    Wet Rosso

    Or just stop washing it!
  2. Good luck Martin- looks like a good crack and a great excuse to go exploring some nice roads.
  3. Just noticed that Corsa Italiana in London have got a new website with a few V11 goodies for sale. http://www.corsaitaliana.com/index.php?f=data_moto_guzzi&a=2 Guy
  4. The reason I have a spare is that a few winters ago I had the alternator cover (from my old 1100 Sport Corsa) off the bike and clamped to a bench so I could polish all the salt corrosion off it. As soon as the drill mop brushed the badge, the eagle went flying off and I could not be arsed to stick it back on, hence it has remained on a shelf ever since. No use to me any more. Just got the one I am afraid Carl! Guy
  5. PM me with your address and I'll post it to you next week. Regards Guy
  6. I have a spare one somewhere- you are welcome to it. Guy
  7. I guess at the end of the day, the only way to compare different bikes is to put them on the same dyno at the same time. Guy
  8. Here are the results of a recent dyno run for my Rosso Corsa. I am running Mistral silencers / Stucchi crossover / lidless airbox with K and N filter element. Custom PC111 USB map was produced by Hobbsport racing in Keighley, UK. Motor has around 7000 miles and it otherwise standard. I am particularly pleased with the increase in torque throughout the mid range, which is very noticeable when riding it. Peak torque is 71.9ft lbs and peak rw power is 78.7bhp. ECE correction factor was 0.942. Guy
  9. Track Time Promotions- price is £99. I have used them before and they are a professional outfit with high safety standards. The 15th is a Sunday. I tend to track the availibilty of places and make a decision nearer the time, based on weather forecast. Hopefully it will be warm and sunny!
  10. Hi KB What a fantastic circuit! Did you do the Guzzi club track day there in 2001? What a great day that was! I am up for doing another on 15th May at Ty Croes if you are interested. Guy
  11. Nobody buys a V11 just for top speed thrills! I think the top speed at max revs should be about 136mph- like Martin says piss poor for a big sportsbike. I took my V11 to Croft racetrack in September and the GSRX1000s and R1s were overtaking me at a very rapid rate of knots on the long straight- probably about 30 to 40 mph faster than my speed. I can just about stay even with most of the 600s on the straights, which is down to the torque of the Guzzi pushing me harder onto the straight. For me, the real satisfaction in owning a V11 is from cornering, picking a good smooth line and firing hard out of tight corners, enjoying the vibrations and noise. It is the sensations rather than the actual outright speed that does it for me. Whenever I ride my girlfriend's R6 I am reminded of how good Japanese bikes are at going fast but there is simply no soul compared to a big, slow throbby Guzzi. :
  12. Point please Jaap!!!

  19. Just read MCN- Le Mans Mk1 was number 15. Ducati 916 was voted number 1. Guy
  20. Cheer Jim! The great thing about these quizzes is that it make you look back at the history of motorcycle development, and you can see many examples of originality and ingenious design. There is nothing new out there today- shaft drive, watercooling, multicyclinders, monoshocks, desmo valves- all been done years ago before most of us were born!
