  1. It was Guzzbun- he kindly lent the bike to Gyles (RIP) who raced it in Thunderbikes last year.
  2. Nice pics Paul looks like a good trip. The Julierpass is a great road- wide sweeping bends rather than the narrow tight roads of many other passes.
  3. Hey that is a very interesting looking Guzzi shop!
  4. I agree! But will someone pay it anyway?
  5. When Guzzi announced the road legal MGS01 a few years back they said the newprice would be about £12k. Then when it actually became available as a track only machine price went up to £15k, and now it is listed at £17999. They seem to sit in showrooms for ages because not many Brits have that sort of money to spend on a track only bike so most end up getting bought by American or European buyers. Nice bike but on a race track I reckon a standard R6 would just as quick around most circuits.
  6. Well a lot of buyers from Europe are coming to the UK to buy bikes! The exchange rate can make it worthwhile.
  7. Rich B*stards Only
  8. Give me a TR6 over a Midget any day!
  9. I think not even one person from the UK will enter this unless they are connected to a dealer. Most riders have breakdown insurance, like to chose their own route and accomodation too. And you can get a flight for fifty quid! The whole thing is a joke. I will happily start guided tours to Italy if people are willing to pay that.
  10. £250 a night nearly?
  11. Just been reading about the Guzzi event Where Eagles Fly http://www.whereaglesfly.com/EN/ So lets get this right, Guzzi want punters to pay them nearly a £1000 to ride in the cold torrential rain from London to Milan in November? What will they see in Milan- Piaggios latest model range which will be about as exciting as collecting bus tickets. I bet there are thousands of Guzzisti queing up for this one- not! What a ridiculous event- why could they have not done something much more exciting in the summer, on nicer roads, maybe in the Dolomites? I think there will be much more enthusiasm from true Guzzisti for the protest in Mandello later this month at least it will still be warm and sunny then. Guy
  12. My friend Andy's alternator failed recently on his 1200 Sport as well- seems to be a reasonably rare issue though. Glad you got it sorted and are enjoying her. Triumph is good fun- very different from a Guzzi!
  13. I do a fair bit of riding abroad and don't mind riding on the right at all. Straight off the ferry, and as Jaap says follow the traffic and within 5 minutes you are tuned in. In fact I find it harder when I get back to to England to remember to ride on the left!
  14. Have another look- this time from a fan's camcorder- not sure what Rea could have done to avoid it? Where else would he have gone? Two top riders going at it- these things sometimes happen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Onrd5etb8DY
  15. How is she Phil? Did you enjoy yor trip to France?
  16. Well its not a vintage bike- it was built in 2000, has modern suspension, brakes, fuel injection and instruments, but with some classical styling. The idea was always to make my own take on a Guzzi cafe racer- not the same as everyone else's so I am not averse to the idea of modern components and cycle parts. But I understand your thoughts- everyone has their own taste!
  17. To be fair, the word racing incident comes to mid- don't think he meant to knock him off, or did anything dirty. I do think Haga may have blown it now- Spies looks good for the championship. Some really good riders in WSB these days- very entertaining.
  18. Very good! Thought Johnny Rea was fantastic on Sunday in race two when he blew away Spies on the last lap.
  19. Originally I was thinking of a light integrated into the rear seat unit but will now have a simply cat eye type light attached to a number plate hanger. Love the idea of LED strips but would not pass an MOT test unfortunately.
  20. A nice little cute bike but dynoed at 39rwbhp so not really that sporty
  21. You can do it yourself in the UK. Moto Strada fitted some lights (had to relocate oil cooler from behind fairing) indicators, R1 numberplate hanger and then got it registered with an MOT- think they said it was about £1000 in total. Also fitted immobiser because standard MGS has no ignition key. Guzzbun from this forum did his with no headlight and a daytime only MOT. The trouble is the MGS01 is way overpriced at £17999 in the first place- so those who are willing to pay even more to register one are few and far between. There will be no more Guzzi sports bike ever probably- so if anyone wants one better to build their own!
  22. ..so has the Guzzi factory in Mandello restarted motorcycle production like it normally does in September? Or is it shut forever? Anyone know the answer?
  23. I use Cargo Endurance panniers they are expandable and you can get a hell of a lot of stuff in them- crash tested too Not sure how available they are in the US of A.
  24. Having ridden both, the Bonnie has a much stronger motor than a Guzzi 750, with more tuning potential too if you fancy a bit more poke!
