  1. I recommed a good mouthwash and regular brushing.
  2. I reckon a V11 with extended Tekno panniers is about 10 feet wide- that would stop any bugger trying to overtake! Guy
  3. In the UK it depends on where you go- if you go to a crappy fast food outlet like MacDonalds, Burger King or Pizza Hut then you will be getting mass produced food. There are many good restaurants around these days and the standard of English food has increased over the years. Nowhere near as good yet as French standards though- even many of the roadside cafes sell good food in France whereas that sort of thing over here is generally awful. There is a large Asian population here so there are several good curry houses and many of the country pubs sell good food. In the Netherlands I enjoyed the Uitsmijter- hope I spelt it correctly!! Guy
  4. That's the beauty of Guzzis- most riders just don't get it, but those of us who do have a big smile on our face!
  5. What a race! Moto GP has a challenge this year if it is to be as close as WSB. Guy
  6. Thats a nice bike you have there Bob! Wish it was nearly Spring here- I rode 20 miles for a lunchtime drink with a friend and had to go through 2 snow blizzards- and I wore my open face lid because it was sunny when I set out! Guy
  7. You are most welcome to come to the Pennine Summer Camp in August, Antonio- if you like real beer and great roads! Guy
  8. I know you Scots are not too tight to spend a fiver for a 2 nights camping!! Guy
  9. There is only one way that two gentlemen may settle a dispute of this nature.
  10. Superpole has finished: 1st : Bayliss 2nd: Lanzi 3rd: Pitt 4th: Toseland 5th: Corser 6th: Haga 7th: Kagayama 8th: Muggeridge 9th: Martin 10th: Barros Looks like the Dukes will be on top tomorrow. Andrew Pitt did well to be fastest Yam and James Toseland on a Honda way faster than Barros who is also Honda mounted. Can't wait for it all to kick off tomorrow. Guy
  11. The Pennine branch of the Moto Guzzi Club GB are hosting a Summer Camp at the Causeway Foot Inn, near Ogden Water in Yorkshire on the 4th / 5th and 6th of August. There is a huge field to camp in behind the pub, and a B and B a few yards away if required. Tickets for campers are £5 for the weekend (but free to any visitors from abroad). The pub has 6 real ales on offer, and serves excellent food. Cooked breakfasts also available. The site is close to some of the best moorland roads in the country, and if you fancy a run out the Yorkshire Dales, Peak District and Lake District are all within reach. There is a large and very scenic reservoir 5 minutes walk from the campsite, plus woodland walks. Tickets will be advertised in the April edition of Gambalunga, but please drop me an email / PM if you are interested or need any more information. Cheers Guy
  12. Your cock has a very handsome red head!
  13. First qualifying- big spread of times- wet track conditions. Kwackers of Laconi and Walker right up there. 1st qualifying Guy
  14. Mr Ginger Baker from Deutschland has been advertising 3 different sets of V11 forks for weeks now: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gabel-Marzocchi-Moto...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gabel-Marzocchi-Moto...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gabel-Ohlins-Moto-Gu...1QQcmdZViewItem May be worth considering before looking at a fork conversion from another source. Those Ohlins look relatively cheap if he has no reserve. Guy
  15. A stock airbox on EBAY in case anybody wants a spare one to horribly butcher and disfigure in their horsepower quest http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOTO-GUZZI-...614378599QQrdZ1 Get that knife out! Guy
  16. Just seen TX's avatar on the Wildguzzi forum You've got a Fatwa on you now mate! Guy
  17. The standard Guzzi UFi filters are so cheap I would not bother with anything inferior just to save a few pennies. Guy
  18. Noticed on the web link that Fox Sports are covering race 1 live at 19.30 in Australia- can you get that channel? Guy
  19. I am still interested, but it will probably be January before I can commit for sure due to the holiday rules at work. A drunken discussion at Erin like Martin suggests is probably the best starting point. I also had the idea recently of joining Nick Sanders on his 22000 mile trip from Terra Del Fuego to Alaska in March and April 2007, but I think I am too chicken to give up work to do it. Guy
  20. The WSB homologation rules say, I think, that the manufacturer must promise to build the appropriate number of road bikes within 2 years of a certain date- like Jim says, Petronas have yet to do this and Foggy predicts they will probably be kicked out of WSB next season as they have pushed it too far already. Not sure what the rules are in the different US classes, but if there are similar rules then let Guzzi tell fibs! Guy P.S. There are at least 2 MGS01s unsold in the UK plus the used one on eBay, in case anyone is interested in buying one.
  21. Rocketman- depends on what type of riding I am doing but at motorway cruising speeds, an estimated increase from 39.7MPG to 44.1MPG (Imperial gallons). If I have converted correctly, 33.1mpg to 36.8mpg in US gallons. Theoretical tank range on long motorway trips is now about 200 miles, although I normally fill up at about 140 to 160 miles. Guy
  22. Just a reminder that WSB starts this Saturday in Qatar. For those of us in the UK, Eurosport are showing live coverage of both WSB races plus WSS. Coverage starts at 9am Saturday morning. Does not look as though BBC are covering WSB this year. If you want to see when it is broadcast in your country then look at http://www.superbike.it/ Select the link at the top "SBK on TV". Guy
  23. I have kept the bits that have been cut off and will take a photo tomorrow- basically mine has no lid and no snorkel tops either- just been in the garage rooting around all the bits of Guzzi to take a pic but it was too dark to find anything. I forgot to mention that MPG improved significantly after the PC111 was set up, and I noticed hardly any extra noise with the lidless airbox, but I like noise anyway. Guy
  24. I have gone down the road of no airbox lid at all, K and N filter, Stucchi crossover and Mistral pipes. Have got a PC111 USB with custom map. I can't scientifically say that this is the best combination (who honestly can?), but all I will say it that it works for me, and I got a really healthy torque curve, peaking at 72 ft lbs at the back wheel (Guzzi claim 69 ft lbs at the crank for a standard bike). Mid range punch was dramatically improved Mal has done the same mods and got nearly exactly the same results on the dyno with the exception that he had a standard crossover at the time rather than a Stucchi. We used the same local tuning shop (Hobbsport) to make the custom maps, and Mark who runs the shop made a real difference to the bikes. We both have the extra front crossover as fitted to later bikes, which may negate the advantage of having a Stucchi. Helen's V11 is standard apart from Mistral pipes and although it is still a nice bike to ride, the mid range is noticeably weaker than mine. My local Guzzi dealer has taken mine out for a ride and said it was the best sorted V11 he had ridden. I am sure you will get lots of different opinions and probably a few arguments on this one! Guy P.S. Take a peak at the www.guzzitech.com website to see a few dyno graphs.
  25. Yes I need some bromide in me tea. Guy
