  1. Probably shouldn't mention how dead simple my two old Ducs and Trumpet are when it comes to changing oil and adjusting valves... OK, the Desmo single is a bit tougher on the valve adjust... The Guzzi can be a pain in the ass, especially the first few times. Using the manhole is futile. Never did find a wrench that wouldn't slip on the oil covered filter and the "jimmy" tool required to open the manhole is ridiculous too. Certainly not as "dead simple" as WackoRatto implies. No need to jump all over Crooz if he's decided it ain't the bike for him. Rj
  2. I've often heard it said/written that if it wasn't for illegal immigrants nothing in the USA would ever get done or built. Now that is satire that rings true! This theory is flawed right off the bat. How many illegal immigrants are driving around in Cadillac Escalades? Or any motorized vehicle for that matter? Rj
  3. Asleep at the wheel? Searching for lost wiffle ball? Donut frosting finally clogged keyboard? Rj
  4. Bought direct from HyperPro. Whatever part number is listed for Guzzi V11. Came with all bits needed to install. Took 10 mins, perfect fit. Very nice part - I bought the active damper in black/gold. Love it! cheers, Rj
  5. I just received my HyperPro damper. I'm sure it would have been less hassle from you... VERY happy with it! Was running the POS Bitubo on zero setting until I discovered it had shit the bed and was screwing up my steering. Ran without a damper at all for a while and thought that was pretty good until I put the HyperPro on. Everything is noticeably much smoother now. Happy I coughed up the dough. A rear spring is in order now though... cheers, Rj
  6. VERY cool! Thanks for the insider info! cheers, Ryan
  7. Right on the money! I'll be adding a '52 BelAir soon if negotiations go well. If only I had children to sell... Rj

  14. Change the main characters to dlaing and ratchethack and it's now funny, forum relevant, and non partisan. cheers, Rj
  15. I thought I was the only one who carried a badger around. Rj
  16. Did yourheadlight connector melt too? Mine just did. Looks like thin insulated 18ga but should be 16. If it is 20 that's waaay too small. Won't know for sure until I strip it. Time to wire in some relays, larger wire and a ceramic bodied connector. Rj
  17. 2005??? Fak! I don't remember last week... Those guys in the Beatles thread who can remember 1969 obviously didn't enjoy the '70's to their full potential. Rj
  18. Well if you insist on putting the "anal" back into "analysis" don't forget that you must also calculate how much the sump has also expanded due to heat if you really must have a comparison of hot level vs. cold level. Rj

  20. How long was the break? If only 15 min, almost certainly vapour lock. Exactly what mine was doing. If I just stopped long enough to gas up it'd be fine. If it sat 15 mins - exactly the same symptoms as described. Let it sit another 30 mins and back to normal. Rj
  21. Sounds exactly like vapour lock. My '01 suffered from this until I insulated the line from tank to pump with Firesleeve. I found it at an aircraft repair shop at the airport but I've since found it at Summit Racing too. You'll need a foot of it. Cured it for me... Rj
  22. How long was it sitting? My trailer wheels will go flat or nearly flat over the course of a year. New tires/tubes/valves - just seems to be that way. Rj
  23. Along the same lines is the burlesque show we ended up at after our club ride Sat night... I love Vancouver... Rj
  24. Ditto on the dragging clutch. Installed my Pazzo's on Saturday and then went on a long club ride. Noticed both that my clutch was dragging a bit and that suddenly I was having trouble finding neutral and changing gears when at a stop. Tonight I'll be doing some adjustments. Rj
  25. Cool! I think I'm in . I see she has a link to my club's site. Thanks! Ryan
