Somehow I have ended up living with a young lass from Yorkshire- they are very friendly you know.
-
Well if I go I will be camping so not worried about booking accomodation for any dates- just need to book the ferries. Will probably ride down there in two days and back the same. Guy

Did you see that they cut off the top of Guzzbun's head? Either that or he has a flat head which mst be handy for carrying things on top.

I am glad that the Scottish Rally is continuing this year- I have been to Traquair House a few years ago on my old Sport Corsa and it is a nice spot with some lovely roads around it. Guy

I got the dates from Grumblemonger for 2006
-
Its going to be 16th / 17th of September- weather should still be good hopefully. Guy

Just received the latest issue of the Guzzi Club GB magazine Gambalunga. Paul's and Jean Marc's bikes are featured plus in the 2006 calendar some dodgy geezer's V11 Rosso Corsa is pictured in Ireland. Guy

Found a pic of Mal's Givis taken last year at the beginning of the Stelio pass in Italy:

Until recently I had 3 V11s in the garage- mine, Helen's and I was looking after Mal's bike who lives round the corner. We all had Tekno frames- and strangely each one was completely different in shape and construction to the other- I have done nothing special with mine its just how it came. Guy

You could try Reboot spares in France (run by Pete who is English). He is breaking a V11 Sport 2003 model- I think he has sold the headlight but he may have the instruments you are after, if not he may be able to find you some. Corsa Italiana in London will sell you a carbon fibre nose fairing www.corsaitaliana.com As will Motomecca www.motomeccaspares.co.uk I believe all the above are happy to ship to the USA. I have seen some being sold by a German vendor on EBAY much cheaper but I dont know what the quality is like. Guy

Helen bought a 2003 V11 Sport with 3000 miles on the clock from Eddys in Leeds for £4000 in April. I got £500 knocked off the price by some gentle negotiation. V11s priced over £4000 seem to get stuck for ages- there is even a low mileage 1 year old Rosso Corsa which has stayed unsold for ages in a local dealer priced at a very reasonable £4995, considering the new list price of £8700. If you are selling privately you need to be realistic with your pricing- I have seen several overpriced V11s that just keep getting relisting on EBAY down to no interest cause by too high a reserve. If you are in the Guzzi club it may be worth advertising in Gambalunga the club mag- but you will need to be patient as it is only printed every two months but at least you will be exposing your bike to an audience of Guzzi enthusiasts. Hope this helps Guy

I know somebody who uses Givi hard luggage- I believe he adapted the frame from his LMV to fit the V11. Guy

Its true- I have ridden 2 year 2000 Sports and they both wobbled at speed. I understand this can be cured by adjusting suspension settings, though dont ask me they are! They was a lot of talk about this on Guzzi forums in 2000 but I can't remember the exact solutions. If yours does not wobble you don't need worry about it! Guy

Hi Tim I would start with checking the relays- are they the original Seimens? If so that may be the problem. Swap them over and see if that makes a difference. If so replace with Bosch or Ormron units. The neutral switch which connects to the gearbox behind the starter motor may be another cause- make sure its all conncted and pressed together nicely. Some posters here have moved handlebars from side to side which has enabled them to start bike. I believe there is a switch on the clutch that may be a cause- also worth checking block connectors under the fuel tank to make sure they are connected properly. This has happened to most of us- if you use the search facility you will come across many other posts and solutions regarding this. Good luck Guy

I have an HD Fatboy for track days, hill climbs and drag racing and a V11 for posing in my leather chaps and looking baaad. Guy

Helen has the same coloured V11 but she has a broken leg so it was not her! Guy

Looks like a GTV500- can't quite make out the whole of the motor- is there a second cylinder tucked away at the back from a 2C?

Verona is a lovely town to visit- and if you get the chance ride north from Mandello to take in the famous Stelvio pass with its millions of hairpins. The Dolomites are great too and there are plenty of mountain passes around Merano to keep you entertained. Not sure what time of year you are going but Northern Italy gets cold in winter and most of the passes may be shut. Agostinis in Mandello will rent you a Guzzi if you wish- ask for Hutch he is the best English speaker. If the petrol stations are shut you will find that many of them take bank notes to allow you to fill up. Guy

Went for a 230 mile round trip with Mal to the seaside town of Whitby today. Was a positively tropical 10 degrees C and for the first time in weeks the roads were dry. Ate Haddock and chips as is the Whitby tradition. Got colder after sunset and I was glad of my heated grips. Was a few other bikes out today including some prat on a gold Pan European who blocked me in the car park. Nice to get some fresh sea air though. Also did 110 miles yesterday on my own over the local moors. Winter biking is fun when the weather is not too bad like today.

Some of the games are during rally season: 10th June England V Paraguay- Erin (Irish) rally 15th June England V Trinidad and Tobago- On ferry to Boxmeer! 20th June England v Sweden- no rallies The Netherlands have a game on the Friday night of Boxmeer against the Ivory coast- time for a big screen telly I think. When you walk around the museum in Mandello you can't help being wowed by the purposeful and no nonsense look of the race and road bikes for the last 60 years or so. Guzzi used to have the cream of innovators and designers- I just wonder who designs the bikes these days. They could do with some young exciting designers- I know that commercial pressures have dictated things so boring bikes (Griso excepted) like the Norge are launched instead of sports bikes but lets get some innovation and excitement back into the brand. No point in building off the wall singles- a very limited market- just look what happened to Gilera's new Saturno about 15 years back. Guzzi need to build bikes that are lusted after and not dismissed as old man's bikes. There is a place for Brevas, Grisos and cruisers in the range but I am still hoping (maybe unrealistically) for a proper road legal sports bike. If not I can feel a Ghezzi Brian arriving- at least they have shown what can be done even with the old motor by shaving weight off the chassis. I can only dream! Guy

I am not bothered about Xmas pressies- just some nice riding weather would be good. Guy

Oh yeah I have 2 in the garage. Not quite in the same spirit as a 1000S (I used to have one of them too)- maybe its the spine frame. Guy
