  1. Sorry to hear of your motor's premature demise and it is heartening to see other forum members offering their services to help you sort it out. Plenty of engine parts being sold on EBay by Mr.ginger-baker- the German guy who stocks loads of guzzi bits. Keep the bike together- you will get it sorted. Guy
  2. Wet and windy here. Weather is not much cop either! I'm off camping in Cumbria on the bike this weekend with a local bike club- will be wearing a very warm beer jacket. Guy
  3. Got it- point to Mr Wilson!
  4. Sorry to hear bout the loss of Serge- he was truly an outstanding cock and I am sure will be hard to replace. I have just eaten my chicken shashlick in silence.
  5. Ok ladies and gentlemen, Time for a new quiz- who is this guy, and how did he help us bikers? I think it should be pretty easy. Guy P.S. First clue, his name is not Ratchethack!
  6. Difficult bikes to compare- but having both in the garage I'll have a go. R6- light, flicky, fast steering, no torque but 3rd gear wheeelies if you thrash it V11- loads of torque but pedestrian steering and wrestling match in tight corners All the Ohlins and Brembo bling does not make the V11 quicker than the R6, but I still prefer it because it has soul.
  7. World's oldest bottle of whisky? If I was a millionaire, it would be cool to buy it at the auction, then after taking one swig in front of all the posh connoisseurs and collectors, belch loudly then give the bottle to a homeless tramp and let him finish it off in the park.
  8. The silly thing is there will be buyers out there who wanted to purchase a Griso, and were going to buy the current model but have now changed their minds because they are waiting for the new 8V model they have read about in the press.
  9. A nice bike the Sport Corsa- I sometimes miss my old one- maybe we will be reunited one day.
  10. As a long time lover of Moto Guzzi, and an admirer of their sporting and racing pedigree, I have been hoping in vain for years for the company to make a proper sports bike. I must now face facts- it is not going to happen- they will knock out cruisers / tourers and roadsters with basically the same old motor which is getting less exciting with each wave of emissions legislation. I'll keep my V11, and when I get older I may want a Breva to potter about Europe on every summer, but for sporty bikes I will stay with Ducati. Guy
  11. Maybe there is a simple explanation and it may reappear as "scheduled for 2008" or something. The other possibility is that the motor simply does not exist- maybe they just remodelled the exterior of a regular motor and made us think it was special. I can't remember seeing any 3d diagrams or cutaways showing the internals. Guy
  12. WTF is going on? Was it bollocks all along? Or just a change of heart? Guy
  13. I noticed Mods v Rockers was one of the events- is that real? Smart boys turning up on mirror clad Vespas wearing green parkas with roundels on their backs? Fighting with greasy haired sideburned leather jacketed thugs from East London who arrive on crappy British singles pissing oil everywhere? Is this an issue where Ratch and Dave finally join forces to throw the scooter boys off the pier, then race back to the caff for a mug of tea and a bacon sarnie together and argue about who is best- Eddy Cochrane or Jerry Lee Lewis? Guy
  14. Bed time zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  15. I like 'em- the point is that they look like no other exhaust, sound like no other exhaust, keep the weight real low and keep the bike svelte. If I was convinced the Quat D would perform as well as my Mistrals then I would seriously consider getting one. I've listened to Belfastguzzi's Quat D and it sounds like a Spitfire chasing an ME109 on full chat. Guy
  16. Excellent!! Thank you Alex!! Well that has confirmed it for me- burnt orange it is! That is the plan Antonio!! Cheers Guy
  17. Here you go Alex. I've got bored of the original colour- I want a bike different to everyone else- if you have a nice dark orange in your photoshop then I'd appreciate you having a go at colouring my V11. I will leave the front hugger carbon. Cheers Guy
  18. Everybody always says nice things about Corsa- it is nice to know there are good dealers out there. Guy
  19. The Duke is too much fun to sell!! Its is now kicking out about 130rwbhp- mental for a twin! Nice photo paint job though, Alex! I am currently deciding what colour to paint my V11- thinking of a nice burnt orange maybe.
  20. Look at them nice wheels- shame I would have to remortgage my house to buy some!
  21. Who knows? I may have to buy a CBR600 to stand out from the crowd. Guy
  22. In the interests of democracy, I am happy to start a We Want Hooters- Yes or No Poll if that will help. Guy
  23. It is a dark winters night, I have had a mad week so far at work, thank god for tits:
  24. Hi Chris Can't make the tour but I am sure you will have a great time. I stayed in Port En Bessin for a couple days this summer whilst touring Europe on my V11, and there is plenty to see, as well as lots of nice food and drink. I can particularly recommend the local cider, and of course the Calvados. Worth visiting the Omaha beach memorial- really erie but moving place. There is an airborne museum at St Mere Eglise which is also good. There is the famous village square there which has a nice cafe too. Did not make it to Arromanches this time but have been there before- you can see the remains of the Mulberry harbour and there is another museum near the beach. Have fun Guy
