It's probably easier to get to the edge of the tread when the tire is a bit narrow for the rim. I've noticed that on my bikes before.

Goodness, I hate it when I'm definitely completely overboard! I hope that's a forgivable offense. If not, I will leave quietly. I also don't understand how airbox removal would make it run rich, but I have never played with an airboxless V11. Just speaking from experiences with many bikes with major airbox mods or removal, often they run so lean as to not be rideable at all. Luhbo, I don't doubt your experience on this, just don't understand it. Is it because the filters are placed right on the throttle bodies and you lose the ram effect of the long intake tubes? And I did say might!

I agree with dumping the Powercommander, but with the airbox gone, you might end up running dangerously lean without some other fueling mods. On the handling, another way to speed up the handling is to run tires with a more "pointy" profile vs more "rounded". It works but it worked a little bit too well for me on one bike.

Meinolf told me to go with .012"! I'll gladly give up a bit of top end for more power in the real world rpm range. Not a huge difference but I'll take what I can get. It's not half as loud as my BMW airhead was.

I'll throw my in to confuse things further. I don't think 30/31 can do any supporting of the crownwheel. They just interface between the axle and gearcase, basically holding up the swingarm side of the gearcase and letting it rotate a bit on the axle with suspension movement. 36 is the only other apparent support for the wheel side of the gearcase to the axle. It just happens to be mounted in the crownwheel but will still carry the weight of the wheel side of the case. Otherwise the weight of the wheel side of the case would just be resting on the drive spline. 12 and 26 are the crownwheel bearings, supporting it to the gearcase housing and cover. It seems that if 12 were missing, then 36 would have to stand in for it and take a lot of the load of the crownwheel torque. Without 36, there's no support for the case end of the crownwheel. 30 and 31 are fully outboard of the crownwheel. Of course I'm not looking at one in person so who knows if I'm making any sense.

On the idling and stalling issue, opening up the valve clearance helps a lot with idle and low speed running, and will make the bike just a bit more torquey as well. I'm running .011" intake and exhaust. Most people don't go that loose, but my bike idles flawlessly and the valves aren't much noisier than they were. Can't hear them with earplugs! Also if you get the 2 cables to hook your laptop to the bikes ECU, you can use Guzzidiag to set your CO trim. If the setting is off it can make the fueling too rich or, more likely, lean and that will mess with the idle, among other things. It sounds really involved but it's really pretty easy to do. Also set the TPS voltage to 157mv. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19641 http://lonelec.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=51 http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12204 Tinkering with all these little things makes a huge difference in the happiness level of your bike!

You won't get any notification other than the box arriving at your house.

I don't get how you are supposed to state what you are running without that being your opinion of what is good/best. Disclaimer: beers may have impeded my ability to understand such points.

If that was a tendency, for the RLSPH to turn to goo, it seems like there would be a lot of complaints out there on the interwebs. People pulling the drain plug and nothing comes out. What I remember is all the positive reviews, unless maybe I have blocked out the bad ones. Per footgoose, isn't that goo kind of what it would look like if it was an emulsion of water and oil?

2009 V12 LeMans. Dingdingding! Mirrors so you can keep an eye on your arms.

Red line shockproof heavy in my gearbox. I guess I'm not allowed to say it worked wonders with shift quality, even compared to RL shockproof medium that I was running. Oops!

The long slow winters of WI

I'll re-suggest this one by LowRyter on another thread. About Ernst Degner: There's a really well written book "Stealing Speed" about Ernst' defection and betrayal of his mentor, Walter Kaaden. Part spy, part racing, part heartbreak, part tech and innovation of two stroke bikes. https://www.amazon.c...t/dp/1844259757 -
No lifters will be removed with cylinders in place.

I don't suppose you have any way to compare the Griso peg to the V11 peg, in case the Griso ones could be modified to work on our bikes. I like the multiple lowering options.

Crap, I had my fingers crossed that was it. At least now you can enjoy a more involved learning experience than you hoped for.

I figured if anyone knew exactly how it works it would be Meinolf. -

Understood, and not trying to be argumentative, but on a big displacement bike, at cruise speeds, the throttle will usually be barely open. Maybe 10 to 20 percent at most. That is usually largely what determines fuel mileage in my experience. A good way to see the real effects of the trim setting would be to check it with an air/fuel datalogger. I don't have mine yet, and I just got my non-crossover headers, so now with no air leaks to mess with the O2 sensor, I can proceed with the tuning. I'll admit I will probably be too lazy to ever get around to checking exactly what the trim setting does. Maybe someone already has. Meinolf? -
I would think even if there's a bit too much pressure with the extra washer it would take quite a while to hurt anything. Just don't take any long trips.
-
It's been a few months but I remember having to force the spring and washers in when reassembling, then it was hard to slide them around so the shaft would come through. Yours look a lot weaker than that.
-
The springs on mine are really strong. You definitely can't "easily" slide the rocker arms. It seems like if you can, that could easily be your noise. I wouldn't have thought those springs would lose tension, since they don't really get flexed in operation.

I admit I like my internal pump. And my Ohlins!

Small throttle openings light switch ...How does your's feel?

Can you elaborate? I read somewhere on the forum that the CO trim has less and less effect as the throttle is opened. I don't to be a misinformation spreader! -
Thanks, looks like they won't ship to the US. I found these, from Hong Kong. 4x-Anti-Vibration-Rubber-Bobbin-Damper-Mounts

Makes me want to sell my bike and buy an earlier one so I can have one of those lines!
