  1. Probably every bike that comes out of the factory is different depending upon what mood Luigi was in. I cant remember what mine was like new with std cans, but I have always fitted pipes with the silencer bracket to the inside. The design of the bike is naturally twisted and whatever you do it will always look a bit wonky from the back.
  2. yes do please I think you will be fine sending letter and cheque to Dave Breeze using Haydn's link.
  3. Well I am flattered, maybe even a little curious, but I wont stand in the way of your usual "room mate" or he may get jealous! Euan- do you need booking form?
  4. It is the MGCGB Rally held at Moniaive near Dumfries first May Bank Holiday. Booking form and details are in Gambalunga if you are in the Guzzi Club. Cheers Guy
  5. Hi Jaap Its ok I have advised Dave Breeze the organiser you are coming. I have not bought you a ticket you just pay when you arrive. Goes for me, too??? Yup!

  7. Tickets on sale now.
  8. Yes it is always held somewhere in Scotland during the first May bank holiday weekend. Shame you cant make it but Mexico will be nice!
  9. Dont springs break anyway? I know they can break om Tonti framed bikes too eventually.
  10. I just carry a spring. Part numbers in the FAQ section Cheers Guy
  11. I believe MG brought out an modified arm which the spring hooks onto with a smaller diameter boss, so the spring is less strained. My Rosso Corsa had one fail, which was at about 4000 miles and was fine afterwards. Helen has had two go in the last 22000 miles- always carry a spare in the toolkit.
  12. PS I believe there is a Centauro owners group forum- maybe worth checking out. I will also ask a couple of mates including the guy who is building my motor to see if they have any good piston / barrel kits.
  13. Thanks for the update! Sounds like you are having fun. Joe has also kindly ordered a new uprated oil pump for myself and my friend Mal who is building a Centauro based cafe racer- maybe yours is in the same batch- we are hoping that they will be ready in February. Are you tempted to go the big bore route? Amadeo at Raceco is currently getting a batch of 100mm pistons, longer Arrow rods and resleeving barrels. He said this is the last batch but you never know...Dont ask dont get. Wont be cheap though. Alternatively I am sure Dynotec in Germany could help.
  14. These EU proposals are very serious- basically you wont be able to even change your handlebars let alone an exhaust or wheels, unless they are "approved" parts and the mods inspected by your local testing station. Will only apply to new bikes and if approved will ruin the aftermarket industry, and make it much harder and more expensive to alter your machine to suit your taste. Older bikes will seem even more attractive than they are now.
  15. Yes just checked the VOSA manual no mention of CATs for bikes.
  16. Is that bit meant for cars David? I was under the impression that bikes are still exempt from CAT checks.
  17. There ia design challenge for modern bikes because of all the emissions crap. Some manufacturers are good at hiding it, others very poor. The pipes on new Kwackers are hideously huge, and the silencers on the Griso and 1200 Sport are not much better. I guess most manfacturers know that the first thing the new owner will do is swap the pipe for something lighter, and more svelte. That may well have to stop if the proposed EU anti-tampering regs come into force.
  18. I know someone who has made his own Dr John replica exhaust for his LM1000- I can put you in touch if you like.
  19. A Daytona or Centauro motor can be made to fit but have never heard of anyone making that leap with the newer 8 valve.
  20. The Ipothesis- latest creation from Rossopuro. I like it but it looks like a very long wheelbase- I'm guessing it is based on a Griso 8V and the wheelbase is standard albeit exaggerated in looks by the lack of rear mudguard / number plate hanger.
  21. The UK is an exception- I understand that Guzzi sales plummeted last year. Maybe due to a combination of poor dealers, high prices, recession and the fact that performance seems more of a factor when choosing a bike over here. I guess the question is will the current line up of bikes keep sales at a healthy level worldwide for the future?
  22. I have ridden most of the newer CARC Guzzis (never ridden a Norge or Bellagio) and the bike with the best handling and sportiest feel was the Stelvio which somehow manages to feel a lot lighter on the move than it really is. My Daytona RS still has a sticker from its last race meeting weighing in at 216kgs- thats with lights and stand removed, and oil catch tray added. Assuming it would be a bit heavier than that in stock trim I still reckon it will weigh much less than the newer bikes, even though its no Kate Moss. She will be running race bodywork, Dymags and minimalist lights when I get her back on the road so I wonder how close I can get her to 200kgs?
  23. Bad timing I ordered some indicators for my Daytona online only this morning. Hopefully Paypal will refund if I dont get my order.
  24. It's probably a man with long hair. Remember? A very long time ago.........
