  1. Here is a pic- the black handled lever extends up to waist height to help you lever the bike on and off the stand.
  2. It is an Abba lift- I use it combined with an Abba stand for the rear. The good thing about the Abbas they are really easy to use on your own- there are two sections that bind together and clamp onto the swingarm pivot bolts. If you combine it with the front stand you can get both wheels off the ground, although I use a piece of wood under the front stand for extra leverage. I'll post a photo if anybody wants to have a look. http://www.abbastands.co.uk/
  3. It has been one of those days- looked out the window this morning and it had snowed overnight and we were meant to pick up Helen's new V11 this morning. Thankfully it melted by late morning and I gave Helen a lift on my Jackal into Leeds. Once we got back home, I did a really STUPID thing and dropped my Jackal, thinking the sidestand was down when it wasn't. The last time one of my bikes hit the deck was in 1988 when I slid off my 650 Lario on some wet cobbles so I guess I was overdue, but I still feel a right d**khead- and yes there was an audience of neighbours too! Luckily the crahsbar took most of the impact but my screen cracked and broke so have had to order a new one. To cap it all the slow puncture on my front tyre of my Rosso Corsa is still a problem after I thought it was fixed. The good news is that the new bike is very nice- I treated it to some new engine oil and plugs and gave it a bloody good clean. I can't understand why the previous owner only did 2000 miles in 2 years- he then swapped it for a Harley. Feels like the EFI needs setting up properly but apart from that it rides well. We are off to a classic bike meet at the Midway Truck Stop tommorrow so it will get it's first real run. Going for a few beers now and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day! Guy
  4. Its back again! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...4543670739&rd=1 And if you can't afford it, Corsa Italiana are selling this Raceco tuned 1200cc Daytona. http://www.corsaitaliana.com/index.php?f=data_moto_guzzi&a=0 Guy

    Selling

My car has a Rover engine- hopefully someone somewhere will keep up spares production!

    Guzzi Future?

Just like everything else, market forces will dictate things- if there is a demand, then somebody somewhere will make the bits. Guy

    Guzzi Future?

In 25 years time I will end up like all the other old men with big beards who smell of wee, spending all my weekends trawling through autojumbles trying to locate a V11 speedo cable in good nick and talking about the good old days!

    Guzzi Future?

Do Guzzis ever really wear out?!! I'm banking on keeping mine for life!
  9. Yes they were available- came with panniers and fairing (see pic above).

    Guzzi Future?

I agree it will not sell by the bucketload in the UK, although it may do ok for a Guzzi. Some of the markets abroad are completely different to ours and a "bland" bike like a Breva 1100 may be successful. Good luck to Guzzi with it!
  11. They did make a sports tourer a few years back but nobody bought it!
  12. I am sure things will clear up soon for you Carl- a garage full of nice bikes is a great incentive to recovery! Good luck and best wishes. Guy
  13. The UK HD dealers have reduced prices for 2005 rather than the usual increase- that tells a story.

    V11 goodies

Why add bloody great lumps of metal to a bike that is already a heavyweight? I remember a while back a guy over here took his V11 to a weigh bridge and even taking into account the weight of the fluids, it was way over Guzzi's claimed dry weight of 221kg. Can't remember exactly what the final reading was but it was closer to 250kgs. The owner concluded that his bike was constructed of "heavyminium"! Guy
  15. What a great guy Dave Jeffries! So fast so smooth on a big bike- he was also an ace supermoto rider as welll.
  16. Well said! And let us not forget the guys who race the Isle Of Man TT and Manx GP every year- the ultimate test in motorcycling. I am a big fan of Rossi and would never expect him to race the Island because it is seen to be too dangerous in this modern age, but we need to remember that Agostini, Read, Hailwood, Sheene etc had to race on the island as well as riding all the regular championship rounds. For this reason I don't think we can ever make historical comparisons as to who is the best- they are all great men. Guy
  17. I have always fancied that one- like most kids I had the corgi version- in fact it's still in my study minus the little Chinese man who sat in the ejector seat who was flung into oblivion a long time ago! Guy

Welcome to the forum! If you are interested, there is a Guzzi dealer north of the border: Xtreme 02891 812153 02891 819746 Northern Ireland BT23 8NN Portaferry Road - Newtownards - Co. Down Don't know if they are good bad or indifferent- maybe Belfast Guzzi will comment. Sounds like you are pretty self-sufficient anyway Regards Guy
  19. Excellent! What a nut case! He has not even added the optional second front disc to his Jackal after tuning the bollox of it! Top man!

Nice pics Pexi- thanks for sharing!

    Guzzi Future?

The new boss of Guzzi hinted in last week's MCN that they will be aiming to make a new Guzzi sports bike again. Nothing more specific and he may just have been pandering to his audience. Guy
  22. The 999 benefits from an adjustable riding position. You can change: Footpegs- 5 different positions Tank / seat unit- 3 different positions Seat moves fore and aft by 20mm (single seat version only) I have yet to ride one but have sat on one and found it much comfier than a 916, with the bars being higher too. Guy
  23. Yes Sky cover both British superbike races live, plus the Supersport and other supporting races like the R6 cup live. It was quite a comparison watching the BSB guys hang on for dear life on 200bhp monsters on a really fast bumpy airfield track after seeing the GP guys at Jerez.
  24. Good luck with the rest of the Rally Martin! With your quiz expertise you will do well! Guy
