  1. This one got my curiousity, so I spent yesterday emailing mistral in Italy. I got my black oval carbon fibre cans in Agostinis in Mandello in 2002. They don't have anything resembling a db killer. It seems I got the "racing cans", which obviously wouldn't have db killers. I've got a mistral x over on the way next week(thankyou Jaap), so that should improve the sound a bit. I'll keep you posted!
  2. Going back to the exploding flywheel issue, I've posted photo of my tenni's one on the tech topics forum. Enjoy....
  3. ..and the other side....
  4. I wasn't sure where to put this, so this is a good as any. It had been noisy for as long as I can remember, and those who know have said that crack had been there a long time. Its been replaced by another single plate. The oroginal had about 14000 miles, and 8 years on it.
  5. Your on Jaapman. I'll pm you. woohoo!
  6. Good to know, Chuck. Decision made I think , though I think I'll go for the mistral cross over. Cheers!
  7. Great info, all questions answered, cheers!
  8. great news Dave! So some of these anti-theft devices do work afterall.
  9. dave, you lie like a two faced badger. its the joke thread you put me through. jealous? understandable I suppose.or just too pissed on pimms after the royal wedding?who got married again?
  10. I was hoping to glean some info from fellow tennisti, so this'll have to do. I've got carbon fibre mistrals on the bike, the rest is pretty much standard, and I've noticed at some of the meets that the other v11s tend to be a fair bit louder, and nicer, to be honest. Far as I can make out, theres no db killer on my mistrals, so have any other tennis fitted some of the aftermarket crossovers? does it sound much different? was it worth it? should I bother?
  11. weird, just had a look at my mistrals, and they don't have anything that looks like a db killer. they're the carbon fibre ones. I wouldn't mind making the bike a bit louder actually, it does sound a little gutless. any thoughts? I still have the standard crossover.
  12. Well I have 2 weeks in the middle of may(8-22) which i had pencilled in for a continental trip, I think later in the summer would be better for the uk, august maybe. Denmark was being mentioned , but with a lot of stuff in the news in the last few months I'd guess Soren has his hands full. But i still wanna go somewhere on the continent. I might just head back towards Sibbe and fit in a few laps of the nurbergring. I may have my mate John with me(on his new/old vfr750- I'm afraid my recent troubles may have turned him off guzzis), but I'll go alone if needs be, and it would be great to have a meeting point somewhere, even if just one night for a few beers. No need for arranged accomadation or planned rides or barbecues. Just a bar, with maybe somewhere nearby I can lay my head to sleep off the hangover. Sunshine would be nice too, but I"m not too fussy.
  13. Ahh, Spring. daffodils are blooming, lambs are jumping, the tenni's getting restless. Is there still a plan? I just need a date and a destination. Ferries need to be booked, roads planned, loins girded(?).
  14. Yeah, I've been perusing(?) their website for a while, beautiful, but pricey. I've no fascination for the older Brit bikes, but there's just something nice about their lines. Has anyone seen one in the flesh? Do they leak? Do they sound nice? Does anyone care? What is the sound of one hand clapping? .... Umm. Bit off topic there....
  15. Sorry to hear about your brother Dave. Wrt to the trip, isle of Skye gets my vote. Ideally not in September.
  16. No, my flywheel exploded 2 years ago. Standard single plate. Those that know say it had been cracked for quite a while before the clutch finally gave way. No other damage as far as I know, it seems I was lucky. The whole assembly got replaced. It doesn't feel any different, but seems quieter. I'm away at the moment, when I get home I'll post a photo of the offending item.
  17. Scotland would do it for me, I'd love to go back.
  18. Dunno if someone has a plan for this part of the world? I think BFG was saying something maybe, but he also said he was very busy this year, and he has organised 2 trips now. I live in Clare in the west coast of ireland, near Limerick city, nice spot with the cliffs of Moher and the Burren within an hour or so. There's a decent pub/b&b / campground near me,on the Shannon river, and I could organise something for augustish, but I won't know for sure until late february whether I'm free. But it's just a thought. It's a bit far for the continentals, And we've done Ireland 2 years running now. Would people prefer Wales/Scotland?
  19. Sounds good to me. Because Denmark is somewhere I know pretty much nothing about, apart from good looking women, nice beer, and something about metallica. Oh, and the Danes spend more money on entertaining themselves then any other nation in Europe. The Irish are second. Despite my best efforts... Bring on the Spring!
  20. Any thoughts, suggestions,? I'm snowed in, minus 8 degrees. Need something to look forward too.
  21. So, ah, where do I get to break down this time?
  22. cute bike!
  23. Finally, not a great shot. this is a view of Omaha beach, taken from the US cemetary.
  24. Finally on the road again. St Mere eglise, note the parachute attached to the church steeple.
  25. The beer tap in holland. A very guzzi friendly place...
