  1. I noticed when I arrived in Ulster that I had some oil on the right hand side of my rear wheel- nothing to write home about, but after a few hours at 80mph on the way home, the leak had got a little worse and there was some on the edge of the tyre. There was no flood of oil dripping down from the box, but just a small stain indicating a small leak. All the bolts are tight, and I don't think it is the breather so I am guessing I may need to replace the seal(s), a job which I have never had to do before. Looking at the parts manual there are two seals, part numbers 90403850 and 90706958. Am I likely to need to replace both seals? Do I need any special tools for the job? Any advice much appreciated. Cheers Guy
  2. I can recommend the battered sausage with gravy!
  3. Great location nice people the annual forum meeting hits the spot once again!
  4. Great pics John! Wish I could have joined you! About to leave for Ken Bridge- and yes it's precipitating heavily.
  5. 10.30? That means I can squeeze in two extra pints!
  6. The Griso looks better in the green on vid than it does on studio shots. I guess he is trying to look cool by smoking a fag as he is riding- if he was truly cool he would have a pint of ale in one hand as well.
  7. Well I have just packed my stuff in the good old co-op carrier bags because I am sure my panniers will leak. This time of year it is difficult to know what to gear to wear- if I wear leathers will I just end up getting soaked? If I wear my winter gore-tex will I boil in traffic when the sun comes out? I'll decide in the morning! We will be leaving late morning and aim to be in Ken Bridge about 4pmish- looking forward to meeting Mr & Mrs Trevor and Jaap at the hotel. Think we will need to get away for about 7.15am on Friday morning which probably means missing breakfast at the hotel The 10am starts for the ride outs are a great idea- will stop me from drinking too much Guinness! Guy
  8. D'oh!
  9. Thanks Søren! Sounds like you will have your work cut out entertaining! We'll miss Søren with the sporren! Regards Guy
  10. Oooh its so close now! David- what's your thoughts on bike security at the hotel in Portaferry- is it a reasonably quiet place? Will the bikes be out of sight of the road? Just wondering whether to bring a chain as well as a disc lock. Heard from Jaap earlier- he had a fun time watching the nutters at a track day at Cadwell. Guy
  11. Maybe the Bellagio motor in a Tonti frame- a Le Mans Vintage? With a Tonti frame you could give it the look of a LM1 or V7 Sport. I'm not sure if the CARC rear end lends itself to cafe racer styling- well all the photoshopped abominations I have seen have been hideous anyway. Maybe now the factory have hired Terblanche he may come up with something different than we are used to.
  12. Bienvenue! Guzzis très jolies! Guy
  13. I did not think it looked good- inevitable but still tragic. Been in the garage working on the cafe racer all afternoon so missed other races- will have to watch the highlights.
  14. Hope nobody was seriously injured in whatever incident has stopped the race.
  15. Thanks! Watching it now! Those kerbs worry me!
  16. Hi Jaap This is where I stay if I am doing a track day at Cadwell- just a pub in a sleepy village with good food and beer: Black Horse There is a track day at Cadwell on the Monday- and an evening session too if you fancy watching the nutters go airborne over the famous Mountain. Guy
  17. Did someone finally shoot the previous owners?
  18. I have never been there but I believe there is a museum for old planes at Elvington near York. Edit- here is the website Yorkshire Air Museum
  19. Hi Jaap In Boston if you are very hungry you could eat at PJs Pie Pub PJs Pie Pub. The guy who runs it is an ex RAF pilot who makes a wicked pie. When you are near Louth you could stop at the famous Cadwell Park circuit- there may well be a track day there to watch. Kingston upon Hull is not the most prettiest of cities- maybe worth avoiding unless you have a special reason to go there. There are nicer more rural places not far away if you would prefer that as an overnight stay. In the Dales, you could head for Hawes for lunch at the cafe there, then onto Ribblehead, and maybe via Dent to Kendal. See you at Ken Bridge- and give us a shout if you want to stay in Huddersfield one night. Regards Guy
  20. Just a few more jobs to do- she is shaping up nicely!

    Weight

I remember Mal weighed his V11 Le Mans and off the top of my head it was about 250kgs.
  22. Errrrm plenty of beer (Thrappeldouser), whisky and bad dancing. Roberto Tenni's V11 won best bike trophy as chosen by Haydn's kids! A few more pics:
