It's been a long time since we had a discussion about cocks- may I present Charles, my Dad's cock who resides in Jarnac, France. He is a handsome fella and knows how to keep the ladies happy: -
I understood that from the info released by Guzzi that the Griso was slightly more powerful, but with a sportier power delivery.

Interesting- I guess your Ghezzi will be lighter than a V11 so will be faster. The Stelvio feels a fair bit quicker than my Rosso Corsa- especially at the top end where she wants to take off. I think the Stelvio is deceptively quick, because the ride is so good you do not realise how fast you are going. Now I am getting used to mine, I gave her a bit of stick yesterday (without completely thrashing her- still running in) and she was awesome on fast twisty and bumpy roads- can't imagine going faster on any other Guzzi.

I am a fan of the offbeat and quirky too- although I missed Resless Natives- just checked that it was released in 1985 when I was 18- I was too busy riding my CB100N, drinking cider and trying to woo the girl who worked at the local chippy.
-
It was released in cinemas a few months ago- will be on DVD in June. Have not seen it myself yet but have been told its silly but fun. Phil Daniels who rides the Guzzi starred in Quadraphenia when he was a teenager, and also featured in Blur's song Parklife. I understand he had to learn to ride a bike for the film.

Did it when I was about 20 years old- took the silencers off the Lario to respray them one night, plan was to get up early and refit them in the morning before I rode to work. In the event, I woke up too late and decided to ride 7 miles to the local army base where I worked with no silencers- like armageddon, so noisy it was unbelievable. The rush hour traffic parted like the Red Sea as I filtered through, no danger of not being noticed! Silly but fun

If the weather is good then a trip to Applecross over the Pass Of The Cattle is a must. You can stay at the Applecross Inn but it is wise to book first. The roads and scenery are stunning. Go to Google Earth and type in Invergarry to Applecross in the directions tab- you must ride that road- fast open sweepers with fantastic views. A trip to nearby Skye if you have time is recommended too.

But its rather heavy and ugly! Thats why I have ordered a Mistral.
-
Nothing! They will come off when I get round to spending some time with her on Saturday. She is covered in salt / dirt too so I guess I better clean her.
-
One of those covers also stops you checking the oil at the roadside unless you have an allen key handy.
-
Good review Paul- your thoughts and opinions are pretty close to mine. I will let you know how I get on with the Mistral can I have ordered- whether it changes the nature of the power delivery. It will be lighter for sure.

Typical MCN rubbish- they say the Stelvio has the same motor as the 1200 Sport!

Excellent! Well here is a summary of the info for this meeting: Dates: Friday 16th May to Sunday 18th May. I am guessing that most riders will arrive on the Friday, and depart some time on the Sunday, but I guess there is nothing to stop you arriving earlier or leaving later, but please let the hotel know first if you need to book extra nights. Location: Address is here. Rideout: We will probably go on a rideout on the Saturday as discussed earlier in this thread. If you wish to join in, please note that some of the fantastic roads we will travel on are heavily policed due to the high number of bike fatalities, and if you do have an accident, you may be in a very remote area a long way from any medical help. Some of the roads are narrow, twisty, unforgiving and can catch you out, so I recommend you ride safely and obey the traffic laws. This is hopefully going to be a fun event and we don't want anybody injured or worse. Ok, safety lecture over- but it's important! Fuel: There is no fuel in Ken Bridge- I recommend you fill up before you arrive, or you may get stuck! Plenty of fuel in Dumfries / Stranraer depending upon which direction you are coming from- if you see a petrol station and do not know where the next one is, fill up! Edit- just spoken to Dave the landlord- there is petrol 2 and a half miles north of Ken Bridge but I would still fill up if in doubt-. ATM No ATM in Ken Bridge, but if you have a UK debit card you can do cashback. If in doubt, take some cash with you. Weather: Just be prepared for anything- it may be very warm and sunny, or it may be cold, wet and windy- maybe in the same day! Food and drink: I have camped at the hotel before and the food and drink is excellent- traditional Scottish fare with a good selection of beers! There is no local shop so stock up before you arrive if you wish to take your own provisions. Camping Please confirm to me if you are camping so I can let the landlord know rough numbers. The meeting will be very much a "turn up, chill out and do whatever you like" sort of affair- apart from a suggested route for the rideout it will be a case of do whatever suits you! Should be fun and I'm looking forward to it!! Let me know if you need any more help and information! Cheers Guy

Beautifull all Red Ballabio for sale in Scotland
Guzzirider replied to Jock Guzzi's topic in 24/7 V11
You are giving her away mate! -
Not far off now- just about 6 weeks or so away. Does everyone know how to get there etc, or do I need to provide more info? Cheers Guy

Well I was already very happy with my suspension!! And I am pleased with the minor engine mods I have made which have not broke the bank at all, and delivered a reasonable increase in mid range stonk.
-
I agree. Its all about making the most of your bike- not chasing Jap power figures but reasonable mods which can deliver a bit more shove. I'm still waiting to hear about all the blown engines of those who have done some tweaking. Nowt wrong with a bit more grunt on your V11
-
Its actually a 19incher the front- and I have just returned from an ace ride over the local moors in the Spring sunshine. Handling is very good- the bike is so stable, steers well and can be leant well over. Motor is a peach too- haven't taken her over 5500k yet but I can feel the potential. I was expecting the 4V motor to be weaker lower down but she feels a fair bit gruntier than my V11 at lower revs, with the top end still to be explored.
-
They are tubeless tyres- and will probably take my V11 to Ken Bridge, seeing as it is a V11 bash!
-
Look at Tony Elias' top speed- the fastest and he is last!

Well I am not the tallest of guys- I am 5ft 9 with a 30 inch inside leg and on the lowest seat height I can get get one foot flat, the other half down, so its fine. Much lower than other off roaders I have ridden. I am 15 stone though so that probably helps compress the shock! Gary- if you ride one, you will buy it!
