  1. Xmas pressies? Some matt black hammerite and and some TNT for my clutch please BFG so I can turn my Corsa into a Scura. Guy
  2. You dont need to spend that much on an HD motor to get over 100bhp- it has a lot of tuning potential. I aint gonna bother cos I wanted a slow bike! Guy
  3. I completely agree- the whole image thing makes me laugh- there are guys who wear patches on their leather waistcoats with Road Captain wtitten on- do we have to salute? Guzzi have tried to copy the "HOG" thing (after all it makes HD shitloads of cash) with the World Guzzi Club (anyone in that?) and selling Guzzi watches etc but they have failed miserably. I, as usual, will do my own thing and not get involved with the image business. Guy
  4. All these things are a matter of taste after all it would be boring if we all rode the same sort of bikes. Things are probabaly a bit different over here than across the pond- I am probably the only Fatboy owner in town and I assure you nobody gets stuck behind me on it- its actually quite nippy after I had it tuned. Even though HD have fitted 4 pot calipers the brakes are still crap so I have ordered a Harrison Billiet 6 pot for the front which should make it stop quicker. Its actually great fun to ride- and the reason I bought it is to slow down a bit on the road- I have little self control and often get tempted to ride like a nutcase and I don't want to end up like the friends I have known who are now 6 feet under. V11 is still number 1 wife though! Guy
  5. BFG has been quite for a couple of days- do you think he has accidently locked himself inside his hut? Someone in Ireland may need to launch a rescue mission- he may have had to start eating his Scura to stay alive. Guy
  6. The V Rod has not really sold well over here- like many Guzzi riders HD guys like aircooled motors. Triumph sell a hell of a lot more Rocket 111s than HD do V Rods. I saw some awesome modified bikes drag racing at Santa Pod- all setting fast times:
  7. Try Pete at Reboot spares http://www.rebootguzzispares.com/index.html?mainframe.htm&2 He has broken a V11 Le Mans and may have a headlight. It will probably be British spec but if you have your old headlamp you can change the beam reflector around although its a bit of a pain in the arse. Guy
  8. Someone was complaining recently that they could not buy Tekno bags anymore- well this may be your solution. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOTO-GUZZI-V11-TEKNO...1QQcmdZViewItem Guy
  9. There is a German guy called Frank who comes to some of the UK rallies, and Boxmeer and he does some fantastic stunts on his black Guzzi combination in the car park- gets it on two wheels and does doughnuts! Guy
  10. Hi Gary I bought Omron relays from my local delar Moto Strada- Jason will mail them to you if you ask him. I can recommend a Hawker Odyssey battery - expensive but tough and long lasting with good cranking power in the cold. Motorworks sell them. Regards Guy
  11. If you are replacing all your relays with new ones best to buy 5 pins only- a 5 pin will work in a 4 pin slot but not visa versa. Guy
  12. Just a thought- when you swapped relays did you make sure they all went back in the original position? If by any chance you placed a 4 pin in a 5 pin slot this may be your problem. I know this from my own mistakes! All of my electrical niggles on my V11 have been relay related so it may be worth checking and swapping again methodically- and if you still have Seimens dump them for Bosch or Omron. Guy
  13. Try taping a centrefold from Hustler magazine on your handlebars and see if that works. Guy
  14. Luckily I have a perversion for bike cleaning- it was cleaned within 30 mins of getting home!
  15. Sorry to disappoint with another non-Guzzi pic but I had to do some breaking in on the HD. Was 1 degree above freezing and where it was shady there was still snow and ice on the road but it was just cold and wet in the sunny bits. It was fantastic to ride over the moors and see the snowy landscape and I really enjoyed the ride today. Guy
  16. Yep I have a PC111USB on my 2003 built V11 and it works great after having a custom map set up on the dyno. Not sure if the California spec will make a difference- I doubt it but am sure somebody will know across the pond. Guy
  17. A real shame about Richard Burns- a brilliantly talented rally driver and world champion who died so young. The massive George Best media coverage has overshadowed Richard's death this week so maybe some people don't even know he has passed away. Guy
  18. That probably explains why many dealers drop the Guzzi franchise- after all they are running a business. I can't say enough good words about my local dealer Moto Strada in Shipley- Jason who runs the place is a good mechanic and warranty claims are never a problem. Guy
  19. Go for a Street Glide and I think that comes with a CD player- I personally prefer engine noise and singing to myself like a loony. We are hiring our bikes in LA and will be exploring bits of California, Arizona, Utah and Colorado. Looking forward in particular to visiting Las Vegas and riding in warm weather! Have a great time Guy
  20. Its chucking it down with snow here
  21. Sounds great- Helen and I are hiring Road Kings for 3 weeks in July to celebrate the end of my hospital treatment- can't wait to get some sun! Are you using Eagleriders for the hire? Guy
  22. I went to the 80th which was held in late September- I would not be surprised if it was this time of year again but you won't hear anything for a while unless Ewan has used his Jedi skills to extract information from the Guzzi management!
  23. Of course- if they are good friends. I know my mates are insured and I trust them and am more than happy to lend them my Rosso Corsa or Helen's V11. A stranger? No way! Funnily enough a couple of friends say they are afraid to borrow my Harley in case they actually enjoy it!!! Guy
  24. Your kids will have smoked the lot then eaten all the munchies in your house!!
  25. Why not go for LEDs instead? Brighter and they come on quicker. Guy
