  1. Nice reply- very pithy.
  2. I reckon a Union Jack paint job for the false fuel tank- changed me mind- just dump all the standard bodywork and replace with unpainted carbon fibre. Congratulations Noggers- will you be taking it to Cadwell in May? Guy
  3. Both times I have had an crash which resulted in an impact I hit my head at the very top. Crash number one- I headbutted a tree when I was 18 after going straight on at a corner- was wearing a full face but it was irrelevant because it was the top of my head that butted the tree- thankfully the fence I had crashed into first slowed me down. I also painfully whacked my bollocks into the front of my tank- no permanent damage done thankfully. Crash number two- I was exiting a roundabout a year later when an elderly couple in a camper van pulled out right in front of me and I bodychecked the cab. I was wearing an open faced lid this time and again the top of my head took the impact. My speedo stopped dead at 20mph so I guess this was my final speed. The force of my body caused the whole side of the cab to cave in leaving a human shaped dent! The driver was successfully prosecuted by the police. Crash number three- still aged 19 I failed to negotiate a corner on a country lane, went through a hedge, then a barbed wire fence which ripped my visor off- thank god I was wearing a full face! I ended up in the middle of a field after doing a Dukes Of Hazzard style jump into the field which was about 4 feet lower than the road. God must have been smiling on me because the only injury I sustained was a thorn in my wrist, although my 400/4 was totally wrecked. Helmets saved me three times in a row when I was a stupid kid. I am sensible now having learned the hard way. Guy
  4. I'm waiting for Ratchethack to log on and type a ten thousand word thesis on why full face lids are best!
  5. The guys on the Buell forum tend to recommend you do your own mods rather than buy the race kit- apparently it adds something like 1 bhp but obviously the noise makes you think its faster. If you want to look at some Buell porn take a look at http://www.britnett-carver.co.uk/trojanhorse/ Guy
  6. Take a look at: http://www.oneida-abate.org/legislative/Articles/cooter.html Was not sure whether to post this because it may start up another nerdy debate like the Garbled Warbling thread, but it is an interesting read. It only covers the outcome of head and face injuries- one other factor to take into account is the liklihood of having an accident in the first place which is why I like wearing open face or flip up lids because you can see and hear much better. So would you prefer to die with no facial injuries or be disfigured and live? Guy
  7. Noggers You have been after a Buell for ages- like you say there are many deals out there so just buy it- it looks like nice bike. Nothing wrong with multi bike ownership- in fact its a good idea to have a back up bike for when your Guzzi is sick. No need for you to feel guilty- indulge yourself.
  8. I poke badgers with spoons Antonio- looks like the engine has fallen off your bike! Guy
  9. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/CARS/news/news....jsp?dbid=31754 This is sheer lunacy- I can see the frustrated drivers undertaking these "pace drivers". Complete Bollox. Guy
  10. Just booked the ferry for Erin- if anyone is interested you can get a discount when booking online via MCN- £68 return for fast ferry Fishguard to Rosslare return. http://www.stenaline.co.uk/stena_line/gb/stena_line_uk.html Guy
  11. I went out today on my bike to buy a new tent as my old one is knackered. It was bloody freezing and it rained despite being forecast as dry. Still enjoyed it though and even though the camping shop is only 9 miles away, I made sure I took the back roads and did 60 miles, just for the crack. Wish I was in California though! Guy
  12. Just bite the bullet and buy it- I am sure you can make room in your lounge. Keeping my 900SS in the living room was one of the many causes of my divorce!! Guy
  13. Final days Moto GP testing. Dukes still leading the pace but most concentrating on race simulations. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/nav?page=mot...ry=SPORT_MOTOGP
  14. The govt are actually proposing putting a GPS tracker in each vehicle to do this- don't worry- its scare tactics because no govt would commit suicide by making this happen. Their track record on implementing technology is crap- ID cards, air traffic control, CSA computers etc. No way will they be able to do this- will cost a fortune and will piss everyone off. But when they announce option 2 whatever that is we will all be supposed to breathe a sigh of relief and say "its not as bad as we expected"- typical politicians tactics. Guy

I really do the rubber mallet thing with the sump if I need to. Unfortunately I had no pics of a Guzzi being whacked with a rubber mallet- the pic in the poster is a friend caled Magnus in Montmedy, France when his ignition switch got full of water beacuse it rained so much and it rusted inside. Nothing that a bit of temporary hot wiring could not fix! Guy

  22. A man walks into his bedroom with a sheep under his arm. His girlfriend is lying in bed. He says "This is the pig I have sex with when you have a headache" His girlfriend replies "You bloody idiot that's a sheep not a pig!" He says "I think you will find I was not talking to you"

How about "Bankruptcy comes with owning a Moto Guzzi"?
  24. I used to have a Fiat Barchetta a few years back which was a nice little car and it never went wrong while I owned it, but I believe in was built in Maggiore not Turin which may explain it. Guy
