  1. I should take advantage. I rarely get enough head. Ahem. In LA now. what a glamourous life I lead. Still haven't slept properly.
  2. I see Jaap's been busy closing pointless, boring, boorish threads on the usual topics lately. I think anyone who opens a thread on guns, politics or global warming should be shot with a ball of their own shite using a 5.6mm steyr Aug assault rifle, similar to the one I used in the army. You know, the one with the bipod, telescopic sight...wait a minute.... oh bugger. TOPIC CLOSED!!!!!!!! TeeHee!! Just a bit bored myself. Stuck in a hotel room in Shang Hai. Can't sleep...........................................
  3. I'm getting confused as to where to post this(!), but I'll be there, maybe with John. Donegal would be lovely, spectacular scenery, as long as it's not raining. Nevermind, it'll be be dry in the pub.
  4. I'm there for sure, I've booked a couple of weeks leave around then, so I may make it a longer trip, maybe take in some war graves in france or something. I think My pal john is coming, he bought himself a bmw rt and he wants to stretch it's legs. He was considering a guzzi, but after my hassle, he didn't. Can't blame him. On that note, I finally got the tenni back from the garage with it's new clutch, and near as I can make out it's not leaking oil. I've only ridden it about thirty miles, but fingers crossed. What it is doing now, is as I begin to roll the throttle, it stutters and hiccups. it's fine when the throttles open. There's a new tankfull, so it's not dirty fuel, but maybe the fuel injectors are a bit mucky. Afterall, it wasn't ridden for nearly 6 months, and it was out in the open for a lot of that. Hopefully, I'll sort it out. I'll contact the place in holland in a few days, and book a room. Should be a laugh!
  5. I've just come back from visiting the in laws in duncan. You're going to need a boat. Oddly enough it's flooding in my neck of the woods too. I think God is trying to tell us something.
  6. Wait, it was beside the sea? there were green fields? Cows, for Gods sake? I think we were shortchanged.
  7. moan, moan moan. Just because you have a bit of a sniffle, you think you're bored! I'm being subjected to motherfecking x factor!!! I can't escape it. I go to work ,it's all people talk about. I'm at home it's all I hear about. I tried watching Ireland draw with australia today in the rugby, what was being talked about? bleedin x factor. And as I write this, guess what the mrs., the cat and the 3 dogs are forcing me to watch? you guessed it.... I'm guessing this translates by the way. x factor is one of those simon cowell vehicles, britains got talent type of things. ugh. Hope you're feeling better by the way. And not, you know, dead....
  8. I'm there! hopefully on a guzzi....
  9. I'm all for a meet or two, ideally the dutch trip in september(my mate John is coming, I'm trying to dissuade him from buying a bm 1200t for it) and any local trips would be great. Doolin's about an hour from me. I was hoping for a trip to the uk somewhere in early summer(someone mentioned Scotland), but any spin for a few days would be pleasant. Been quiet lately as the Tenni is still off the road, after a new clutch/flywheel debacle that lasted 3 months due a spares snafu(thankyou ducati dublin), and an oil leak that just won't fix itself. despite 2 new gaskets. Anyway it forced me to use the katana for the summer which was no bad thing, but as it stands the tenni is still in the local garage. I'll give all the details as soon as the happy ending arrives.
  10. Shit, all we have to worry about is rain. I wouldn't mind a bear, just for a bit of excitement.
  11. Have to say, I'd always recommend a Brazillian. Ahem.
  12. Thank you dlaing, I was beginning to wonder if this was guzzi site or not! Is there something I'm missing, I mean, I'm sure the bm is a better bike, but who wants to be ewan magregor anyway. He hasn't been in a decent movie since Trainspotting, for gods'sake. Although I wouldn't mind his salary. Not bad for a Scottish dwarf.
  13. Nice one, Louise, that's a pretty bike. I had a thunderbird for a few years, and thoroughly loved it. Not too powerful, just enough to scare yourself! Of course, you're going to have to get a bunch of tatoos now. And maybe sideburns. Maybe not....
  14. I'm there! I can't guarantee I'll get the leave mind you, but September should be ok. Holland,eh? They drink beer there don't they? Now we just need a date for a uk trip, and my summer's sorted! I don't get the bit about the bullet and the church ,though. Please explain.
  15. Just scared the dogs, I laughed so loud!
  16. I'm looking at the same choice, probably going to invest next year. I was planning on the norge. I don't like ujms, bmws are ugly, and i couldn't abide an electra glide. And it looks good in red!
  17. I wasn't expecting this thread. And neither was my wife.
  18. I like the idea of 2 rallies, the euro one I'll book some leave and make a holiday out of it, the uk one can be done on a dirty weekend. As long as the dates for the dutch trip are firmed up,(I have to book my leave about 7 months in advance) I'm there!
  19. So where to next year?!!!! What's that? Did I hear Wales???
  20. Great story, beautiful bike. Nice wife, too.
  21. If you're referring to the griso up in belfast, It looked ok last week! It was been ridden fairly "spiritidly" too. I'm guessing that's a real word. Apparently The parts are going to cost about £650 sterling, so including manhours I'm probably looking at 1000 euro. Yeah if I knew what I was doing I'd probably be able to do it cheaper myself, but the point is I don't. The double clutch makes more sense, but the price was going to increase again, so I had to be a bit prudent. S'funny, I thought it looked like brushed aluminium, but was told by a non-guzzisti it was steel. We stand corrected. The sorry end to this tale, is a few days ago, lovely summers day I take the old katana out for a spin. Then the battery dies, and I end up limping home on 3 cylinders too. At least I can fix that. Then 2 days ago, the alternator gave up on one of my cars. Yesterday the (new)heating boiler in my house nearly blew up. It seem's everything I touch at the moment is breaking/blowing up/generally turning to shit. I'm an airline pilot ,by the way.
  22. Oh, how they laughed at the ulster rally when I said I thought it sounded 'off'. Bertie with his weird scottish accent, BFG, Guzzirider, all the unbelieving. The only sympathetic voice was Mrs. Guzzirider. "Doesn't sound quite right, does it?", she says. Woman's intuition, see. Monday morning, whizzing south after about 20 minutes the bike's clutch started to rattle badly below 2500 rpm. It then got embarrasing to transit those quiet ulster villages. Children ran and dogs snarled. Remember that scene towards the end of "Saving Private Ryan", when the tiger tank enters the small village and as the driver revs his engine the whole place shook? Something like that. Bizzarely, above 2500rpm all was sweetness and light. Much head scratching ensued. I decided to engage home mode and made another 100 miles or so, when, just south of Dublin, the clutch stopped clutching. Ahhh, the joys of calling the AA , waiting in the rain, hauling the bike onto the back of a truck, banal conversation in the front cab as we all travel leisurely toward home on 4 wheels . Well, I think it was 10 actually, but you know what I mean. I've been here before! Fast forward a week, and I'm standing in the garage of my local bike shop(thankfully a good one), staring at the innards of a sick tenni, and an exploded flywheel. I've done the research. It's happenned to about 40 V11's. I believe this is the first Tenni. I've owned the bike since new, it only has 14000 miles, and that's a very solid looking piece of steel. Except it's in 3 pieces. And of course it'll cost a fortune, like everything else in this country. This is the third time the bike has needed to be towed to a garage. Not including last years infamous Diesel episode. Ahem. I should have bought a honda.
  23. Yeah, and it's buggered. Standby for an explanation.
  24. I'm guessing that's not rory gallagher he's standing beside....
  25. me too. and a viggen. You've got to hand it to the swedes, their beer is shite, but they make great airplanes!
