  1. Thanks for starting this Jim. A few more: High comp pistons v low comp pistons The answer is obvious Leathers v Gore Tex Leathers come out trumps Bosch v Seimens Seimens very poor swimmers compared to Bosch Cock v Hooters Oh dear we are big fans of cock over here! Guy
  2. Thanks for the tips Antonio Just noticed on the Moto GP calendar- Dutch TT Assen!!!!! Guy
  3. I enjoyed going to TLM last year and will probably go back because they normally have an open day on the Saturday of the rally. We will avoid Amsterdam though- not a fan of big cities on a bike. Plenty of clubs with naked ladies in Huddersfield if I want to see that sort of thing! Guy
  4. Ok here is the plan- a group of us are heading to the Erin rally in Ireland on June 8th. On Sunday 11th, my friend Magnus and I will say goodbye to our fellow travellers in Fishguard, and hot foot it down to Hampshire, stay overnight at my Mum's then get the 8am ferry to Cherbourg from Portsmouth. We will then ride through France and aim to be playing in Mandello by Tuesday night. After the obligatory museum tour and drinking session in Zanzibars, we will then head up north on the Thursday and will hopefully be at the Boxmeer Rally site on Friday afternoon. The plan is then to spend a few days in the Netherlands after the end of Boxmeer, and I am seeking ideas as to where to go and what to do. I was even thinking of riding up to Denmark just to see what it is like. Any must see places? Nice campsites? Any ideas or suggestions gratefully appreciated. Thanks Guy
  5. No I thought about the rev counter then worked out it was too much money and hassle. I did not ever find it a problem- been riding Guzzis so long I know when I've hit the imaginary redline. Guy
  6. I think you have a good bike there Nigel. I used to have a Jackal which is pretty similar and it was a very underrated bike, and was especially punchy when I liberated the midrange with the usual breathing mods. I fitted an extra front disk because I used to tour 2 up on it with luggage and wanted the increased stopping power. I am sure you will be pleased with your new handbag. Guy
  7. Good news- price has come down from 60 euros each plus taxes to 33.60 euros each including taxes so I am confirming my order tonight. I love this haggling game! Will broach the subject of getting a forum discount in my email tonight. Guy
  8. BFG posted some comprehensive information regarding the code numbers Guy
  9. If you are in Ireland between 9th to 11th June by any chance pop along to the Erin rally! Guy
  10. I recorded it and watched it last night- awesome stuff- they is brave buggers! Guy
  11. Yep- arguments listened to and understood- but I am doing it anyway! Sometimes you just gotta try these things!
  12. I know how you Tenni guys like to collect the numbers! Tenni Price seems very reasonable at £4200. Guy
  13. Beyond the limits of my knowledge and equipment. I am taking the heads to Hobbsport to get the valves fitted and heads flowed. FBF came back to me last night (how fast is that for Italy!). Said they would be able to do me a deal and will let me know a price today. In view of the popularity of FBF airbox conversions, silencers, high comp pistons etc I wonder whether it will be worth trying to get a discount arranged for any V11lemans.com members? I'll have a go. Guy
  14. Are you quite sure you'll need a large one?
  15. Okey dokey- have a good ride up! Guy
  16. Thanks BFG I'm watching Leeds United v Preston NE in the Championship play off semi final at the moment- its rather tense...
  17. Alan at Motomecca says he can get stuff resprayed by a local shop. Have not tried them myself but he reckoned he could get a good match. Guy
  18. I am making enquiries with FBF in Italy about buying some oversize valves for my V11 (40mm exhaust and 47mm intake). I will be ordering a set for a friend too- anyone else in the UK like to join in? I am happy to order a few extra sets for serious buyers. Guy
  19. Bayliss was awesome, as ever. Early days yet but it looks like he is on for winning the championship. What has happened to Lanzi though? He looked good last year on his one off factory rides but is struggling this year in comparison to his team mate. Ducati are also doing very well in BSB- Lavilla is winning the championship by a mile with Leon Haslam in 2nd. I find this amusing because the Honda BSB team is a full factory HRC effort with a massive budget and they get their arses kicked by a small team like Airwaves Ducati. Guy
  20. Let us not forget Capirossi- I know the Ducati blows hot and cold but I would love to see him win the championship rather than just a few races.
  21. The same bags are now sold as official Moto Guzzi accessories: Bags Motomecca in the UK are still listing the Tecknos- £174.78 Tecknos Guy
  22. When the pawl springs broke on each of our V11s, the bikes were stuck in 3rd so therefore rideable and able to limp home for TLC.
  23. At last the warm weather has arrived- its been glorious for the last three days and I just had an ace ride in the sunshine. Makes up for all those cold winter rides! Fair play to all the world leaders that care more about keeping rich people rich and pretending Global Warming does not exist- keep it up boys you are doing a grand job.
  24. Helen bought an R6 7 years ago and has done zillions of miles on it (I can't tell you exactly how many 'cos we have leant it to a mate with a sickly V11). She has toured Ireland, Scotland and 3 week tour of Europe, and it is amazingly practical for a sports bike- quite comfy and you can get shedloads of lugagge and camping gear on it. I never tried to influence her into getting a Guzzi because I knew she loved her little blue R6 but one day she asked to swap bikes- and that was it. First she bought a LMV, then a V11 Sport. Since then, the R6 has mainly gathered dust in the garage because H prefers torque and character. Saying that, we both occasionally take it out for a spin and it is quite good fun to thrash its tits off on the empty moors. Guy
  25. I used my BT020s on the track once at Croft circuit. To start with it was cloudy, cold and drizzly and they felt good. As soon as it became warm and dry they overheated and began falling apart in little chunks. I did 13000 miles on various sets of 020s and thought they were fine, but now I have tried Diablo Corsas I won't go back. The good thing is that as well as giving better grip in the dry, they are actually better than the 020s in wet wintery conditions. Helen is on her way to the tyre shop with her wheels to get some Corsas fitted for her bike too. BTW, what is the best oil to use???
