  1. It is bad enough on a normal Sunday afternoon! Should be a great spectacle though. Please share some pics. Looking forward to Le Tour passing close to our house in Yorkshire next year.

  3. My friend Mal has some brackets and light for sale- PM me and I will share his details with you. Cheers Guy
  4. Whatever the problem is she can be rebuilt and be better than new!
  5. Interestingly the press release does mention some models that pre-date Piaggio's take over e.g. 2003 Tuono which was sold at the same time as the V11. I don't know for sure that ethanol will harm a V11 but I think there are questions to be asked.
  6. Not sure and unfortunately there is no visibility about which fuel companies use the highest percentages of ethanol. I understand that higher octane fuels like V Power have less (or even no) ethanol so I am sticking to that rather than using cheap supermarket fuel which possibly has the highest percentage of ethanol.
  7. Piaggio have confirmed that the V11 is not on their list of ethanol proof bikes. http://www.servicemotoguzzi.com/public/com_tech_X/comuGuzzi/Common/en/004-2011.pdf
  8. Really enjoyed it- and the Moto 2 race. Yamaha should give Cal a motor as quick as the factory bikes and he would be right up there rather than struggling to hang on in the straights.
  9. Great progress- looking good!
  10. A decent paintshop should be able to match it after a computer scan.
  11. The cylinder assemblies are different part numbers but maybe it is possible?
  12. The old plastic elbow can be a pain to remove from the pump assembly because it has a toothed washer holding it in place, so you may need to carefully drill it out. The new one will need to be delicately tapped in with a light mallet.
  13. Guinness tuning i was wrong apparently it was only 139 bhp!
  14. If you are able to get hold of a copy of the latest Classic Racer magazine there is an interesting article about Dr John and his 4 valve racer. At the end, it mentions that he is currently restoring his earlier 2 valve racer, and will be bringing it to track when it is finished.
  15. P.S. Massive respect to the Britten- lets raise a glass to men in sheds who have a vision!
  16. I remember watching Paul Lewis wrestling that monster of a Guzzi in horribly wet conditions at Thruxton. I really wanted that bike. In 2007, when I was overtaken on the Park Straight at Cadwell by the Raceco Daytona during a track day, I really wanted that bike. I had felt its presence for a few bends prior, and when it blitzed past me it was like the apocolypse, the ground shaking like an earthquake, blasting my face with a wall of thunder as it disappeared into the distance. My friend Bruce who owned it at the time had detuned it to about 140bhp at the wheel so he could use a starter motor, but it was still a missile. The Raceco Daytona is now road registered, and lives in Scotland. I could not afford it when it was up for sale a couple of years ago, so Bruce kindly made me one of my own. Frame mods are the same so the wheelbase is 2.5 inches shorter than stock, motor is 1225cc, weight about 200kgs wet. Not a exact replica, more of an interpretation.
  17. Quota is a quirky beast- the 1100ES version steers and handles remarkably well (it was designed by Dr John Wittner), but it is hard to get the fuelling right with the single injector. I am going to fit some twin V11 injectors and manifolds to mine to help her run better and improve economy. Great for the bumpy moorland roads and cheapish to buy too, if you can find a good one.
  18. If it is still unsold by April bring it down to the Guzzi Club GB Scottish Rally with a For Sale sign and get pissed with the rest of us!
  19. Well I hope you find a bike that suits your needs Rob. If I had more space I'd offer to let you store it down here with the hope that more punters would come and see it but my garage is full to the brim!
  20. Good excuse to keep it if you can! Sod 'em!
  21. I have gone for a Motogadget on my Cafe Racer.
  22. Well done! I am sure its been tough so have some fun!
  23. You can now get overhaul kits http://www.gutsibits.co.uk/pr/TheShop/index.php?q=BRA19723&f=d&Model=0&search=SEARCH
  24. It is possible to put the old style bodywork on a Daytona RS. My RS has pattern race bodywork from the same moulds as the original Raceco Daytona: I have a couple of rough unfinished spare fairings for sale if anybody needs one. Guy
  25. And quite how did you end up browsing such "special interest" websites Hubert????
