  1. Looks too short to be a Corgi but thats my only guess- 98cc ?
  2. Nice one- will be good to have you along, Antonio! Guy
  3. Maybe that is why it doesnt happen to the guys with carbed bikes- their wrists are so bloody strong from pulling 40mm dellortos they can do them up tighter than us limp wristed girly EFI riders. Guy
  4. Nice one John!! Enjoy Vegas- bloody cold in Huddersfield today! Weather forecasters are getting hysterical about snow- whats the betting we only get a centremetre? Are you going to hire a H*rley and do a bit of exploring in the sunshine? Guy
  5. Mark Have you tried Guernsey HD? Link They will not charge tax normally either so are a bit cheaper. Guy
  6. Yes I believe they will make them to order with a cush drive. Guy
  7. Our bikes are so pigging heavy in the first place I think wheel buying is as much of a cosmetic excercise as anything. I remember somebody taking his V11 to a weighbridge, and it was much much heavier than Guzzi claimed, even taking into account oil and fuel. I am sure that lighter wheels like the PVM make a little difference in filckability, but at the end of the day it still a fat old slow heavy Guzzi, love them as we do. Those PVMs do look lovely though
  8. Is this where Pete went for a pint at lunchtime?
  9. Like I said, I think it is fine! But if I was Ben I would listen to himself, not others, as there are so many opinions on here. Thanks for the comments about my Corsa! Guy
  10. I think it looks fine Ben- and the important thing here is that YOU like it, and it is your own individual take on how you want your bike to be. Guy P.S. I wanna ride on that little Barney the Dinosaur toy!
  11. I just bought an Ohlins rear shock for Helen's V11 because it was the cheapest option available (thanks Antonio!) and I knew it would very work well as I have one fitted on my Rosso Corsa. I'm due to get the forks back from Maxton next week and will post a report once I have taken a test ride. When I visited Maxton's workshop a few weeks ago, I had a good chat with Richard who was familiar with the forks as he rebuilt the ones that were used in the Tenni that raced in the TT a few years back. I have asked for comfort and quality of ride to be the priority rather than racetrack ability. Basically he is throwing away the old cartridges and internals, and replacing them with Maxton items. There will also be separate adjusters for compression and rebound on each leg. With the Ohlins / Maxton combination I am hoping that the quality of ride improves considerably over standard. Guy
  12. It can also have an "inner cleansing" effect the morning after- especially the cloudy varieties.
  13. It could be far worse- at least we don't have to contend with pissed elephants on the rampage. Guy
  14. The dress code at BMW rallys never surprises me!
  15. Well done!!!! I have total respect for anyone who races a Guzzi. Damage does not look too bad, hopefully
  16. Thanks for sharing Mike! Sorry to hear it ended up this way but as you say, some evidence to prove this can happen. I can't imagine it is a very common occurence otherwise it would have been widely reported, but your unfortunate experience shows it is possible. I had Greg's posts going through my mind when I serviced the Jackal the other day- did not use any clamps but made sure it was very hand tight, without going too far. Guy
  17. It got up to 13 degrees C (55F) yesterday and it was sunny and dry. Had a great ride with some friends over Snake Pass to Castleton in the Peak District (for a cream tea- rufty tufty bikers we are), then back home over Strines Moor. Lots of other traffic about, but it was just nice to be out and about on a ride that did not involve commuting to work. Guy
  18. Belfastguzzi lives down the road- maybe he will be there if he gets out of jail after the lingerie / elf incident.
  19. She is pretty but I think her jugs are fake, looking at the second pic. There is a woman in a red T shirt taking a very keen interest in her butt in the last pic- I don't blame her, I would too. Guy
  20. The local go kart track opens up on a Thursday night for minimotos so you can race them without getting into bother. Guy
  21. Hi Steve Hopefully some of the guys closer to Cambs will be able to advise you of some decent pubs. You will find that most ciders served in pubs will be popular draft dry ciders like Strongbow, or bottled ciders like Magners which is normally served in a glass full of ice. Scrumpy is often harder to come by, but I know of 2 cider farms that could either send you some, or maybe advise you of a local retailer: Westons is just down the road from my brother. We popped in there a few weeks back and boght a couple of crates of their vintage organic cider which is very pleasant and quite strong. Perrys cider farm is in a village in Somerset close to where my grandparents lived, and I used to love going there as a kid and tasting small measures from the barrels, and watching all the local farmers turn up with huge plastic vats which they filled with flat scrumpy for very little cost- not sure what it is like now because I have not been for years. I also bought a bottle of English Apple Brandy from Westons- which is basically Calvados but they can't call it that because it is not made in Normandy. Have a great visit- maybe you could hop on a ferry at Harwich and visit the V11LeMans 5th anniversay bash in the Netherlands. Cheers Guy P.S. Just found this link
  22. I am sure it will be!!
  23. Yes depsite all the might and money of the HRC, it looks as though they have been left well behind by a tiny (in comparison) Italian race shop! I really hope Ducati win the title this year- been a long time since any non-Japanese marque has won it- I guess it must have been MV years ago. Guy
  24. I found economy improved after fitted the FBF high comp pistons- for some reason it drinks less now. Guy
  25. Congratulations! Are you going for the new Testestretta engined verion? If so you will find the motor completely barking mad- perfectly rideable but if you give it some stick you will really feel the poke- about 130rwbhp if you remove cat, put some nice pipes on and less restrictive filter. Its a lot of power for a very short bike that weighs about 180kgs in standard trim. Those brakes are awesome too- have fun, take it easy and enjoy your new toy! Guy
