  1. I'd love one Mike. 2nd from right or 3rd... depends on what Ben wants of course. Would you like some smoked Salmon? let me know... cheers! Rj
  2. VERY nice, Ben, VERY nice! You've chosen well! Rj
  3. Bullshit. I have a BMC on my bike. I also have several K&N's sitting in my garage. Clean your BMC and take it in to your favorite WallyMart and hold it up to the light right beside a K&N. THEN YOU CAN TELL ME THAT THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. PROVIDE THIS MAGICAL SOURCE YOU KEEP REFERRING TO THAT SAYS BMC IS IN ANY WAY DIFFERENT THAN A K&N. I know you can't. There is no way in hell that a BMC is keeping more crap out of an engine than a K&N. I can see perfectly well with my own two eyes. Have you ever looked at yours????? Piss off. Rj
  4. The only problem with using heatsink compound on the OEM is getting the sensor out of the housing without the crappy plastic housing disintegrating. Some have been successful, many have not. I went with the brass housing and have seen immediate drastic improvements. Rj
  5. I did the second I read the title of the thread last night. Run away Kevin. Rat has no interest in any argument that does not fit into his preconceived halucinations. I've already been down this road with him and he has done nothing except ignore the serious flaws in that study, which I'm certain you also see. Others have also pointed it out but it is like arguing with a 5 year old who keeps coming back with "I know you are but what am I?". I am tickled with laughter to discover after all our bickering in that thread to learn that the great Rat himself uses a BMC (which is absolutely identical to a K&N) in his Guzzi. Epitome of hipocrasy. Rj
  6. Hey Greg, hard to pick a bad route once you get away from the lower mainland. Can't help much with construction etc... haven't gotten out of town much this summer. Rj
  7. Always time for a 'vair enthusiast! Can't help much with the custom leathers - the only person I know who's had leathers made had them done in a small town about 4 hrs drive from here and it took a few months to get them done. Someone else might know... As for test riding a Norge... British Italian M/C's in Vancouver proper is the local dealer. He does have a Norge in there but trying to get a test ride out of Charlie is worse than pulling teeth. I've bought two bikes from him, neither of which he'd let me test drive. The other dealer is out in Chilliwack which is a fair drive from Vancouver, depending on if you are caught in highway traffic... I don't know them personally (I really should as HeliJim raves about their service) but if they have a Norge they might let it out. Jim would know better. Interested in a partial case of corvair oil filters? Found them in my garage in the spring from when I had my 'vairs. I have no use for them. cheers, Rj
  8. Certainly not the experience I've had with mine. It is no secret you strive to discredit every single post I make. The extent of your testing has been to get the front wheel off the ground and move it around?? You do know how a damper works?? I've taken mine apart and studied it myself. If you take it off, as I have, you will feel that there is in fact significant damping on the lowest setting. I've ridden significant Km's both with it on low and without it completely (this is zero damping). There is a significant damping and anyone can easily feel the difference. I've said my peace - you can continue with your non-stop stream of self congratulatory verbal masturbation. Rj
  9. Even on the lowest setting there is still significant damping, not "no damping". I used mine mostly on the lowest setting but would adjust it up to 3 clicks in at times and it still shit the bed at 12K kms. I pulled it apart and had a look at rebuilding it but quickly realized what a waste of time repairing a turd would be. If anyone wants to test their damper the only real way to do it is to take it off the bike (a 30sec proceedure) and check how smooth it's operation is by hand. The new Hyperpro is excellent! Rj
  10. Or at least since post #2. Rj
  11. Free is a hard price to beat. Rj
  12. How to check sag:
  13. Very interesting that the Ducati's no longer seem to have an advantage on the straights. Stoner wasn't pulling away from the Hondas anyway... Perhaps HRC has found a way to level the playing field. Wait to see if this is still the case on a longer straight... Rj
  14. Bob, that is one very sweet Triton! In my book there is *only* one real motorcycle - and that's a pre-unit Triumph in a featherbed frame! I will build one some day when a few more projects are completed... cheers, Rj
  15. Aye, you could get the fast ones too lad! Rj
  16. I use a small bottle jack. How stable is the pedestal? My Guz fell over like the hand of god reached down and swatted it. Rj
  17. 8 piston caliper. Braking won't be an issue. Rj
  18. HelicopterJim has a centauro reg'd in BC. You'd hafta ask him how he did it. cheers, Rj
  19. 200psi?? Did I read that right? That would equate to 13.6:1 compression ratio (assuming sea level). No way the Guzzi chugger is making that kind of compression. We'd have to be running on race gas. Is this another number you've pulled out of thin air? I'd bet the stock V11 isn't even making 10:1 which is 147psi. My money's on it being in the 8.5-9:1 range. Rj
  20. What I love about Asian women is that they all have this wonderful layer of subcutaneous fat that just makes them a complete pleasure to touch. Easy to understand where China's population comes from... The truth is I'm staying single in the hopes of SOMEDAY being able to have two at once... twins, well if that ever happened I'm not sure I could go on living anymore - everything else would just be bitter disappointment... Now, what the hell was this thread about?? Oh yeah, Crooz's wife... Rj
  21. i can relate completely. I've changed from a young cynical hippie to a whiney old cynical hippie bastard. Still trying to keep a handle on the mean spirited bit... but I got some aging to do yet... Rj
  22. You can also take off the rear axle nut (which is exactly the right size) and use a wrench with it as Robbie points out. I did this a few times before deciding I'd just take off the sump when I change. Not really that much more work and gets quicker every time you do it. Rj
  23. Welfare mothers make better lovers. Amen Neil.
