This was a stumper!!! Being a good Canadian kid from Manitoba I recognized the Bomby engine right away... but the rest was a brain bender! I'd give the nod to BigJ on this one... Rj -
What time is it?

He just handed his beer to his buddy and said "WATCH this". Rj -
Yes. While leaving work at the hospital one afternoon I arrived at my Triumph cafe racer to find a smokin hot nurse checking it out. I puffed up my chest and sauntered over and we started talking about the bike. She REALLY liked it I REALLY liked her . So after agreeing to take her for a ride the following afternoon I hopped on, kicked her over, revvered her up, popped the clutch, and then it all went very very bad... I had completely forgotten about the disk lock on the front rotor... Luckily she was a nurse. Luckily I was already at the hospital. Unluckily, she lost all interest in ever getting on a bike with me... Rj

Quiz number....?

This is a tricky one! None? They all contain his bike... but sometimes it is in the foreground... Are we only counting the ones where it is in the background? Do reflections in windows count? Really Martin - you must take your eyes off that bike occasionally??? This is bordering on Tenni behavior - we may have to paint your bike green and banish you into the Tenni abyss... Rj -
I can assure you that I am certainly not one of them! I have never been accused of being wise, nor should I be allowed to lead in any situation! Rj

Yet you still insist on hanging out with the "riff-raff". Shouldn't you be over in your "exclusive" area? nudge nudge Rj

A wink's as good as a nudge to a blind bat - so wink, wink, nudge, nudge... Scura owners are soooo sensitive... I guess I'd be sensitive too if I had been suckered into an inferior machine... It just isn't as much fun when I have to wink!!! Rj

I have gone through the whole sag/spring/spacer thing on both my old Triumph and Ducati. Both were transformed by the process! I expected to do the same with the Guzzi, even bought the Yamaha F1 springs that were supposed to work but then someone posted that they actually don't... I've been watching the spring replacement theories progress, but it was extremely disheartening to not be able to figure out how the bloody legs come apart. It isn't like I've never done this stuff before... Once I've got it figured out how to disassemble/reassemble and what everything looks like, then I'll get playing on the sag/spring thing. Already bought one set of springs that will rust in the corner... Rj

fun... at times... been a little too much "fun" this year and not nearly enough FUN! Gross negligence is my specialty officer! Thanks Ratchet!! Rj

I unthreaded the caps from the slider, slid slider down, drained oil, slid slider up, refilled and spun cap back on. At no point did I have any parts actually separated... Cap remained attached to blue thingy, which remained attached to whatever it attaches to. When I said "put cap back on" I really should have said "rethreaded cap into tube". It all worked quite well until it overflowed... This is my first new bike... before the Guzzi, the newest bike I owned was a 79 Honda 400... It has been quite a learning curve... Rj

Perfect TIME to ressurect this unholy thread! All Hallow's eve... Return of the Undead Thread... spooky Rj -
Well that's a relief! I automatically assume worst case scenario with this thing. How do the springs come out? When I took the legs out and unscrewed the cap, the cap was still attached to all the guts. Put a wrench on the blue thingy (high tech lingo) but it only spun the lowers around. Figured I'd better stop before I wrecked something (a regular occurence). Thanks! Rj

Bloody hell!!! I just get a good chunk of my bike put back together... and now I have to go back and disassemble it farther than it was before! I've about had it with this thing. So... what do I need to disassemble the forks? Had a peek in there but have no idea how to actually take one apart Rj

I'm certainly for killing god's little creatures. I just don't think of it as sport. Still hoping to get down to Texas to take advantage of their "he needed killin" law. Rj

I'd like to know this as well... Just put my front end back together, included a fork oil change. No problem on the left leg - drain fluid (didn't measure it) and refilled with a measured out 400mls. Went back in no problem, put cap back on. But on the right leg, same drill, except when refilling it overfilled before I got it all in. Figured I didn't get it all out the first time. Drain again, this time pumped the heck out of it and left it sit longer. Nothing coming out at all for a long time, refill. Same thing. Wants to overflow. Got it all in, but I could see the top of the oil level, quite close to the cap... it was no where near this high in the other leg... It's all back together now... but I'm worried that the first good bump will hydraulically bottom out the fork... Rj

I have put more than a few bullets though the hearts of many various creatures. Although an enjoyable pasttime, and does put meat in the ol' freezer... I still can't see how a semi-auto 30-06 vs. bambi is any kind of sport... But to call me a liberal???!!! Them's fightin' words! 'specially here in Canada. Bloody Liberals... Rj

Fernando just turned down a $10 AUS bid on his Tenni from G Forrest. A fool in my opinion. Lucky to get an offer at all. Tho' that did include delivery... Try using that as an initial bargaining point in your dispute and haggle up from there. Rj

I'm all for hunting, but a sport?? Maybe if the animals had guns too... Rj

A Tenni...??? Unfortunate... I think you'll find that you are stuck with it. Although someone did make a surprisingly high offer. The local dealer had two of them for the longest time until he suckered some guy from the Island into buying one. The other he had to ship out to the other coast to get rid of it. IIRC the shipping cost more than the bike... The only thing harder to get rid of is a Scura... The Irish are the only ones buying those dogs. You'll learn to like the Tenni. Rj

That's about right actually. With Guzzi blowing out remaining V11's at massive discounts there are some great deals on new bikes with warranty. Guzzi is a niche market at best. At the moment resale prices are at rock bottom (common speculation). Once the new bikes are gone we may see a rise in resale over time, as the bikes become more "collectable". You can find new '04 LeMans going for 8-9K new... so 6K used isn't far off the mark. Unless you have a Tenni or a Scura in which case you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting more than a grand or two. Those poor bastards are busy trying to convince themselves of some "exclusive" membership in something or other in the hopes of creating some (read "any") kind of demand for their rat bikes. cheers, Rj

What's so great about a shaved pussy? There are much better ways to torture a cat...
