  1. Learned of new talent and remembered some old too. All good. See if I can return the favor. Some East coasters doing the West Coast approach
  2. I got several of the new relays and have been running them for a little while now with no issues so far. At first glance they do appear to be very high quality and tightly sealed. The connectors are nicely coated and while they weigh a gram or so more than the others they are at least 5% smaller so they are not crowded together as the others which may help with the heat issue addressed in this thread.
  3. From the album: Optional parts

    Better quality Panasonic replacement relays
  4. Not yet, The one I have on there now came a NOS set of gauges. Neither the old or the new works which is what brought me here. Just want to make sure everything is as it should be before I crack the eggs open. Thanks, looks like a brown lead according to the diagram.
  5. Trying to get some guidance on all the components involved in the tachometer circuit in order to troubleshoot. When I purchased the bike the tach was not working and from over the years of collecting Guzzi parts I happened to have a NOS tach and speedo so I just replaced it. Unfortunately, this did not work. I know the ground is good because the light works fine letting me know that even in the dark I can still see the tach is not working. Where to go from here...I assume the signal comes from the ignition. Coils? ECU?
  6. Sign me up. I'll take one.
  7. I'[m thinking sticky pump means three year old gas is involved. Not chewed chin pad. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-MOTO-GUZZI-SPORT-V11-Fuel-gas-tank-top-cushion-pad-mounting-brackets-/361301086508?hash=item541f39112c:g:qtwAAOSwhwdVUlQ4&vxp=mtr
  8. I wish I had not read that... Now I want a CF tank for my Scura. I'm sure it's cost prohibitive but there are folks out there making tanks out of Carbon Fiber. They have never setup the shop section of their website as they probably figured out that only Ducati folk are willing to spend this kind of money. They usually show up at Barber's every year so you might get them to ballpark a price. They do some lovely things to a v11 sport. http://www.moto-studio.com

If you want a "lightweight" wallet you could go Kineo. Currently, you can get them from Guzzitech or from Ghezzi - Brian
  10. Docc, I have used the Panasonic products in the past. Discovered them when doing business with a company called Easter Beaver http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/main.html (Canadian Guy marries a Japanese woman and...you get the rest) With all the talk about bad relays I had thought about trying some to see how they held up. They're very durable, well sealed, and tolerate heat well. They are also rated to 35amp. Not to expensive either and I trust a Japanese part to a Chinese one any day. Have seen these sold as replacements for older bikes. Upgraded connections recommended. http://www.cycleterminal.com/accessory-relays.html Spec sheet https://www.panasonic-electric-works.com/cps/rde/xbcr/pew_eu_en/ds_61204_en_cm.pdf Volume purchase: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Panasonic-Industrial-Devices/CM1-12V/?qs=UO%2Fx91QLkSBUaPb1eC%2FvuQ%3D%3D

  12. First casualty. The Stable from another perspective. A couple more
  13. Looks like it may be prudent to avoid the Maggie Valley area this weekend. http://handlebarcorral.com/
  14. The bars really make the ride more comfortable. No more back pain plus arm and shoulder fatigue is reduced. It does raise the mass but does not displace much toward the rear or at least none that I can tell. Little harder to shift your weight side to side with my arms in a more relaxed position but it removes a lot of the shock from sudden bumps in the road. In this configuration I don't hesitate to ride a 400+ mile day. I would ride it for at least a thousand miles before doing any reconfiguration.
  15. Nick, I should be checking in around lunch time. I hope to benefit from some technical expertise in the fueling department myself. Sure would like to eliminate that low rpm sneeze.
  16. Huh. These guys are like 10 minutes from me. Maybe I will stop by and show them my V11 and see what they say. Certainly would not mind going this way and will be interested in what they say as they make no mention of any type of tank other than metal on their website. Any feedback from the visit? Busy schedule?
  17. http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=276&products_id=141 Recently purchased a new angle drive from MGCycle after mine spit the plug out one day. Could actually fix that one if I could find another plug.
