  1. Friends who have been to Cuba have really enjoyed themselves. I'd think I would enjoy visiting and seeing the old American cars. Shame you guys in the States are not allowed to just hop on a plane and go there- maybe that will change one day.
  2. Not sure its not my bike! Found the photo from an old thread on this forum on google images!
  3. I like it- actually the very final version of the V11 Sport in 2004 had a very similar paint scheme- I think the Guzzi red is darker than the Ducati colour.
  4. Best wishes to everyone on the forum from Helen and myself- have a very happy and peaceful Christmas and 2010! In the UK we have decided we are sick of the mindless garbage in the music charts, especially the awful singers from talent shows like the X Factor (like American Idol) who for the last 4 years have been the number one single at Christmas. So this year there has been a huge campaign to buy Rage Against The Machine's Killing In The Name Of- and yes it sold 500,000 copies and is the Christmas number one which has annoyed Simon Cowell big time So to get in the Christmas groove, lets RAWK!! Guy
  5. Just got my new edition of the Road magazine and there are some very dodgy characters in there again- Huddersfield MAG with guns!
  6. I think the Quill recommendation is ideal you can pop into Warrington while on the way to the North West!
  7. Whereabouts are you visiting? Let me know and I will tyry and find you somewhere nearby. Cheers Guy
  8. Helen and I are active MAG members, as are most of our friends. Well worth the £20 per year knowing there are dedicated lobbyists fighting for us in Westminster. I think Guzzi riders are more likely to care about motorcycling and its future- there are at least 14 Guzzis owned by the guys and gals in the Huddersfield branch- more than the local Guzzi Club! Join Up!
  9. Don't ask me what it's like cos I haven't finished wiring it in yet. I'll be able to tell you next month hopefully. Look well built and I think its gonna be great. Guy
  10. Yes spot on Trevor! They are good panniers which expand to a huge capacity! Roberto if you can't buy Cargo items in Italy I am sure a UK dealer will post to you. Regards Guy
  11. Just maintenance and repair: My Rossa Corsa: New timing case gasket Rear drive box seal Speedo repair or replacement Helen's V11 Sport Replace steering head bearings Bleed clutch and brake fluid Cafe Racer Need to complete installation of Motogadget instrument unit- a friend is helping me with this next month Guy
  12. Great looking bike! The guy who made the seat is Tony Archer whose workshop is only 2 miles away. I simply took my seat base to him and described what I wanted. After further discussion turns out he has not put expensive gel in hence the low price of £40. I am sure he would do something similar for you. Tony Archer If you wanted gel you would probably be looking at around £90ish.
  13. Normally this time of year the silly bickering is in full swing but there is a strange air of calm. The good thing is that in the UK at least, V11s seem to be quite sort after, so there will be always be new owners out there needing to know what we think we know already. I'm looking forward to the meeting in Sibbe in September but that seems a long way off at the moment. Guy
  14. Has your friend fitted any nice looking aftermarket valve caps? They can be the cause of mystery lost air- solved a smilar problem with my V11 by putting the cheapo plastic ones back on!
  15. The short answer to your question is yes there are some idiots who still want to sensationalise biking. Some outlaw types turned up at one of our small rallies recently in a rusty old japanese car rather than on bikes! P.S. seems like a nice rally
  16. I have some nice metal badges to fit!
  17. Just rode her for the first time in nearly three years. I only went around the block on brand new tyres in the pissing rain but she felt just right straight away!! Ready in time for the snow! Guy
  18. Blimey not in the UK they arent!
  19. Have you seen the price of the new VFR? Link If the UK price is similar that puts it nearly £6k more than a Triumph Sprint ST- and thats before you add panniers!! So they have made it ugly, overweight, with a poor tank range- and to cap it all they have made sure its very expensive. I like it when Honda make Piaggio look proficient!!! Guy
  20. Not sure if the company exists any more Roy. I occasionally use Nikwax tent and fabric waterproofer on mine and this cleans, waterproofs and makes em go darker for a few days!
  21. Mmmmmmm I do appreciate a nice pie
  22. Now thats great for holiday weather but too hot to be at work! 8 degrees C here this morning int 'Uddersfield- very mild for this time of year. Still nice and warm in southern Spain- will be about 25 degrees today- now that is just right for me. Seriously considering moving to Spain or France in a few years time
  23. It was so wet I naturally assumed we were in the sea- I found a few mackerel in my boots afterwards.
  24. Careful Ben BFG will be shaking his walking stick at you!!!
  25. I like Terblanche's thinking- the whole point of launching a prototype at EICMA is to create discussion, and then use this feedback to create something real. I think the test will be if customers who would not ordinarily buy a Guzzi, now sit up and take notice, because they can only sell so many bikes to committed Guzzisti like most of us. With a few tweaks- maybe a proper headlight, half fairing, revised shock, wheels and numberplate you may have a nice little sports bike- will be interesting to see how much they weigh. I am sure a photoshop geek could create a few "what ifs"! P.S. I love "pointy" bikes!
