  1. If you dont mind me asking Jaap, how much is the instrument unit? The speedo on my V11 is bust and I am wondering how much the G & B unit is in comparison. Cheers Guy P.S. Reckon she will be ready for Sibbe?
  2. Congratulations! A very rare bike indeed- I believe only a handful were ever made.
  3. You are doing a great job there Jaap! How easy was the instrument unit to install?
  4. I'm dead jealous because they are some of my favourite roads! Last time we went was last July when it was 85 degrees and dry, apart from the last two days when we had huge thunderstorms! Have a great time and I hope the weather is kind to you. BTW the Beemers will fail miserably- I hope they have good breakdown cover.
  5. When I started I still had long hair and a youthful complexion! Was it 2007? I forget!
  6. Yes at last she is legal and on the road! Took her this morning to Holme Valley Autos in Honley who are very bike friendly and gave her a nice MOT certificate. I was a bit nervous taking her out for the first time but she felt pretty good straight away- apart from all the oil pissing on my boot from the leaking l/h rocker cover. After getting her taxed, I headed home, popped in a new rocker gasket, and then took her for a wet ride over the local moors, and then for a cup of tea at the Moonraker floating tearoom in Slaithwaite. Yes the tank badge is wonky- looked straight in the garage in winter, but needs refixing, and the rear shocks need less dampening, but apart from that she is fully sorted. I also noticed the rev counter on the Motogadget was under reading so recalibrated it on the move and she now works fine. Steering is ever so sweet, much sportier than any other Tonti I have ridden, and the big clip ons helped me muscle her around a few hairpins nicely. Yes it was all worthwhile!
  7. Thanks Orson- lovely pic!
  8. Now that the cafe racer is finished I want to use it, and need to buy a very large tank bag that can be fitted to a non-magnetic base. Been doing a bit of googling but whatever I find seems to be short and tall, rather than long and tall. Does anyone have any suggestions, or recommendations? Looking for about 40litre capacity and be able to make the most of the room on my huge tank. Cheers Guy
  9. Bugger! Helen's spring broke again yesterday- Mal is coming round to help me fix it today- PITA but best it broke here rather than in France in June! Great to have this reference info on the forum.
  10. Ralph- get outside and look at some real ones!
  11. You seem very well informed on these matters, Mr Webmaster!
  12. My own thoughts Jaap: Go for a darker grey- but I like the eagle logo. Dark grey would look good with deep red wheels.
  13. I like Rossi and obviously he is the greatest rider of this generation, but I hope it is a close championship and he does not dominate.
  14. I was going to put my thong on, oil myself up and pose for a few pics- is that what you had in mind?
  15. Now added metal tank badges (have to refix the other side cos its slightly wonky), £20 from eBay screen and Rizoma bar end mirror. Pictures do not give justice to the mirror- its a beautiful piece of work and you can actually see what is behind you. Just 3 idiot lights and the speedo sensor to wire in and then she is M.O.T'd. Combination of workload and crappy weather has made things drag on a bit but I am getting close!
  16. http://motoguzziworldclub.it/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=137:trofeo-moto-guzzi-10-griso-cup&catid=20:rotator&lang=it&Itemid=0 I think my very basic grasp of Italian translates as this is a kit you can buy to race a Griso in a one make series- presumably in Italy.
  17. I quite like the paint! I guessed it wasnt yours Jaap from the background of hills!
  18. Looks stunning- much better without the Quat D pipe- nice colour too.

I guess none of us will know the truth as to what is happening, but my local dealer was quite upbeat about the future of MG under Piaggio after a recent conference where the CEO made a point of promising more investment and new models for Guzzi, and acknowledging that things had not been so good in the last few years.
  20. Progress update on flab removal- I have now lost 4.4kgs which is nearly 10 pounds since 15th February so am well on target to hit 10 kgs by 1st June. Hard work but I am getting there! Thanks again to all my very kind sponsors who have helped raise £417.50 so far! http://www.justgiving.com/Guy-Lewis
  21. Very good of BILD to get behind Lewis Hamilton! F1 is atrociously boring- WSB / Moto GP / BSB / Road Racing have infinitely more thrills per lap than F1.
  22. Hi Andy Both Motomecca and Corsa Italiana sell them- but you may as well buy direct from Mistral in Italy- send an email to Micheli- he speaks English and will quote you a decent price. My link Cheers Guy
  23. Ratchet's ghost tapping on the window begging to be let back in again?
