  1. Well it would be really weird not to wear ladies clothes.
  2. Tuning a two valve motor V11 motor is very expensive- you could bolt in a Centauro or Daytona motor with a little effort, put in fast cams and have 100bhp at the back wheel for much cheaper than throwing thousands of dollars at your existing motor. Saying that, a V11 motor is one of the best engines to ride that Guzzi have ever produced and will have a nice spread of power for the road in comparison to the Daytona engine.
  3. What is the procedure to lube the manual petcock? Can one simply drizzle a light oil down inside the turning drum with the device in place? That is exactly what I do Docc- have not had one seize since I started doing that. Cheers Guy
  4. If you're talking about the stock item fitted to 02 bikes not sure "work perfectly" is entirely accurate, Guy. Always feels a little soft & fragile to me. First time I removed tank, thought I'd turned it right off, but thread had snagged part-way (maybe a bit off grit) & when pulled pipe it flooded the shed w fuel, couldn't get the b****** pipe back on, petrol pouring everywhere. I've never been able to get mine to shut off completely & it'll always dribble a little fuel when I take tank off. Maybe I just got a bad one ? KB Maybe I should have said work well if you add a bit of lube now and then- the manual tap on Helen's V11 Sport did seize open when I did not lube it for years, and had to unseize it in the vice. Still prefer them to the horrible electric petcocks which are very fragile, and have changed the electric petcocks on my other Guzzis to the old style.

    Griso

If anyone chooses to buy it, I think we may have a spare set of used Griso 1200 forks and yokes at work. Drop me a PM if you need them.
  6. Just put a manual valve on- Guzzi ones are very cheap, work perfectly and are not fragile like the electric version. Cheers Guy
  7. I thought suede seats and that kind of thing were either illegal or at the very least frowned upon in Ireland. Place must be getting much more liberal and fair play to Fergal for being brave enough to show it in public. Tyres nicely scorched BFG have you been playing on the track?

    V7 Racer

Sounds like a very dodgy publication to me! Give me Razzle any day.
  9. Sounds like a great project! Do you have the 4 valve motor already? Because if not I know where there is a low mileage one for sale.
  10. Helen has Mistrals on her V11 which are E marked with the baffles removed. I have carbon Mistrals on my Daytona. Sound nice without being too anti-social and the bikes run well with them. Good value for money pipes.
  11. This is for sale in Oirland near BFG's gaff. Bit pricey but maybe he will take an offer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=guzzi+sport+corsa&_sacat=9800&_odkw=guzzi+sport+corsa&_osacat=0
  12. You can now build a whole replica full size full power Spitfire from an expensive kit: http://www.spitfireaircraftco.com/kits.html
  13. So a penguin is driving his car in the desert. All of sudden his car breaks down. Luckily, he's pretty close to petrol station. So he waddles behind his car and pushes it to the petrol station. He asks the mechanic to take a look and find the problem. Mechanic tells him to come back in 30 minutes. So the penguin is getting hot being in the desert and all, and decides to find something to cool him off. He goes in the convenience store and buys some vanilla ice cream. He eats the ice cream and makes a big mess on his face. Finally he goes back to the mechanic to find out the problem. Mechanic says," Looks like you blew a seal." To which the penguin replies, "No, no. It's just a little ice cream." I will get me coat.....
  14. Have you checked your battery voltage while the engine is revving? If you are getting around 17 volts rather than high 14s then a faulty regulator / rectifier could be the cause of your blown bulbs.
  15. I vaguely remember Macguzzi fitting some to his Scura.
  16. Thanks for the info- I heard they were delaying the enforcement of the breath test kits until November but thought I would double check what happened to you because I am visiting France again next month.
  17. Looks like a great trip! Did the police take a breath test or just check you had 2 kits with you? Guy
  18. then decide to further go on with Beemers .. Hubert Now that is just plain dirty. This is a family forum you know- no need to discuss these perversions. Guy
  19. I don't know if Guzzbun is still lurking about but I think he ought to post some pics of his 4 valve engined Scura- looks great in the flesh.
  20. How is your Scura BFG? Has it seen the light of day since the infamous V11 meeting in Scotland where I crashed, and your bike blew over when you stopped to kindly help me?
  21. RS has 17 inch wheels, faster motor, better suspension, different ECU, same bodywork as Sporti. I prefer the looks of the earlier model.
  22. I am looking for 3 x GU30104900 which is the tank fuel return elbow connector for an early Daytona. I need these so we can run adjustable pressure regulators on 3 project bikes. Have tried the usual places but they are discontinued. Anybody have one, or any ideas? Cheers Guy
  23. It will be a shame to see her go. For such a rare bike I would aim high with your asking price.
  24. I must admit to reading that forum and not having a f*cking clue what everyone is on about- some very clever home fiddlers out there! I bought a used Jeffries ECU from Jaap for my 1225 Daytona, and will run the new motor in on the current map, but there is a possibility that a dyno guy in the Midlands will be conversant with the Jeffries by the time I am ready for a custom map- will let you know how it goes. Cheers Guy
  25. I used to smile when I saw the prices that some rich guys were paying for choppers- sometimes £25k plus. Many of the shops that made them are now bust and cafe racers are the new thing.
