Excellent, enjoy your progress. It's funny, the more of these Guzzi meets I go to, the more rare I realise the v11 actually is.

Belgium, surprisingly enough, is the best country in the world. Their food is basically French, they have some great roads, tons of history.....,and over 400 beers. And they take it very seriously. Every town has its own speciality, and I don't have a favourite, because I haven't tasted them all yet! I like Duvel, though. It's 8% proof. Yum. Of course you can't beat a decent pint of the black stuff....

I've got about 8 names from the uk Guzzi site coming , and Martin from Deutschland is on the way, are there any other people interested from this here V11 bunch?

All set for the weekend. Head for my place first, then you can head down to the pub to set up camp or check in or whatever. Clonlara village is basically a 4 way crossroads. There are 2 pubs, Stritches and o Sheas. Keep them both on your left and head up that road for a mile. The road then splits. If you go right, it leads to the anglers rest(it's signposted). If you go left, my place is the yellow house on the right about half a mile up, with either my Tenni or Katana parked outside! Yep. Everything in order, and even the weather's been organised. Ahem. We've got people coming from the UK and Germany, as well as various parts of Ireland. Don't know about numbers yet, who knows? I've a couple of rides thought out, but there's plenty to do if you want to do your own thing. The B&B/camping/pub is a couple of hundred metres from my place, so on Friday or Saturday maybe head to my place first to catch up. The pub's email and website are not really the best so phoning is your best bet to book. My full address and number to follow when we get closer to the time....

Hi All. If you've noticed the "Stop Press" topic above you'll see I've had to alter the dates by a week. I could have kept it the same weekend as the show the pub was putting on, but there was talk of chip vans and bumper cars, and I just thought it might just get a bit messy, as the area is normally really quiet, and it'd be a shame to turn up to a bit of a carnival. with no parking. Went for a spin during the week on one of the planned rideouts, I'll upload a few photos as soon as I can. In other words, as soon as I get mrs. ferguzzi to do it for me....

Thought I should just open a new topic to get people's attention. Owing to the fact that the pub and camping ground in Clare has decided to stage an agricultural weekend(Insert joke here) on the original weekend planned, I'm going to switch dates to the weekend before .IE AUGUST 9-11. That's all, any further news will be on the other thread, including some photos I got recently, Fergal.

Yeah it's full steam ahead for the trip to Clare. I've got a bit of interest from the uk guzzi club, and it's very small Irish squadron, so numbers are a bit of a mystery, but as long as the weather holds up( ) it should be fun.

The shoei neotec is the new kid on the block wrt to flip tops. It is apparently an improvement on the multitec, but the colours being offered are reaaaly boring. The other main contender is apparently the schuberth, which looks good but didn't fit my head at all, so try before you buy(a given with helmets anyway). I'm due a replacement for my Arai, and I think it's going to be the new Arai quantum " blarney"(I kid you not). Anything with a leprechaun on it must be worth it!

True enough Skeeve, although from all the crap I've been hearing about the F35, I think that's changed and we've entered a new era. I've been lucky enough to have dealt with a few astronauts over the years . The space shuttle was definetly built down to a budget, maybe that's why it's never done much for me!

Camaroon's not the worst by any means. Doala's relatively safe for a foreigner, albeit with the usual precautions. Two nice places to visit, I would have thought.

Well, I'm pretty easy on dates. The 2nd won't work, as it's an Irish holiday, so busy. The 23rd is a uk holiday, so that may not suit people either. That leaves the 9th or the 30th, and I guess the 6 sept. I wouldn't do it any later.

So, as 2012 was a bit of a non event, It's time I put in the effort for a meet. I was thinking about my neck of the woods. I live in Co. Clare in the southwest of Ireland, about 10 minutes north of Limerick city, 2 hours from Dublin, 4 hours from Belfast. There's some lovely scenery nearby like the cliffs of Moher, Lough Derg and Bunratty, and the roads aren't bad. I could plan a few different ridouts in the area. I can't guarantee the weather of course, but the pubs are nice and dry. And we have one or two..... There's a pub about 300m from my house(i'm in the country, surrounded by fields and shitting cows), which offers B+B and camping with limited facilities: theanglersrest.webs.com and they don't really close.... I was thinking of the weekend of 16-18 August, thats a Friday to Sunday, and we might organise a barbecue in our place on the Saturday night if enough people were interested. I'll try to drum up some interest with the (very small) Irish guzzi club too..... So whadya think? thoughts, suggestion, abuse welcome....!

So, my life is fairly quiet at the moment. No kids, the house is coming along, work going along nicely, stress is being kept to a minimum. Evenings tend to be spent in front of the telly,wifey at my side, surrounded by big smelly dogs, glass of wine in hand. But wait. Something odd is happening. I seem to be watching a lot of stupidly good looking people, in cold depressing looking countryside, investigating nasty murders. They wear big woolly sweaters, are all blonde, and speak like that Chef from the muppets. Up until now Denmark was only known for that Hamlet dude, and even that tale was in English. Allegedly. So how, all of a sudden, have these Vikings started producing the best telly on the box? "The Killing", "Bergen", and "The Bridge", are all brilliant, and at least 2 have already been remade as US dramas, and even they're very good. I now know more about Danish politics and police tactics then I ever really wanted to. Hell, I'm even starting to pick up some of the lingo. It's all very disturbing. Heydo.

wait a minute...this thread is about me??? I knew this moment would come...my Daddy told me it would....Gosh I'm overwhelmed. Sob. Hang on a second. What's wrong with my suede seat. It matches my desert boots. And my blue shoes...OK..we won't go there.... When I went to Holland, by renault eventually, a few years ago I got into a very stilted conversation with one of the Deutschlander guzzisti whose English was as bad as my German. And, lucky man, he also bathed in the stellar glow of Tenni ownership. But he was using his suede seat all the time(while mine had been sitting in the attic since new), and said the rain didn't bother it. Now, I know it rains more in Ireland then Germany(ok, it rains more in Ireland then anywhere really), but I've been using it a lot more since. I wouldn't tour with it though. And don't it make my bike pretty?!

Aye, but I bet you've got sunshine. Weather forecast here is on just now: rain, showery rain, windy rain and showers. I don't understand my bike. Anyway, you shoulda been at home watching Hairy Bikers tonight. They've been riding on floppy rears too, but they're swapping the pies for lettuce and whatnot. Piaggio doesn't love me. "Overtaken by Vespa. Right angle adapters just ordered on Ebay." Weird: there's folks on here will never understand you. I've got an inkling. Do the Irish have more types of rain than the Eskimos have types of snow ? I think we should be told. Good question from the back of the classroom. I only know two words for rain in Irish, fliuch and cur baiste, but there's probably more, my Irish has always been crap and I'm way out of practice. But God, the rain is boring. Boring boring boring..... Boring boring. Anyway. September might be nice....
