Ok I have got a quote for PVM wheels with cush drive and everything needed to fit them to a Guzzi for 1650 euros which is about the same price as OZs without cush drive. The vendor is German and called Klaus- thanks Paul for pointing me in his direction. I understand he regularly sells on EBAY. I am just trying to verify exactly which PVM wheels this price applies to as they have several different types. If you want to contact Klaus his email is gacki4711@web.de I am seriously tempted! Guy

A friend's son learnt on a Honda 125 Varadero- tall, solid, comfy, reasonably light with plenty of steering lock. Best to buy used cos they always sell them on again once they have passed their test. All the sporty bikes like Aprilia RS125s and NS125s have no steeering lock. Guy

How many hours does it take just to take off your socks???

Its been for sale there for many months- maybe a cheap offer will secure the deal. Guy

Yes I think its a Gilera Saturno 500cc from around 1947. Guy P.S. Give BB the point he got there first!

HDGoose has posted on another forum as well.

Have you not seen the film? The close harmony singing of the Welsh Boyos scared the Zulus away! Can't blame 'em either!

The thin red line of Rosso Corsas and Mandellos will hold firm against the green and black hordes just like we did at Rorke's Drift. Mistrals cleaned, oiled and ready for firing. We will never surrender. Guy

The main issue is overpricing from the outset- the list for my RC was nearly £9000 which nobody will pay for a new Guzzi, hence it was gathering dust in the showroom for a year. Guzzi seemed to have learnt from this and I think the Breva 1100 and Griso prices are reasonable but I still reckon On Yer Bike will be shifting them at a grand less than list soon when the initial enthusiasm wains. Guy

Not necessarily- I got a discount of nearly £2000 off my new Rosso Corsa and I know its been loved from new. Nobody pays full list for a new Guzzi unless they are desperate or it is a brand new model with a waiting list. Guy

I adapted a twin headlight Crossbow fairing with Cibies many years ago on my old Lario. Maybe you can do the same on your V11. Guy

I will be contacting PVM in the next few days for a quote to sell me some nice light wheels with a cush drive- something I know they have done before for other Guzzi owners. Two other forum members have expresed an interest so far- if anyone else is interested please let me know and I will get you a quote- they wont be cheap but will probabaly be cheaper than the 1700 Euros that G and B charge for OZ plus they will have cush drive too unlike the OZs. Its either Ohlins shocks for the Harley or new wheels for the Guzzi and I think the wheels will win the affections of my wallet!! Guy

I have 2 Roof Boxers - an original plastic one and a modern fiberglasss one. I know not everyone gets on with them and some complain of rain leaking in but I think this may be down to how well the visor is fitted. With a 2P coin you can change the visor in 3 minutes and they are worth their weight in gold in the traffic in the summer heat and they are one of few flip ups you can ride at motorway speeds open face because the chin piece flips all the way to the back. Cheapest place to buy Roofs is here. I hagggled and got £20 a dark visor too. http://www.designerhelmets.com/index.php I wear an Arai Quantum F in the winter- too cold for flip ups but funnily enough the Roof weighs less. Guy

Most decent paint shops can now use a computer scanner to get a good match. Guy

Mal's rear wheel bearing did last year - he will probably read this tomorrow so can comment. Round thing looked like a big metal hula hoop!

I understand that the Erin rally is back again for 2006 and we have decided to go to this one instead of Boxmeer- anyone else going? Guy

KB - I agree the rear makes a difference too- the rear is much more rounded than a new BT020- and my BT020 had flattened a bit anyway after some Autobahn miles down to the Black Forest. BFG- on the subject of grease this was the first time I had whipped the back wheel myself as the previous change was done by Agostinis whilst on tour, and the before that I had a puncture and ended up at the local dealers who whipped a new tyre on. And surprise surprise there was naff all grease anywhere- the splines had rusted so bad the wheel was seized onto them and needed a big heave to get it off. The axle was bone dry too. The round metal thingy (can you tell I am technically minded?) that sits next to the needle roller bearing in the back wheel was dry and scored too- Mal pointed this out to me- he is an excellent Guzzi mechanic and a good teacher! Obviously we gave everthing a good greasing and brushed the rust off so it should be fine now but I am appalled by Guzzi's lack of basic prep on their bikes- my local dealer said he went to the factory recently and each workstation had a big tin of graphite grease so hopefully they are improving in this area. Good luck with your new tyres. Guy

Just taken my Rosso Corsa out for the first time on its new Diablo Corsas. It was about 11 degrees C and I did 60 miles with Mal on his Le Mans over moorland roads which were dry in places and soaking wet elsewhere. I was obviously taking it easy on new tyres and greasy roads but I am pleased to say that the Corsas warmed up as quick as my old BT020s and were very good in the wet. We stopped for a cup of tea in a pub then headed back and by now the wind had dried the roads a bit more so we upped the pace a little and I noticed that the bike turned better on its new tyres- I reckon it is down to the front which although technically the same size definitely has a lower profile that the BT020. All in all I am very pleased and can't wait for a warm dry summers day to test 'em properly- maybe a while though! Guy P.S. Thanks to Mal for helping me clean up my front brake pistons yesterday- a couple were nearly seized due to all the crud and brake dust but they are now as good as new.

Interesting theory BFG maybe my Hake pads swam here from France.
