  1. Hi Chris I'll second Keith's recommendation. I bought mine from Motorworks in Meltham- they knew which model would fit. You have to phone and reserve these days if you want to collect it rather than have it delivered. Guy
  2. Duffo who has posted on here a coupla times built a Guzzi powered 3 wheeler- not sure if it was a JZR or a Triking. There is a crash damaged Grinnal Scorpion at the local breakers for £3950 if someone fancies getting their hands dirty: http://www.rsmotorcycles.co.uk/pages/GRINNALL.html Guy
  3. Ashley took the Tenni to the club trackday at Cadwell a few years back and he and the bike were an awesome sight- making the ground shake as he thundered by, and hoisting huge deliberate wheelies after the mountain. Guy
  4. I would have fun trying!
  5. And there is this........

    Birthday

Its Moto Guzzi's birthday tomorrow. As usual I have forgotten to buy a card and a present and can't find anything appropriate at this late hour- been to the local 24 hour petrol station but all they had was porn mags and wooden logs (bought some anyway). Looked on the factory website- its going to be one hell of a party tomorrow in Mandello- they are extending the opening hours of the museum shop ( ) and you will be able to buy from their 2006 range of clothing, which looks mysteriously like the 2004 range- must be my eyes. Maybe they will surprise us tomorrow by launching a road legal MGS01 with 145 bhp and free ice cream for all!! Fingers crossed. Guy
  7. A Honda Cub? My head hurts.
  8. Poor Yogi and his friends
  9. Its a Guzzi rally so will be on my V11- I think there around 15 of us making the trip from the Pennines- mostly arriving on the Thursday afternoon from Rosslare. Will you be on your Scura or your new steed?- I heard a rumour it is a Tomos? Guy
  10. Yes I have my Pith helmet ready and my porters organised- and I do hope that those awfully quaint Irish people know how to make a proper cup of tea. Taking my trusty Blunderbuss on safari to Erin- hope to bag some big game. Wot wot Lord Huddersfield
  11. An interesting story- just read the article on the link and the poor chap certainly does have a chip on his shoulder about the Brits- I wonder if he has ever actually been to Ireland? Inventing the featherbed frame is an excellent achievement but to also invent the telescopic fork- what a guy! Guy P.S. Where can I buy a Norton Marquee? Would be great for tea parties with the vicar in the summer.
  12. May be worth checking the exhaust header clamps- if they work loose they make an annoying rattle. Guy
  13. Does pulling the chain flick on the nitrous??
  14. Reboot Spares Saw this on their noticeboard- seem to have been a few posts on here over the past few weeks with guys looking for spares- this could be your answer. I have no knowledge of the condition or what is available- please contact Reboot if you want more info. Guy
  15. Recovering from some surgery to my stomach here- have not got my usual patience when it comes to searching for these things- will be back on form next week! P.S. Ossa?
  16. Have a look at http://www.motorcyclenews.com/nav?page=mot..._BRITISH-RACING If you watch the video you can see how dangerous this road course is- so narrow and bumpy. Guy
  17. Possibly an MGS01 which he will enter into the NW200. Or maybe an old Matchless or something, more suitable for a man of his seniority. Guy
  18. Mr Magnus McDonald actually- rides a 1000S and a LMV (Helen's previous bike), and yes, more of a Guzzi monkey than an Guzzi man. I tried snorting the coke but it made my nose wet and sticky.
  19. Cue for another Hawkwind thread
  20. I guess The Long Way Round was always going to be different than your average Joe's trip because it was two luvvies and a cameraman making a documentary. After watching the DVD and reading the book, I still admire what they did because it was tough even though they had the luxury of support vehicles etc. The main thing that annoys me is that Charlie is too posh to swear properly- when he says "f**ing hell" it just sounds stupid because of his posh luvvie accent. He has cleverly made a mint out of the trip though, and has been doing personal appearances at bike shows etc ever since- and credit to him for attempting the Dakar. I have watched that Mondo Enduro film that Ferguzzi mentions and that is ace- really good fun and the complete opposite end of the spectrum to the Long Way Round. Guy
  21. Magnus and Mal came round last night and we watched Daytona 200- unfortunately I can't drink at the moment so I had to watch them and Helen get pissed while I was supping coke. We then watched the camcorder footage from our last 2 year's European tours (mainly of bloody noisy Guzzis being thrashed up and down fantastic roads) and got restless wanting to get on that ferry straight away and hit them mountain passes. Its mid March and its chucking it down with snow here- have not been on a bike now for 13 days Guy
  22. Looks like it may be a Portugese Casal 50cc. Not sure of the year- guessing at 1984? Guy
  23. My best was a 12.6. Mal 12.8. We called it a day after 3 runs- clutches were beginning to smell bad. I reckon a low 12 is possible with a perfect run.
  24. I think mine cuts in at 8250rpm
