  1. Well you are only a short ferry hop from the Tank Shop near Dumfries if you fancied something similar.
  2. I wonder why someone would need a giant car? Are they exceptionally tall and wide? A family of 13? Or another reason?
  3. A cool looking bike. The little Italy Griso's clip ons are angled nearly straight- I guess to stop them bashing the tank on full lock. Is it my imagination, or does the Zero bike have some dents bashed into the tank to allow more clearance for the bars? Some adjustable high rise Tarozzi clip ons would probably work ok- could be angled just enough to clear the tank, and allow a comfortable stretch to the bars.
  4. Looks good with clip ons. Think the paint job is a bit fussy- plain colour would be better.
  5. Have not been there, but its on my list one day. I'm expecting it to be a bit glitzier and modern than the loveable old Mandello museum.
  6. Did you visit the Ducati factory while you were there?
  7. How long did the original global warming thread go on for?
  8. When my V11 speedo indicated 140mph, the GPS showed 129mph.
  9. My recommendation is to wear a coat, and if you get cold, maybe a hat and gloves.
  10. Excellent. Thanks for sharing Paul. Cheers Guy
  11. Antonio was selling a shock recently- not sure if it still for sale. Beautiful job Dimitris!
  12. Well Valentine's Day is only around the corner.....
  13. I guess we will need proof of vaccinations and a pet passport for the Haggis. There was another guy from Ulster called David who used to go to our local branch of the Guzzi Club- he used to tell me about the days when he smuggled poteen on that sailing- he always used to pack a couple of spare bottles as pressies for the customs officers!
  14. Mal and I stayed there two weeks ago when I collected my cafe racer from the Tank shop- friendly as ever! An evening of pie, ale and whisky- and no mobile phone signal! What more could a man want?
  15. Looking good! Are you still thinking of changing handlebars?
  16. Ok I have just booked our ferries: 22nd May Stranraer- Belfast 9.50am (same as Jaap) 25th May Belfast - Stranraer 12.15pm I am going to try and get booked in at Ken Bridge hotel on the night of Thursday 21st- Jaap do you want to stay over too? Cheers Guy P.S. Used Nutt travel £79 each return Edit- have booked Ken Bridge for the night of Thurs 21st. They have other rooms available still.
  17. Golly gosh this is a blooming long winter!
  18. Yes so far! Very wide though!!! More room than Guzzi panniers which are not waterproof and have been known to melt and warp next to the high exhaust
  19. I'm only little!
  20. Very clever- and you have captured my best side too.
  21. Anything is possible with the right time and effort! You could even get someone like John at the Tank Shop to make you a custom alu tank and tailpiece- about £500. This is a nice Belgian Centauro we saw at the V11 meeting in Sibbe 2007.
  22. Just been looking at the line up of bikes and riders in WSB- in addition to the usual suspects, BMWS1000RRs and Aprilia V4s are joining in too- and are pretty much on the pace at the first test session and it looks as though the grids will be packed with a mixture of experience and some hungry young riders. WSB test results In contrast, the Moto GP grid is shrinking with Kawasaki pulling out. Eurosport have been dumped in favour of the BBC, who now that they have Formula One will be relegating Moto GP to "red button" coverage and they are continuing with their lacklustre commentators. Obviously Rossi and the gang will still get it on come race day, but I have a feeling that WSB will be the best series to watch this year. First WSB race is Philip Island in a month's time- can't wait! Guy
  23. I'm not a very emotional man, but whenever one of these flies over me at an air show or at the Goodwood Revival, my heart beats faster and I feel very proud to be British. I'll never be a pilot (although I used to be a space cadet) but if I was, I'd love to own one. The noise at full chat is spine tingling and totally awesome. Low flypast
  24. Its been sitting there gathering dust for ages- don't think a bike like an MGS01 is easy to sell in this current economic climate. I would guess a bid around the £15k mark may get it? The original championship winning Raceco Daytona is also up for sale if anyone is interested- see MGCGB site. Now thats a proper race bike! Guy
