  1. Pics from this weekend's MGCGB Scottish Rally. V11s were one of the most popular bikes with at least 11 on the rally site. Great time had by all! Mrs Guzzirider's V11 Sport Mr Guzzirider's Rosso Corsa Mal's Le Mans Roberto Tenni's Tenni Grossohc's Cafe Sport Harry's Rosso Corsa- he spends more time cleaning than riding!
  2. From what I can gather, all 8V bikes are being recalled. When I got my recall work done there was no paperwork but I assume the work has been registered on Guzzi's database, so I guess a dealer could tell you whether a particular bike has had the modifications done.
  3. So you have been given a job on the Mandello complaints hotline? Have you received 40 calls from Belfastguzzi? Quality photos by the way!
  4. Congrats on the new bike! If you want to meet some other V11 owners there is the Moto Guzzi Club GB rally at Guildtown near Perth next weekend- I can recommend it as an excellent bash. If you are quick you can still get a ticket- details here Booking details There is also the V11 Forum meeting in Ulster next month- a few of us are meeting at the Ken Bridge Hotel in New Galloway before heading to the ferry at Stranraer. Cheers Guy
  5. Sorry to hear that Euan- good luck with the court date and have fun in Mandello. Will you be at Guildtown this year?
  6. I would write to the importers and inform them you are dissatisfied with their proposed repair, and ask them to reconsider and fit a new engine, or failing that, a full refund in line with your rights as a consumer. You could also mention you are happy to help MCN write an article on the 8V recall issue, and make public the way you are being treated. Send it recorded delivery and state that you are keeping copies of all correspondence in case you need to take legal action. Make it much less hassle for them to simply give you a new motor- I know you should not have to go to all this trouble but making yourself a big pain in their arse will hopefully make them change their mind. Hope you get it sorted. Guy
  7. They advertised it as being online- I watched it on Eurosport!
  8. Will hopefully be run tomorrow!
  9. ......on the BBC website http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/7677201.stm 125cc race decided after just 4 laps due to rain. Moto GP should be entertaining in the wet conditions!
  10. I remember someone at Agostinis telling me he had seen a real prototype of the Monza knocking about the factory a couple of years ago- I doubt its ever going to happen though.
  11. Not all the relays are interchangeable- some have 4 pins and some 5 pins. A 5 pin will work where there is normally a 4 pin, but not visa versa, so be carful when swapping. But it does sound like it may be related to relays- are they the crappy siemens relays?
  12. Shame but there are plenty of nice places other than Inchigeelagh- maybe we ought to have a meet in the Republic one day- maybe Connemara or Dingle way, or even Donegal.
  13. Any news BFG?
  14. By coincidence I know the guy who is selling this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Moto-Guzzi-special-d...A1%7C240%3A1318
  15. Jaap is a tall guy- think he has a higher seat and big bars on his V11.
  16. A new dealership has opened in Southampton: http://www.motoguzzisouthampton.com/ These guys are true Guzzisti.
  17. Cheeky feckers- I'm sure a bit of lobbying from yourself will mean you get the whole journey free but you do not need the hassle. I think the Stelvio will be the last ever new Guzzi I buy- they don't deserve any more business in my eyes. Gonna stick to the old shite from now on.
  18. Update Picked up my rebuilt wheels this afternoon from CWC- they have new Morad alloy rims which have been powder coated black, with stainless butted spokes. Rear now wears an 18 inch rim, and both are shod in brand new Sport Demons. Look beautiful. Picked up the seat pad made by local guy Tony Archer- it is filled with gel and should be more comfy than it looks. He charged me £40 for that- great guy. Maxton should have finished rebuilding the forks on Monday. Have quite a few finishing jobs to do but biggest job will be getting some custom made rear sets manufactured which should be done next month- on the road end of April hopefully! Guy

    I'm in love

Very tasteful. I do however like skinny 18 inch wheels on a Tonti- modern 17 inchers just don't loook right, even though I am sure they work well.
  20. I remember breaking down on a remote mountain in the Pyrenees when I had a puncture on my Jackal. I called Guzzi assistance- they asked me to fax through a copy of the registration document before they would process my claim!! I was in the middle of f*cking nowhere!!!!!
  21. Its a good looking bike, but have you seen the price? For a bike with 48bhp? I rode a 750 Breva (similar engine) loan bike the other day and it was truly awful- felt more like a 250 on the open road. £6200? Its a complete joke. I don't mind twins that compensate for low power if they have lots of torque but that old Nevada engine deserves to be on the scrap heap. Imagine the real Tonti framed Guzzi cafe racer you could build with £6200. Or you could buy an A1 condition original V7 Sport that will hold its value and last forever. They will sell a few when its launched, then the rest will sit gathering dust in the showrooms like the Bellagio which is also way overpriced, hence nobody buys them.
  22. Shame you can't make it matey. But a meeting in the Swiss Alps sounds ace!
  23. Email Micheli at Mistral direct and he will give you a price. Link shown above here on sponsor's banner.
