  1. At least he's "looking where he wants to go"... Rj
  2. By Crickey!! Finally my pig is making sense!!! My last conversation with my mechanic: BMG: "I really think my bike is running lean" Mechanic: "yeah - you wouldn't believe how lean it is running. Seems to be making good power though..." That's it. I'm taking over my bike wrenching. I've obviously left too much to the hands of Guzzi trained mechanic. From now on I'll trust what I know and not assume they know better!!! Thanks John!!! I'm going to get everything sorted out where it is supposed to be stock (including finding some other shop who can reset my ECU to stock config)and then go for a dynotune in the spring. I remember them monkeying with the stock ECU to "lean it out for better mileage" when I complained about 23mpg being on the low side. "My bad" obviously. hopeful again, Ryan
  3. Martin, BFG... check episode 84... Joanie had a good time in that one... http://www.tvacres.com/motorcycles_fonz.htm Rj
  4. I'm alright with the alphabet. It's the alphabet math I have trouble with. Rj
  5. I don't know what you're talking about...
  6. What??? Shagging Fonzie on his Triumph isn't a connection?? Seems spot on to me... Joanie may have loved Chachi, but she REALLY loved that vibrating little bike... Rj
  7. Gotta go with Staedtler on this one. HD ownership is not to be enterred into lightly! You might want to start off small... Due to a higher volume of sales of clothing, accessories and other harley paraphernalia, and coupled with tight financial times that put a further squeeze on overpriced, under performing machinery, Harley Davidson has partnered with Proptronics to produce a specialty motorcycle called "Stylin Iron". Proptronics is the company famous for making fake appliances that are used in model homes for purposes of show only. In a brilliant management decision, Harley Davidson decided to face the fact that the only reason most people buy their equipment is indeed as fashion accessory. By building a prop motorcycle, costs can be dramatically cut. The new "Stylin Iron" will have the look and feel of a real Harley motorcycle and comes equipped with a recorded potato-potato synthesizer, smoky air pump to simulate exhaust and an adjustable rate oil leak. The bike is priced at under $1200 and will be available for the upcoming holiday season. The "Stylin Iron" is expected to be a huge success allowing fashion conscious Harley consumers to spend even more of their hard earned cash on leather, hats, jeans, Tshirts sunglasses, jewelery , leather dog vests and glasses along with related other junk. Engineers who have tested the "Stylin Iron" claim it performs just as well on the road given a suitable downhill grade and tailwind.
  8. I thought of that... that's why I went with a color that is always in style - cheap hooker red. Rj
  9. Awwwww... I missed Jim doing a wheelie Next time I get to leave last OK! The powder coat on the Duc looks fine now, but it is rather thin and there are some nooks where it is still bare steel. I've been hitting the bare spots with nail polish as I find them... I just worry about what it will look like in 5 yrs. Cheers, Rj
  10. Not that I know anything, but I was under the impression that the T100 was so named as it would do 100 mph out of the box, and the T120 Bonny would do 120 mph... Rj
  11. I'm sure Fonzie's "boffer" fell in the "accepted as safe" length range of 1" - 6'6". Although I question the safety of a 6 foot boffer... Just as I question BFG's sanity... Rj
  12. Thanks Jim! It took me an hour to get all the slobber cleaned off last night She is still sputtering and fussin a bit when cold. Just a little fine tuning to do yet on the carbies. Good to see you and Steve again too! Rj
  13. She was boffing Fonzie on his Triumph. Rj
  14. Who's the guy in the center who is regailing the boys about his last trip to the proctologist? Rj
  15. Which one was burned at the stake? I'm not far from washing it with petrol and drying with match... Hoping to fall in love again... Rj
  16. I'm completely with you, Windchill. I spent a lot of money on my V11 with the understanding that I was dealing with a company who has been in business for, what, 80 yrs?? Reputation as reliable and bulletproof as BMW except with soul. Easy to work on low maintenance bikes. My piggo has never run right, my dealer makes half hearted efforts to make it better (I'm on my own now with god knows what they've actually done to the thing). I've spent tons of money on aftermarket parts to resolve "issues". Now, today, after a grand total of 12K kms, the goose is nothing more than a pile of parts lying on the floor of my garage. I've become completely disgusted with Guzzi. Still waiting for warranty claims from 3 years ago (good luck). Hoping one day I'll actually get motivated to put it back together. For the brief period of time the thing was working reasonably well I absolutely loved it. If I had wanted a project bike, I could have gotten one a lot cheaper than this. Anyone who tells me I should expect this from any manufacturer in this time and age... please step within slapping distance. The Chinese are cranking out better quality bikes from factories that have only been in operation for a couple of years. I expect, and have paid for, better. Rj
  17. Oh YEAH!!! Now I want one! NitroGooso Rj
  18. Not something I'd buy... but certainly easier on the eyes than the grease pig... But then I like Christmas - I grew up on a Christmas tree and reindeer farm. or less Rj
  19. If a tree falls in the forest with no one to hear... blah blah blah... It's all quarks and leptons to me. Rj
  20. That's just poor form! I hope he didn't leave you negative feedback... Rj
  21. does not compute... Rj
  22. I don't know what he crashed on, but if Steve says that's a Daytona then it's a Daytona. The boy knows his bikes!!! Rj
  23. That's great news! Better if his home had faired better, but family (Guzzi included ) is what is important. Those Texas trailers must be something serious! Rj
  24. Those are some great pics BFG! Can't sing... well, OK, but does surprisingly well for a guy who crushed his larynx in said crash... Can't argue his songwriting ability tho'! Rj
  25. Ouch! Heal up quick Mike! And do get a second opinion. I had a dislocated shoulder in the spring (hockey) that was misdiagnosed. It was dislocated alright, but the upper arm bone also had a nasty spiral fracture. This was missed for 5 weeks before they finally took xrays. Kept telling me that it would be fine next week... I thought it felt broken... cheers, Rj
