    Bollocks

Hang in there Big J. I threw the same strop in Germany when my starter solenoid packed up and then the heavens opened and a thunderstorm erupted right over my head. I swore I would never ride a f***ing Guzzi abroad ever again and I was going to buy a reliable bike. A few pints later, and a after good nights sleep we were in love again.
  2. Mine is a mess- next house we buy will have a huge garage!! Mind you, I do know exactly where everything is.
  3. Yes the torque is in ft lbs- not sure how that translates into metric.
  4. Sad news when anyone dies but I guess it was going to happen one day. I remember him setting his pet dog onto a wild pig, and his dog getting savaged by the viscious pig and thinking that surely he should have known his dog was going to get a mauling. Guy
  5. Did anyone see the races? Horrible conditions in race one- Chris Walker did brilliantly to stay on his Kawasaki, and win when most of the regular top runners slid off. He has had such bad luck over the years and it was great to see him win- hearing the crowd go ballistic on the telly brought a lump to my throat! Guy
  6. Hi Alex About 3.5 to 6k rpm- its really sweet at that point which is ideal for road riding. I tried a new disclipline on my V11 today- enduro! I went to the Stormin' The Castle rally in County Durham and it absolutely poured with rain yesterday and turned the site in a huge deep slippery mud bath. I pleased to say that our V11s coped well this morning even without knobbly tyres, and actually looked happier in the mud than the huge top heavy KTM Adventures that were camped next to us! Guy
  7. Is it another mock up of the new rumoured Guzzi sports bike?
  8. Just a brief update on my motor- I have now done 5500 miles since the FBFs were fitted in late April and the motor feels nicer every day. There is a real growl in the midrange where the motor is pulling really hard (for a Guzzi). The retune of my ECU by HTM has also added a bit of a top end rush, which was noticeable when I swapped bikes with a fellow FBF V11 owner last weekend. Guy
  9. Thanks for the pics- it was a great bash! The V Twin Rally is organised by the Guzzi Club GB so its mainly Guzzis that attend but there are also plenty of Dukes, Harleys, Cagivas, Morinis the odd Brit plus the Jap Vs. One of the friendliest rallys you can go to. Guy

    HELP

It may be worth contacting NABD if you have not done so already because they can help with advice and possibly a grant to get this sort of conversion done. I am not in Scotland but there is a branch of the Moto Guzzi Club GB up there. Call Dave Breeze on 0131 452 8539 and he may be able to tell you their next meeting or put you in touch with a V11 owner. If you can't get anything sorted I am happy to email you photos of the relevant parts of my bike. Good luck Guy
  11. I believe that is just a standard crossover John. As far as I am aware, V11s do not have cats. I think you should be ok with those titaniums if you want them. Regards Guy
  12. Its just that I thought our bikes had no cat!
  13. Now that we have both a hooters and a bum thread, I wonder if Jaap will let us go the next step?
  14. Some interesting designs there-the guy seems to like his sharp angles.
  15. May I be permitted to make a contribution here?
  16. Does your V11 have a cat, John? Guy
  17. I did a lot of riding these past 4 days on my V11 and I felt really good about my bike- it was pulling really hard, handling well and the braking was spot on. I have been down to the V Twin Rally in Fordingbridge and covered a mixture of motorways and back roads over the weekend in the company of 2 other V11s and have loved every minute of it. I was sitting in a sunny pub garden yesterday afternoon looking at our bikes in the car park, and thought about all these computer generated mock ups of new Guzzis that appear every 5 minutes on forums. I can't see the point of them really- the Breva 1100 is good at what it does, as is the Griso but these new "sports" bikes look nowhere as good as the V11 does and I am sure the motor will be strangled due to the fat BMW driving Eurocrats snd therefore won't feel anywhere as nice as a V11. Unless Guzzi make a real sports bike with a good chassis, fast motor and great looks then all this farting about with souped up "sports Brevas" is a waste of time. Guy P.S. Can you tell I still love my V11?
  18. Corsa Italiana were selling one at this weekend's V Twin Rally. They also had a shop soiled brand new Guzzi Titanium system with ECU for £350- be quick if you want one! No sure how marked it was. Guy
  19. I rode a Guzzi to Figueres in 2002- the Dali museum is whacky but be prepared to queue for a long time. Not too far from the Cotsa Brava where you can park up near the beach, and watch the boobies....
  20. I saw a dyno chart showing the 1200 Norge engine making about 75rwbhp, though Guzzi claim 95bhp at the crank. I guess they have to exaggerate if it is to look closer in spec to the BMW 1200 tourer. I am sure the 1200 motor will feel less pokey than a V11, but I guess Guzzi have to make it like it is because of the Eurocrats. Guy
  21. Yes but are we getting good value for money in return for our (sometimes delayed) V.11 payment? Is it being spent on the roads or being pissed down the drain in Iraq? Discuss. Guy
  22. Shell V Power
  23. Not sure of the background but both shows are on this year!
  24. I had the same problem, and even after changing the valve it still leaked. The problem? Turned out that the aftermarket valve cover I had recently fitted was too short and pressing on the valve making it leak!
