  1. I've ridden one and its a good bike- hopefully what Guzzi need financially because its been a good seller at my local dealer Moto Strada. Including Chris's bike he had sold 7 Breva 1100s within a few weeks. Probabaly a better tourer than a V11 but for me it just does not have the character and spunk of a V11. Guy
  2. I have several other pics of ladies in bikinis on Guzzis- nothing too explicit- will post them if the moderators are happy. Guy
  3. Just for you Docc!
  4. Spot on- Broadmoor is the highest security hospital in the UK which houses all the real head cases. I think BFG must have tunnelled out using his famous return spring ratchet arm as a digging tool. Guy
  5. Ralph I had the same issue when I owned my Sport Corsa- my girlfriend was not confident riding abroad so I bought a Cali Jackal and kitted it out with a comfy seat, screen, hard luggage, extra brake disc, centrestand and crashbars. This still made it much cheaper than a new Cali EV and it was not covered in plastic chrome like the EV. It made a great two up tourer but became redundant when Helen started to ride her own bike abroad so I sold it to my parents. Even though I have bought a HD I would recommend the Cali as a better tourer- lighter, more dynamic, faster, cheaper and better handling. You will end up doing the same A to B times as on your Rosso Corsa. Guy
  6. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/nav?page=mot...ourceId=3353541 Nobody will get excited over the chopper (except BFG maybe ) but the lady in the video clip is nice. Contains some mild nudity so don't blame me if you are easily offended!! Guy

    Heads up!

I remember this being a discussion topic in 2000 on the MGCL forum where some owners were complaining of slappers. The solution in terms of setting up the bike was discussed and this seemed to solve things for those owners of new V11s who were complaining- don't ask me what the recommended settings were- I can hardly remember what happened yesterday let alone five years ago. I rode the UK press bike for 2 weeks in 2000 shortly after it was launched- and it did wobble a bit over the ton but nothing to write home about compared to the old big twin shock Jap fours I used to ride as a teenager. Unfortunately it had been used by Fast Bikes magazine beforehand and was pictured pulling massive wheelies- the gearbox broke while it was in my possession so the importers gave me another one which also wobbled a bit. To me the fact that nobody has mentioned this as a problem on OUR forum recently means it ain't a real issue. Guy
  8. Just read the rest of the article: "The Broadmoor is a striking, pink stucco building with four wings" Is Broadmoor a hotel you would recommend to the sane majority that populate this forum BFG? Which wing did you stay in? Why did they let you out or did you escape? Fatboy
  9. Ive been riding that R6 recently cos my V11 has a bald tyre which I have not got round to replacing. Its totally mental when you get between 12000 and 16000rpms- definitely big medicine! Guy
  10. As the locals like to say around here, that's not proper snow- this is proper snow! First pic is the Pennine Branch of the MGCGB "Arse Crew" at the top of the Stelvio in July last year minutes before we had a snowball fight. Second pic taken a week later on the Timmelsjoch pass just across the Austrian border. Guy
  11. I have a Stucchi X over with Mistrals- the bike runs brilliantly after being set up on the dyno with a PC111 but the header pipes are still blue- in fact every Guzzi (5 to date) I have owned has had heavily blued downpipes- I would not worry too much about it but as Big J says you can still make improvements. Guy
  12. Thanks for posting this Chris- we will probably be going to Boxmeer again next year and this is the weekend afterwards- I will see if we can double up and do the V11 rally the weekend afterwards, assuming Boxmeer is the weekend prior. I have been to this part of Germany twice as a kid- nice countryside and roads if I remember rightly. Guy
  13. Is that why the Tenni had an optional brown seat??
  14. A bit of Googling has come up with a company called Probolt who do these sort of things: http://www.tastynuts.com/site/frames/frameset_shoponline.htm Guy
  15. I must admit to being a bike cleaning perv- I do it aboout once every 2 months or when it gets filthy and spend a whole Saturday cleaning and polishing- its also the best way to find out what is about to fall off. I use a hose first to loosen up the dirt / grit / salt, then spray it with Autoglym bike cleaner that breaks down the tough stuff and brake dust. Then wash it with bike shampoo and sponge- then hose it clean with cold water. Let it dry for a couple of hours then out with the Autoglym bike polish for the paintwork and Armour All for the plastics and seat- its fine to use on the seat as long as you give it a good wipe afterwards. I have made the mistake of not wiping the seat and sliding everywhere- which was not quite as bad as riding several laps of Cadwell Park with the seat unattached because the dealer forget to fit it back on properly the day before when it was serviced. Finish off by coating the engine and exposed bits with Scottoiler spray and WD40 to keep 'em protected from our good ol' British weather. Best trousers for a good grip are of course arseless chaps with no underwear. Guy
  16. Not worth reading the review unless they are tested on a Guzzi- an R1 is a lot lighter and has an extra 80bhp- twice the power. Guy
  17. Looks great!
  18. The MG tank bags are really easy to buy over here- Corsa Italiana sell them: http://www.corsaitaliana.com/index.php?f=data_moto_guzzi&a=2 Are the US dealers not stocking them? Guy
  19. Welcome to the forum Gazza- I am really jealous of your weather! Guy
  20. It wil make a change from Double Dutch!
  21. Well I have been flicking through the massive accessory catalogue and just can't help myself! Guy
  22. I loved watching the rotary Nortons in the early 1990s racing in British Superbikes- they were a good 10mph faster than all the Jap bikes and ate them for breakfast on the straights. I think the rules were bent a bit to allow them to compete but it was good while it lasted. Nogbad- the US army has developed a diesel engined bike in a KLR650 frame to fit in with NATOs requirements that all their vehicles must run on the same fuel- maybe you could swap your gas guzzling V11 for one of those. I am not really worried that much about MPG but have noticed that ever since I got my PC111 I am doing 10 miles to the litre when I am cruising at 85mph- thats not bad really giving a tank range of around 200 miles. V11 Quota

I think those new Aprilias are cool- apparently there will be a 550cc version too. Too expensive though- I reckon big discounts will be on the horizon as soon as it is apparent nobody is willing to stump up that amount of cash. It is also possible they will shoehorn the new V twin engine into the old RS250 frame. Guy
  24. I am wondering whether I can fit on a toilet roll holder, a tampax machine and a scented soap dispenser. Guy
