  1. The best use of pewter! Good luck with your search!
  2. Nice bike Euan! Looks like a proper racer!
  3. Good luck to him- he has a tough job and a lot of stuff to sort out!
  4. No padding yet Gary-its just a bare seat unit- I will get a local guy to make it nice and comfy!
  5. A few dark teasers- I won't take any proper pics until she is finished= the work John at the Tank Shop has done is excellent- the Imola Seat looks good too. So many jobs to get her finished now. P.S. She is very very shiny!
  6. 146mph is damn fast for a Guzzi! Get thrown in jail for a few months if you do that these days!
  7. Just out of interest Pete, what was your top recorded speed on your recent dyno run?
  8. That's a classic- never get tired of hearing it. Now lets get a bit heavier- Sepultura from Brazil Think the video is great.
  9. Nice lid but fecking expensive even at the discounted price! Bet it is light though.
  10. Ooooh the tank, seat and bodywork are nearly finished! Am going back up next weekend to collect her- then I can start sorting all the other jobs like wheels, forks, cables, hoses and electrics. Should get her on the road for April!
  11. Just watched most of it- great video which gives a flavour of the roads and locality.
  12. The Jackal is a great bike- underrated and much better looking in my opionion than the shiny EV. Just like the V11, relays can be a weak point but easily rectified. Fuel cap can stick but a bit of lubing with white grease into the lock mechanism can prevent this. If it still has the stock cheapo Sachs shocks worth swapping these and the standard non-adjustable Marzocchis react well to uprating the internals. Seat is a bit thin and hard for long distances- I got mine rebuilt. If you ride with lots of luggage and pillion may be worth upgrading to a second front disc if this has not been done already- you can buy a kit to do this but its quite expensive. Handling is superb for a cruiser and nearly as fast as a V11. Guy
  13. I have made a few cosmetic alterations to my V11 last year: 379 dead flies attached to headlight / forks Black "stealth" clutch fuid Scrappy bits of silver duct tape to waterproof the bottom tail piece Shagged rear tyre Special one off no action speedo needle Black "stealth" K & N filter pods Cost me nowt! Bling Bling!!
  14. Oh yes I could turn her back to 100% standard trim in an afternoon.
  15. Just took her out for a (very cold) ride. Too much fun for me to sell her- she is a cracking little bike with so much character and plenty of poke. She stays and I will keep her roadworthy.
  16. Wishing everyone on the V11 Le Mans.com forum a very Happy New Year! Have a great 2009!! Guy & Helen
  17. I believe the new V7s have a fair bit less poke than the Thruxton but are lighter. You can get 75bhp out of a Thruxton with a big bore kit- I would buy one over the V7 if I was in the market for that sort of bike. I rode a Breva 750 once (same motor) and it was as flat as a pancake.
  18. She needs larger cylinders!
  19. I used to own an Elise for 5 years- and the reason why that car is so good at what it does is low mass- 770kgs which makes 120bhp seem very fast (for a car) and the handling is beautifully balanced. They spoilt the car completely as soon as they started fitted electric windows, ABS, airbags, servo brakes etc just to please other markets- completely against Colin Chapman's principles but understandable from a commercial point of view. I think the Tesla is a step in the right direction- and it makes you wonder what sort of electric car will exist in 10 years time- obviously technology is getting on a bit. Clarkson can be funny, but deep down he is a small minded prat. This is pure class: Clarkson Island
  20. He has a sensational voice- very special Spoonman
  21. I understand the car was damaged- a few chips at the front and the rear was battered.
  22. North Yorkshire police have been running Subaru Impreza WRX STis for several years- both marked and unmarked. You are very likely to meet one if you speed anywhere near the A65. I guess the people that normally run away are either thieves, drunk, evading another offence that they are wanted for or just plain stupid. When you get caught jail is very likely. Two weeks ago 4 young lads stole an Impreza and crashed into a chip shop in Bradford whilst being pursued- and they all burnt to death horribly. Guess they won't be doing it again.
  23. Welcome Tom- and cheers John for the nice pics!
  24. Last thing I heard was that Amadeo at Raceco had stopped working on Guzzis and only worked on kits cars now with Ford motors. Have you spoke to him recently? Is he back doing Guzzis again? He would be the best guy to answer your query re carbs. I think Pete Hindley who raced an 1100 Sport at the Manx GP a couple of years back used Mikunis. Good luck with your project Guy
  25. Half the bits end up on her V11 Sport anyway! Her bike already has an Ohlins rear shock, and Maxton forks- its nearly as good as the Rosso.
