  3. I used bicycle bar end mirrors. Look good, work well, much less vibe in the bars. Drilled and tapped my stock bar end weights to mount. Fits the bike so well I've had several people say it looks stock. Ant the things are only $16 each. Rj
  4. I do that just to torment you Antonio! Bubblicious is a brand of kid's chewing gum, especially known for pulling fillings out of teeth, and occasionally causing your mouth to stick closed. As a roadside repair, it can be effective, but I really don't reccomend it as a permanent fix. Sorry for the confusion... Rj
  5. I have consulted my Guzzi factory assembly proceedures manual for the answer to your predicament. Factory SOP's confirm that the mirrors are indeed held on with bubble gum. Try using grape bubblicious - I have had extremely good results with it's holding power. Always happy to help cheers,
  6. I deal with gel cells at work all the time. Best thing to do to store them is to charge them up to full capacity, then disconnect and store in the fridge. Not the freezer. The lower temp slows the chemical reaction and limits the amount of "self discharge". This self discharge is about 20% per month for a gel cell. After a few months the battery loses its charge and begins to sulfate. Once it sulfates, no worky any more. You might even charge them once mid winter. Constant trickle charge is unneccesary and constant charge without current draw can be harmful long term. just my 2 cdn pesos... Rj
  7. I picked up a pair of "superwhite" bulbs off of ebay cheap (IIRC $8.99). Same wattage as stock. Great improvement! Not only is everything clearer, but my friends say I am much more visible. The bulb is blue but the light is very white with just a hint of blue. So far haven't been hassled by the man for it. Rj
  8. Watch it Robson! Yer a lot closer than Belfast... Rj
  9. No, but I know where I'd look first. Rj
  10. Alright! Let's get this back on topic and talk about how much TIME it will take for me to come over and kick some Irish ass! I can ass kick in metric, imperial, or whitworth - your choice. Rj
  11. bastard! *&%# oil threads! Rj
  12. Whoa, Belfast Dude! You gotta lay off the sauce man! Rj
  13. You don't really need the vice grip. Rj
  14. Bikes leave the factory with synth? My 01 V11 had dino oil in it on the show floor. The service guy told me not to go to synthetic until after the second service. This is all I know. I know what it says in the service manual, but there is an awful lot that it leaves unsaid! Rj
  15. One of the new Sport Classics on order to boot! I am seriously considering flogging my old version for a deposit (POS has so many problems and the restoration is going to end up being way more than one of the repro's). If it wasn't for the fact that she grabs me like a loose 'ho she'd be someone else's problem by now. Am I still talking about motorcycles...? Sounds very cool. Another reason to go down, thanks for the info, Rj
  16. Now that is some good info... 3 runs for $50 - I'm all over that! Any good reason for a day trip across the border. Cassandra isn't going to smack me when I mention your name, is she??? Rj
  17. Thanks for keeping us on topic Bento! I figure I'll be OK just as long as she NEVER sees that tulip costume thingy. You're a sick sick boy Goran! Rj
  18. We have an agreement. She wears this for me and I wear whatever the hell she wants.
  19. I'll wear any costume that gets me a stompin'! Rj This is the 9th page.. is it not? (typo?)
  20. I'm using that one tonight on my girlfriend! (she is a Dutch citizen) I could use a good stomping! Rj
  21. If it isn't the flux capacitor then I don't know what the heck it is. Seriously.. this is a very weird problem. All I kcan think of is that there is a glitch in the new ECU. Did this just show up 900mi after the mods or was it there right after the mods? Perhaps the ECU isn't mapped for the lidless airbox? That could create a lean condition... really, we need more info to help you... cheers, Rj
  22. Woo Hoo!!! I'm going home! Rj
