho and im sure they've done their research. They were relatively cheap and fast free shipping from italy. I'll let you know how they turn out but it will be couple of weeks as i have a bike on my hoist at the moment Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  6. How's this ? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Interesting headstock center cap, what holds it on? Theres a thread inside the cap.Actually, i sold that one and made something that matches the others. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

  10. The cam drive belts are a piece of piss scud, a man of your tallents will find it easy. The covers and stuff come off pretty easy after you get the F$#+_&îng fairing off. Just note the tension on the old belts before you remove the tension pully and set the same with the new belts. There is a special tensioning tool for the old engines and a fancy shmancy acoustic tool for the later bikes ( I kid you not, you tension the belt and give it a pluck and the tool measures the frequency) some use a guitar tuner but I still do it by feel. One way is to slide an allen wrench between the belt and tensioner bearing like a feeler gauge. a 6mm one with a moderate amount of drag for the ST2 from memory. Just line up the dot jackshaft pully with the groove on the clutch housing and then make your own markes on the cam pullies. Very easy. Ciao Update.. a friend was tuning his belts with a mobile phone app. For memory its 110hz but on mine I used a 5mm allen key..Here's a couple of extras points between the ducati and guzzi donks (engines). Valve tappet clearances... wait till u need on the ducati. They're critical clearances. Hard to get to and expensive. Ya all know how difficult the guzzi is. The clutch will go on the ducati about 80k. They're an aluminum basket and they develop deep grooves making the clutch rattle louder and louder. Replace with a Barnett billet clutch basket that has stainless tongue covers to limit wear. The heads often wear guides around 80k too. Quoted here at around $1200 for valves , guides and machining. ST3 would be more. That's about the worst. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  21. Hey Everyone, Does anyone know what the exact size of the thread is on the headstock of the V11 ?? I measured the thread and it appears to be around 22.8~ mm dia and 1mm pitch but just wondering before I get a tap to suit whether someone knows that it is a 23mm Dia x 1mm pitch definitely. Thanks Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  25. Well..... mine wasnt black to start with so don't let that hold you back ! Those qualities are just a starting point and a base. Those very things you point out are the things I saw in the V11 too. I like the Tonti frames just as much but in a different more classic sense whereas the V11 tank, motor and frame give it not just a more modern feel but I think a more muscular beefy look too You stripped it to its very nature: pure Café. Epitome and climax of 50 years big block. The form of the tank, engine, headers, the front fork, the headlights: timeless design and still 10 or 15 years ahead of its time if you compare it to the now so successful BMW NineT. I wish I had a black one here, the polished forks and headers look so classy.
