  1. Grossohc's mate Harry stripped the paint off his and repainted with Harley crinkle paint- and did this I believe with the motor in situ. Did a good job from what I remember when I saw it.
  2. Think Baldrick does turn up on here now and then! Yep- the filters thing is total bollocks but hey, its not boring reading Enzo's stuff, look at it as being a bit of science fiction. I've run with standard filter in airbox, lidless airbox with K and N element with tubes cut open, and no airbox with big K & N pods and the main difference is the noise- doesn't make a massive difference either way, apart from that lovely intake roar which I love and some others hate. My arse dyno told me that probably the K & N element in a lidless box gave best mid range, and pods gave best top end but I guess it doesn't really matter that much with the differences being minimal. Some will say that K and Ns are the work of the devil and will make your engine wear out quickly but I've been using them since 1988 with no issues. I like pods because they get rid of the huge plastic airbox and give easier access to the rear shock. Best and cheapest way to make these bikes go quicker? Go on a diet!
  3. The stock ECU can be reprogrammed- I had the ECU on my V11 flashed by HTM in Germany- I believe that Hartmut used Ultimap software. I've got good results out of a PC111USB- recently had my cafe racer set up with a custom map by Dynobike in Malton. Great guy who took his time and talked me through the whole process as he was remapping my bike. The reason I used a PC was that I had an old one which BFG sold back to me a few months ago, so it was a cheaper option that getting the ECU flashed or other solutions. I am from Hampshire originally and I know that Moto Corsa have had plenty of happy punters who they have taken to Cresecnt Suzuki. Cheers Guy P.S. Heard a whisper that the latest ECU on Grisos / 1200 Sports etc can now be flashed and reprogrammed.
  4. I was in Mandello at the start of the month- they are expecting up to 30000 visitors for the Raduno!
  5. I believe it is no longer a limited edition and has become a regular production model.
  6. I'm pretty sure that Ed at Gutsibits has a used seat in stock.
  7. It's not very pretty in my eyes, but 10/10 for originality and innovation. The rear indicators reminded me of something else.. Guy

    Saying Hi

Congratulations on your new bike Pete! Same colour as Helen's V11 not sure what its officially called- I call it burgundy myself. Cheers Guy
  9. My old V11 was noise tested at Cadwell Park a few times which is also 105db limit, and even though she was completely unsilenced and very loud, she just registered over 100db. 105db is a very high threshold. If in doubt just keep chatting to the guy with the noise tester to distract him and rev it a bit lower than they are telling you to- they rarely look at your instruments. Or you could take out your rev counter relay and say its bust and rev to 4k if they say 5k. The noisey-as-biff Raceco Daytona which sounds like hell on earth passed the 105db limit and I'm guessing none of us have a bike louder that that! Track plus beer sounds great to me as long as we organise things well in advance so its on the calendar and I can get time off!
  10. You can save yourself a few quid by using a stanley knife to slice off the top of your airbox lid, being careful to leave the edges in place where the retaining bolts keep the filter in place. I did this years ago on my V11 which I've since sold so havent got any pics I'm afraid. I've no experience with BMC filters and they are probably fine but I used a K and N with good results. Enjoy the noise in the dyno room!!
  11. I sorted it with a four pound lump hammer and a drift while a mate took the weight of the wheel. Needed a pretty hefty whack to shift it.
  12. Bugger what a co-incidence! I'm trying to take the rear axle out of Helens V11 and the fecker is seized solid! Just remembered the wheel was last refitted by a dealer bet they used no grease!
  13. Hi FifeV11 Far from being the only V11 in Scotland there are a fair few about. I'm sure Haydn will introduce you to the Scottish branch of the Moto Guzzi Club GB. V11lemans.com forum has had meetings in the past in Spean Bridge, Aultguish (better not talk about that one!) and Ken Bridge over the last few years. Glad you got your wheel sorted, and as Keith mentions its worth greasing the axle so it somes out easier next time. Regards Guy
  14. Buy some V11 Sport headight brackets, some indicators and a Bosch headlight you can go the whole way- easy to convert back to a Le Mans if you change your mind: My Rosso Corsa:
  15. Have you ever thought about getting yourself a nice car?
  16. Love the pic with the sun bathing the little fishing boat.

    My 950S

Shame to see her go she is a lovely bike.
  18. Bugger. You dont have much luck do you- remember when your Scura blew over after my little spill at Glen Shee? I got some pattern V11 levers from Agostinis which were about £20 each- maybe they make them for a Griso too. Andy bought some pattern levers for his 1200 Sport from Wemoto- they are from an Aprilia Caponord and fit perfectly- I got some for my Sprint too just in case I ever need them.
  19. John at the Tank Shop has made a couple V11 tanks including one for Tikkanen (although I dont think he's got it yet!). Last time I visited whch was a few years ago he had a V11 Sport in his garage to use as a template, although there is no guarantee its the same style tank as your bike. He also has a huge order book so you may be waiting a couple of years. Cant think of anyone else who will do it for sure, but you could try these guys: http://www.alu-tanks.de/41398.html Good luck Guy
  20. Yep, looks to me like the ever available 'woolly temptresses of the north' Ewe guys come up with all the best gags!
  21. And a short poor quality vid clip. Sorry about the wind noise.
  22. I enjoyed a nice ride to the Tan Hill Inn today, a 200 mile round trip for lunch taking in some of the best roads in the Yorkshire Dales and Trough Of Bowland. It is Britain's highest Inn, and you can camp there if you dont mind your tent blowing away cos its always very windy up there. I was joined by Gutsibits Ed, who was riding his LM111 Bitsa:
  23. Have fun guys! Remember the Cookstown 100 races are on telly tomorrow night think it's BBC NI. Hope it stays dry for the North West Guy
  24. Guzzi have just announced a 1200 Sport Corsa- the only difference I can see to the regular 1200 Sport is the paintjob? Surely a "Corsa" version should have something special about it? The 1100 Sport Corsa had Carillo rods and full Termi carbon fibre race system, and the V11 Rosso / Nero Corsa had full Ohlins. I'm sure its a nice enough bike but like the V7 "Racer" the names are getting a bit silly compared to the actual machines. 1200 Sport Corsa Guy
  25. Helen, myself and a group of friends are riding down to Slovenia next month. We are planning to stop along the way somewhere around Frankfurt, and maybe Berchtesgaden. Can anyone please recommend some nice campsites? Prefer smaller sites in rural locations with a bar nearby. Thank you in anticipation! Guy
