  1. I've now accepted the fact there is unlikely to ever be another Guzzi sports bike- I don't think even the new 8V motor will lend itself to a supersports bike, unless maybe they could get the weight down to about 170kgs fuelled up and make something simliar to a Buell XB12R. If you want fast and light, buy a non-Guzzi.
  2. Todd at Guzzitech has kindly posted the recall notice on his website: http://www.guzzitech.com/Griso8V/Tech/8Vti...ut-003-2008.pdf
  3. There are at least 3 street legal MGS01s in the UK- my local dealer has one. Think he said he wanted about grand over the usual (high) list price. Cheers Guy
  4. My Monster S4Rs was great fun- but I used it too little as it had no real practicality in the real world, with less than a hundred mile tank range. 130rwhp is pretty metal though! I love Ducatis and I will get another one- probably a used cheapish 749S just for track days. Nobody loves them 'cos they are the old model and in some eyes not very pretty, whcih makes them cheap for those in the know.
  5. I will try and make it to a couple of the rounds again this year to cheer Gyles on and drink his beer! Robin, are you up for another track day?
  6. No worries, I don't do it for the points! I rarely have time these days so if I don't crack a quiz within 15 minutes I walk away.....
  7. I guess it depends on how many bottles of lunchtime vino Luigi consumed before naming the bikes. Or maybe they ran out of 8V stickers and only had 4V stickers left. I love their amatuerisheness (is that a word?).
  8. The Duke maybe slightly faster down the straight but not by much. Ask Marco Melandri how he got on with it- the difference is Stoner- he rides the wheels of it and can cope with the tyre degradation. Stoner deserves all the credit for making the Duke look fast.
  9. Hubbard Steamcycle, Conneticut
  10. Yep its a 1340cc Desmo Harley V Twin with Ducati 900SS type heads
  11. As a kid I used to like reading these: I understand they are making a comeback.

    Stelvio

Yes I wondered why they bothered with that cubby hole in the tank- just another thing to go wrong when the switch fails one day! The factory pics show a rider putting his mobile phone and wallet in there- it will probably end up like a swimming pool in there after the first thunderstorm! If they made the price just under £8k then it would stand out as being much cheaper than the 1200GS.
  13. Did you manage a 100mph lap?
  14. He is 16th on the grid, nearly 3 seconds off pole. He is not happy with the bike or tyres. http://www.ducati.com/racing/home_news_pop...ml?newsId=40451
  15. Yes I wont be able to go if you are parked next to me with that large monstrosity!
  16. Glad you are hanging on to them! Are you going to keep the large Griso silencer, or are you planning on getting something with less weight and girth? I've sent an email to Mistral and they have already made and tested a prototype for the Stelvio, which will be in production in around ten days. Wouldn't be surprised if they have made a pipe for the 8V Griso as well.
  17. Are ya keeping your LM111 and V11?
  18. Missed the qualiftying for Moto GP earlier, but these are the final grid positions: Moto GP grid I would love James Toseland to win, but Lorenzo's factory bike has a fair bit more top speed. Excellent result from 17 year old Bradley Smith to take pole in the 125, but Scott Redding who has only just turned 15 got a brilliant 4th place on the grid in his first ever GP. Looking forward to Sunday evening!
  19. Congrats to Belfast on his new 8V Griso!
  20. Apparently it left the factory over a week ago! Still not arrived in Shipley. I believe the oil pump issue was just one bike somewhere in Europe. If it was 10 years ago, and we did not have forums there would be no panic!
  21. Ahhh ya wouldn't buy one if you knew it was perfect like a Honda!
