Altbergs- comfortable enough to wear all day and walk in, waterproof with reasonable protection. They can be resoled too. I have two pairs- a thick heavy winter pair, and some lighter ones for hot summer use abroad(don't need them in Britain obviously!). Even French blue dragonflies love 'em so they must be good.

Been a glorious day in Yorkshire- sunny, dry and not too cold- went down to 6 degrees on the tops but that was fine in the bright sunshine. Had a super ride out over Rishworth moor, Widdop moor then back over Haworth moor. Hardly any cars on the back roads. Guy

Thanks for the ideas guys! The Jackal already has exactly the same headlight as a V11 Sport but I don't like the plastic bowl. I was thinking last night maybe I could simply buy a chrome bowl and swap it for the plastic bit. Unfortunately I don't think Tommaselli make brackets big enough to fit 45mm forks sO I may go for these from M & P which I can hopefully mount some indicators on too. Any other ideas much appreciated! Cheers Guy

I have stripped off the paint from my Jackal valve covers- and have polished them several times on my bench- beginning to look good. Will post pics when I have finished. Have bought some Belgolm Alu to coat them with when I have finished to prevent corrsion. Guy

I want a great looking but effective headlamp for my cafe racer- all I can find on the net is either traditional Lucas style 7inch jobs (look fine but will probably have a crappy beam) or nasty looking streetfighter lamps which look awful. Anyone got another suggestions? I'd like it to be a chrome finish, look traditional but work well. Could also do with some suggestions for nice headlamp brackets that will fit 45mm forks, and mount mini indicators too. Many thanks Guy

Exactly- here is a replica of his lid. He was a genius on Two Wheels- awesome on the IOM, and he managed to hustle a Ducati 996 Superbike around Donnington in a BSB round quicker than Rossi on his RCV.

If you want good forks but not worried about the gold bling, Maxton will transform your old Marzocchis- Richard rebuilt the forks used by the TT V11 Tenni and will do the same for you- price is about £400.

The reason the factory Tenni has Ohlins is that it was crashed on its journey to North Africa so the fcatory simply used what it had lying around to repair it.

That Aprilia V4 sounds wicked- there is a vid clip on the MCN website of it being thrashed around a race track. My money is on Shakey Byrne to win the WSB on the Sterilgarda Ducati.

In response to popular demand I am starting a Rosso Corsa register, so we can get an idea of how many bikes were made, and which countries they ended up in. Everyone who knows anything about bikes knows that the Rosso Corsa is the ultimate edition of the V11, with proper Swedish suspension (not like the cheap and nasty stuff they fitted to the Tenni and Rosso Mandello), and proper clip ons unlike the effeminate high rise bars of the Cafe Sport and Coppa Italia (Grandma has a bad back so she needs high bars!). There are even rumours that the Rosso Corsa had a slightly higher compression motor. And obviously red is the colour you need on an Italian bike- anything else (black or green for example) is simply wrong. So let me know who you are, where you are, year of bike and your frame number.
