  1. Shouldn't you be working, Mrs Guzzirider? x
  2. Hmmm may take the Stelvio but seeing as it is a V11 bash reckon I may take the neglected old gal. Guy
  3. We are up for it BFG. Let me know if you need any help putting it together. Guy P.S. Antonio will have a 1200 Sport on the road by then.
  4. I remember having some great dices with a Hayabusa around Knockhill circuit a few years back when I used to have an 1100 Sport Corsa. In the friendly banter between sessions, the Busa rider said he could not believe how hard the Guzzi pulled out of bends and he was thrashing the tits off his 145bhp rocket to keep up with an 80bhp dinosaur. The start / finish straight is very short, and he could just get by me by the end before I nipped past again a few bends later on the brakes- we did this for about 40 laps! I quite like black Busas but would get banned for speeding within a week if I had one. Guy
  5. Best bet would be to join a fan's forum- I am sure someone would be willing to offload last season's shirt. Cheers Guy P.S. At least its not Man Utd like everyone else and their dog!
  6. Hi Van Best wishes to Tom and yourself- there is light at the end of the tunnel! Take care matey Guy
  7. Sounds like you got a censored version Steve- I watched the race live and it was very unpleasant to watch, especially the aftermath. Eurosport had the decency to pan away as soon as the severity of the crash was apparent, but that has not stopped some sickos posting footage on You Tube.
  8. Craig died in hospital after a sickening accident at the WSS race at Brands Hatch yesterday. He was fighting for the lead when he crashed. He was only 23 and had masses of talent and potential. RIP matey.
  9. No way- I have been a couple of times- you can't see a thing. It is a short hillclimb held in a park with huge hay bales blocking the view. Revival is miles better- proper racing on the Goodwood circuit with loads of room for the crowd.
  10. Ok well most British companies will soon have the acronym RIP after their name in the current economic climate!
  11. I tend to use the higher octane options at the pump- either 97 or 99 RON. No problems at all.
  12. Yes maybe we can have a V11 mini meeting there next year! If you wear period dress you can get in the pits for free so my 1950s army surplus mechanics overalls may be worn. The hillclimb is a different event called the Festival Of Speed- quite good fun but you can't see much due to the highly stacked hay bales. The Revival is much better because you can see racing on the open track. If you ever wonder whether old guys like Stirling Moss still have it, the answer is yes- they are still awesomely fast and race like they are still fighting for world championships. Makes modern Formula 1 look very tame.
  13. Just ordered our tickets for the Goodwood Revival in September. I have not been for a while- last time I went was about 8 years ago and Barry Sheene won both classic bike races on a Manx Norton. Great atmosphere- priceless classic racing cars and bikes getting thrashed and crashed by the men who piloted them in the 50s / 60s / 70s. Access to the pits and the awesome sound of Spitfires as they fly inches above your head! I can recommend it as a great day out if you are a fan of classic motorsport, with the noise alone being worth the entrance fee. Video
  14. When I was a kid, my Dad used to drive us down to St Tropez every year for our family holiday. Back then, total nudity was in vogue, not just topless, at a time when the UK was still very backward and prudish, with topless bathing being illegal. My little brother and I used to enjoy walking up and down the beach admiring the lovely French ladies. UK is much more relaxed this days, with topless bathing now accepted, and even nude beaches for the hairy fat men who like to get it out!
  15. Surprisingly, Enzo is not full of shit on this particular discussion- as you can see from my dyno graph there are gains over 75% of the rev range for both power and torque, and it is this extra shove that makes the bike feel more powerful, although peak power remains the same. By all means fit the FBFs if you want to enhance your V11, but if you want something really fast buy a Ducati. Mal helped fit mine (I made the tea!)- I vaguely remember the circlip on the gudgeon pin being very fiddly but apart from that it all went smoothly, as Greg says its just a straight swap.
  16. Hope the bastards get caught by an angry mob and have their family jewels removed with two bricks. Call me Mister Liberal.
  17. I have had this problem on a couple of Guzzis and each time it turned out to be a dicky solenoid.
  18. I think we will have to recreate that video at the next V11 meeting in Ireland.
  19. I think Stoner is made of stonger stuff- remember he is the champ, and although Rossi truly whipped him, there are 8 races left and he is not the type to get pysched out, and not every circuit will avail itself to blocking tactics like Laguna and where Stoner can blast off into the distance he will. Think its gonna be a close one even though Vale has the upper hand at the moment.
  20. Looking good mate! My progress is slow- still waiting for John at the Tank shop to start my tank etc. I'll get some of the other jobs finished once the summer is over. Cheers Guy
  21. Have just noticed that on Sunday is it WSB from Brno, BSB from Oulton Park then in the evening (in Europe) Moto GP from Laguna Seca- all on Eurosport. Won't get much done on Sunday- I'll be hungover from a friend's wedding so good excuse to do nowt but watch telly.
  22. Guzzi claimed a power output of 105bhp for the old 1200 Sport ( ) so I wonder what they claim for this one- 130bhp and only weighs 180kgs?
