  1. Not sure how much fuel he had- either way its a heavy MF of a bike!
  2. Getting married next Saturday- then honeymooning in the Scottish Highlands on our bikes the week after- hope it starts to dry out! Guy
  3. Mal weighed his V11 Le Mans at the MOT station yesterday. It was in standard trim except aluminium luggage rack, pod filters (no airbox) and Stucchi X Over. Result- 260kgs. I would imagine that with the airbox it would have been slightly heavier. Guy
  4. Starter solenoid? That short enough?
  5. Hmmm..you should ride one like mine Antonio- see how long it stays on 2 wheels.... Guy
  6. Even though I am a big Ducati fan, I really admired what Valentino did on Saturday- masterful performance from 11th on the grid. He's still got it! Guy
  7. The V11 is way heavier than Guzzi claim. A guy from the Guzzi Club GB took his to a weighbridge- I can't remember what the exact weight was but it was massively heavier than what Guzzi claimed- maybe it was about 260kgs from memory. Even my Monster with all its watercooling is probably about 60kgs lighter than my V11- and 50bhp up! But who cares, I love my Guzzi cos its a Guzzi. Guy
  8. A friend of mine has a 1200 Sport and she likes it! Just out of interest, did they dyno the Guzzi? If so what were the power and torque readings? Guy
  9. I just remembered this thread. May be worth considering simply buying a new one at less than £50 if the old ones trashed. Guy
  10. "need to sell for medical reasons". Sick?
  11. I think Ben should get his arse over to Europe for a Griswald style vacation so he can experience the culture first hand! Guy
  12. Been pissing it down for days and half of Yorkshire is under water. Glad I live on a hill. Guy
  13. I used Cargo endurance soft panniers on my recent European jaunt. Expand to 40 litres, plenty of clearance over the exhausts and lots of pockets and mounting points. Stayed waterproof too. I got a small split in one and had them replaced under warranty no quibble.
  14. Hi Dave Likes Touch screen Easy navigation around the system Easy to key in co-ordinates as well as addresses Menu Whole of Europe already programmed in Dislikes Sun glare on screen Inaccurate countdown in meters to junctions On the whole I think its a good piece of kit. The RAm mount failed after a thunderstorm in Mandello. I am guessing that the rubber protectors simply aren't effective. I've heard that there is an updated mount due out soon- maybe Garmin have had lots of failures. Enjoy your tour of Austria! Guy
  15. To further compound this theory, if you keep drinking lots of beer you will grow breasts.
  16. I quite like the Nik Turner inspired punky version of Hawkwind in the mid 80s. Fave album is the live "This Is Hawkwind Do Not Panic" recorded at Stonehenge.
  17. The Zumo was fine for 2 weeks- and just as I was getting used to it, the RAM mount suddenly stopped charging after a heavy thunderstorm in Mandello. Spoke to Garmin this evening and want me to send the mount back for repair. Guy
  18. Could it be the headlight itself being loose? May be worth checking the bolts either side.
  19. Suzuki are knocking out these SV1000 Classics brand new at £5650 list price. Pretty good value for money I reckon if you are in the market for a new bike.
  20. I am sure that the aftermarket Ohlins unit for the V11 comes with a remote preload adjuster. Guy
  21. Me too, but I fear it may be a while before its in the showroom! Guy
  22. You will also be able to see the launch of the Desmosedici for the road. Have fun if you go! Guy
  23. Be good to have you along next year Mark, and I hope you managed to sort everything you needed to. Thinking of maybe Spain next year- and renting a large villa in the Andalucian mountains with a garage and a pool so we don't have to lug around tents etc. Who knows, the call of the Alps is always strong so we may head that way again. Regards Guy
