  1. Early start tomorrow to pick up the V11!!! It will be a 1700 mile round trip. My old buddy is going with to keep me company and help load. I upgraded my Harbor Freight ramp to a much better unit that will make loading more drama free. I will post some pictures of the event Sunday.
  2. I sold my perfect 2003 EVT a few years ago and still feel the pangs now and then. It was a good all rounder. It handled better than it really should have, and a properly sorted hydro motor is a great powerplant!
  3. Interesting story, but maddening also. Although my 1000S came from Georgia, it was last registered, and ridden in Virginia - 2010. It has sat in dry (luckily) storage since.
  4. Docc, that 1200 mile drive just to come back empty handed sounds painful. How did the deal go sour?
  5. Docc, this 1000S came out of Georgia.
  6. I finally own a 1000S! It needs a thorough going over, which I am happy to give it. It came with the side covers, so no worries there. The toughest part to find will be the black plastic shroud for the instruments.
  7. My 1973 V7 Sport
  8. I will be driving out to pick it up July 6th! I will post pictures of the event!
  9. Brake and clutch fluids have been changed regularly on this bike also. Ferracci did the tune and dyno. I am looking forward to seeing the dyno sheet.
  10. The Craigslist ad is down now, but here are a few pictures I saved from it.
  11. Fly and ride sounds fun, but I will either pick it up or contract with a hauler. I will decide today. I want to go over the bike thoroughly and put new rubber on it before it starts racking up miles. Jim from Rose Farm Classics set up this bike. I remember when he was prepping these. His prep is very extensive, but that was almost 10 years ago. This V11 was sold new in 2009.
  12. Now I have to decide if I am going out to pick it up or arrange for a bike hauler.
  13. It's all Fotoguzzi's fault!
  14. The Jersey bike is coming back to Illinois!
  15. Wow, that's a nice one. Thanks!
  16. Hello to all on the forum. I live in northern Illinois, and have started looking in earnest for a nice V11. I have owned a number of Guzzis over the years and have kept most of them, only parting with a 2003 EVT that I still have some pangs of sellers remorse for. I have been a member for a couple of years, but have waited until now to start my search.
  17. This 2002 Tenni is much closer and seems to be well cared for. It has just under 10k miles. It is also fairly pricey. Maybe its a fair price for a Tenni. I really wouldn't know at this point. https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/mcy/d/2002-moto-guzzi-v11-tenni/6623656143.html
  18. It is a 2003. It was my impression from our phone conversation that the owner had the fairing painted the original color, but I could be wrong. I live in northern Illinois. The bike is in Springfield, Mo. About a 7.5 hour drive. Not that far for a V11. The owner did not know if it had the single plate or dual plate clutch.
  19. After a number of years of lurking on this forum I have decided to start getting serious about finding a V11. In preparation for the day I got in on the last group buy of Roper plates, just in case. I might be the only guy out there with the plate but no bike I have other bikes to ride and therefore have the luxury of taking my time waiting for just the right bike. I have somewhat of a preference for the flyscreen models, but haven't ruled out the full fairing. The first bike that really seems interesting is in the Classified section. I saw it first on Craigslist and then saw the owners ad here today. I had a nice conversation with the current owner Bob. He impressed me as a very good caretaker. He has ridden BMW mostly over the years, but really likes the V11 series. Arthritis and advancing years have convinced him it is time to sell this 2003 Lemans. He has performed the shifter pawl spring mod, taken care of the timing chain cover oil leak, and in general taken very good care of this bike. It was tipped over at a standstill on gravel, receiving a few scratches in the process. Bob commissioned the local high zoot sports car professional painter to paint the fairing and tail. It certainly looks like a nice job. The miles are quite low at just under 6k miles, but it hasn't suffered from neglect. I hesitate to jump on this one as I just began looking, but it seems like a nice one coming from this uniformed V11 guy.
  20. Nowhere on my V11 yet as I do not have one. I have started getting more serious about finally finding one. I have done things in reverse order. I got in on the group buy for the Roper plate a couple years ago. So I have the plate, but no V11 . This is also my first post on the forum. I hope to pick your brains as I start searching,
