  1. Here is an important road safety video:
  2. I have a haphazard brain Martin. I spent a couple of weeks a few years back redecorating a school for kids with autism and aspergers syndrome and I can understand what a challenge it must be bringing a child up, which I am sure you do well at. Guy
  3. Motorcycle cops are now pretty rare in these parts- maybe Martin can confirm but I think its down to all the money they spend on speed cameras which are good at handing out tickets but are not good at stopping drivers / riders who have been drinking over the limit or on drugs. When you do meet one while riding they will normally nod at you, and sometimes if you are sharing a lay bay or car park they wll come over for chat as many are bikers themselves out of uniform. Both the speeding tickets I have been issued in the last 15 years have been from sneaky unmarked cars not bikes and after a few trouble fee years I got one from a camera last year when my V11 had a broken speedo- still my fault of course. Be nice to them - they may catch the uninsured drugged up driver who may have knocked you off othewise. Guy
  4. Or you could buy a used Magni fairing on Ebay- there is one listed at the moment in the USA. Guy
  5. I would be tempted to convert the bike to naked stylee like a V11 sport- need the headlamp and brackets though. The Le Mans fairing is effective but has been hit hard with the ugly stick. Guy
  6. Been using synthetic for years no issues You can bore yourself f***ing silly and look at the oil threads on here using the search facility, but its probably better to go out for a ride and enjoy your bike! Guy
  7. I had a good couple of years witha LHD Fiat Barchetta which is based upon a Punto and apart from a cracking heatshield in the motor it was 100% reliable with no issues at all. Went, sounded and handled well for a front wheel drive car too. GU
  8. Well done Mr Forrest! Its a Hunwick Harrop and yes made in Australia. I thought an Aussie may get this one. Please give the man a point, Jaap! Guy
  9. Gussing here- 1/ Erik Buell? 2/ Willie G Davidson? Struggling! Guy
  10. When I fitted my Stucchi the noise increase was minimal- it was pretty loud anyway with Mistrals and no airbox lid. Made a positive difference to the power delivery though even before I had my PC111 set up on the dyno. Check the build quality before you buy one- mine was fine from the box but some are made uneven and make it harder to fit. Guy
  11. I had a puncture near a place called Castlenou in the Pyrenees. Guzzi promised a breakdown truck in an hour- it actually took four hours. Only bonus was that the puncture happened in the only village for miles and we had a nice meal in the hilltop restaurant while we waited for the truck. He was merely going to inject some goo into the tyre to fix before I pointed out it was a tubed tyre (my Jackal) so he had to tow me into Perpignan. He said that Guzzi breakdown were insisting he took the bike to the official Guzzi dealer so we headed that way only to find that the dealership no longer existed so we eventually ended up at a Yamaha dealer who were great and fixed it in no time. I now use the breakdown cover supplied by my insurer Carole Nash and I feel more confident about their service. Mal had a wheel bearing fail in the Dolomites last year and he used Carole Nash- the guy in the breakdown van owned a Guzzi, was a member of the local Dolmites Guzzi club and took the bike to a garage owned by the president of the club who fixed it quickly- what good service is that? Guy
  12. Rossi was a mere demi-god today. Congratulations to Melandri- his first Moto GP win and he rode very well- I hope he will push Rossi hard next year.
  13. Is this so difficult that you need a clue? Guy
  14. I can't even remember posting that- must have either been an imposter or I was very very drunk!
  15. Not a Duke Just spent a very nice evening in a lapdancing club- can recommend it to anybody!
  16. Interesting looking at the top speeds from the Moto GP qualifying in Turkey: Elias Yamaha 302.4 km/h Tamada Honda 301.8 Checa Ducati 301.8 Rossi Yamaha 301.7 Rolfo Ducati 300.1 Gibernau Honda 300.0 Ito Ducati 299.0 Melandri Honda 298.8 Hayden Honda 298.6 All pretty even really but seems as though the Honda top speed advantage has been eroded- only one in the top 5. The corners count for more of course but top end grunt is good for passing on the straights as shown by Checa last week. Guy P.S. I don't think Rossi "gifted" the win at Laguna Seca for any sentimental reasons- I think he knew that Haydon was better there and rode well within his limits to make sure he stayed on the bike with the Championship in mind.
  17. Nobody close I am afraid!
  18. Ok to give someone else a chance Manufacturer and country of origin please.
  19. Yes that happened in British Superbikes this year- the full factory HRC Fireblades with a huge budget got thier arses spanked by a private team on 2004 spec Ducatis- he he he he he he he he he! Guy
  20. I think it is a Jawa Z15 500CC 1956
