  1. The answer is yes- both have a 7 inch Bosch unit. I have a BMW R850R light on my naked Rosso Corsa which is also the same size. Guy
  2. Reboot spares in France will sell you a brand new one for £160 plus delivery. Compare that to the price Guzzi charge for a new one.
  3. Just got back from spending the last few days on the wild Donegal coast- 4 days of constant storms and gale force winds with torrential rain and storms. The power went down on New Years Eve, so there was nothing else to do but drink Guinness and whisky by the log fire.
  4. Congratulations to you both!!!
  5. Harleys will always be subject to bashing from some parts of the Guzzi fold- I think it has more to do with the image than the dynamics of the motorcycles. I have never ridden a Sportster but have nothing against them. The big twins are decent touring bikes but I agree with Ben about the brakes, although the models with twin discs are acceptable. I've tried one, found it was not right for me and sold it on again- maybe in about 10 years I may fancy another. Guy
  6. You may know this already but DKs are no longer Guzzi dealers but I hope they look after you still. Guy
  7. Hi Jim Sorry to hear your V11 is on its way. The thing with the Scura R is that there are no comparable machines for sale so if you find someone who really wants one you may be able to get some decent money for it. Saying that, Guzzis do depreciate a lot in their early days and I saw a year old Coppa Italia with factory pipes for sale at a dealer a few weeks back for under £5k- not far off half the brand new price. Here is a link to V11s currently for sale on Bike Trader. Corsa Italiana in London are Guzzi dealers and also sell Supermoto racers- have you thought about a swap with them? Cheers Guy
  8. Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year from Guzzirider Edit- I removed the pic as the link has stopped working
  9. If you ride a Breva back to back with a V11, you will notice how much extra mid range poke the V11 has over its sensible Euro 3 compliant cousin. Guy
  10. Chris You are a tease!! Only 13 miles away...maybe I could sell a kidney....
  11. Plenty of posts on here about lighting including solutions that involve rewiring to get more direct power to your light. use the search facility to get the info you need. I prefer to keep things simple- a 100/80w bulb. Works for me. Guy
  12. The Moto Guzzi factory celebrate a record 10000 warranty claims in one month! A factory spokesman confirmed that a special bonus has been paid to each worker, and the target increased to 15000 for next month. On a sadder note, 3 employees were today sacked for using correct torque values and working through their lunch breaks. This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.
  13. Just read my copy. The other bit of news is that the Scottish Rally is now 1st to 3rd June. This means I will have to miss it as we have planned to tour Europe first 2 weeks of June. I'll be giving Erin a miss too. I'll be at Boxmeer, 5th Anniversary bash and the Scottish thingy in May that Chris kindly organises. Also we have planned to honeymoon on our V11s in July in Applecross- who says romance is dead? Guy
  14. I only snore when I am drunk. And my farts only smell really bad when I have had a few beers.
  15. Yes there is often a set for sale on there- very cheap compared to the list price. He also sells both versions of the Marzocchi fork for the V11. Best feature of the Ohlins is ride quality and comfort- the roads are very bumpy on the moors around here and my bike stays in a straight line while fellow riders are complaining of being thrown out of their seat. You can undoubtedly ugrade the Marzocchi forks (am in the process of getting this done for H's bike) but those without Ohlins will always have a secret powerful lust for the gold forks and pretend they don't want them. Come to me, my precious, beautiful gold forks are all mine.......
  16. I'll start off... A new world record...10000 motorcycles constructed without using one dab of grease....
  17. Booked the time off work- I shall be going- just waiting for Helen to confirm. Guy
  18. Booked the time off work- I'm going. I can't add my name on that other thread cos its closed. Guy
  19. I know that it will be difficult for our friends in North America and Down Under to join us but how about simultaneous rallies? We could hook up on t'internet one night with webcams or something. Guy
  20. I'm up for it, providing I can get time off work which should not be a problem. Will be camping I think. Helen does not have enough holiday allowance left but I will see if Mal can make it. I have been to Valkenburg before- it was a long time ago but I remember it being a nice place with old Roman grottoes that had been converted into nuclear shelters. Roll on September Guy
  21. I have in the attic!
  22. The factory GPS specified for UK Norges looks really expensive- as do most of the other accessories like heated grips. Will be much cheaper to fit other aftermarket options than go with the official stuff. Guy
