  1. Decided to take a chance. Ordered Nelson Rigg CL 2020 tank bag and CL 950 bags all for $188.00. Will post photos when they arrive if anyone is interested. If the bags don't fit, maybe I can convince the bride that they are supposed to be worn like wester gun holsters. She normally has a good sense of humour, so I may survive.
  2. Has anyone out there tried fitting the Nelson Rigg CL-950 bags?
  3. Haven't had any luck finding any. Could you recommend a source? Thanks
  4. "The passenger" is the main reason why I need the bags.
  5. Could one of you kind fellows recommend some soft bags for the 2001 V11 Sport? Don't have to be fancy, just fit well and not require a second mortgage. A recommended source or a link to a recommended source would be appreciated.
  6. Back when I was regularly taking the Centauro wheels to the local dealer for tires, when he asked how many miles said "What? 'Busas get better mileage than that.."I personally think it's the V twin firing pulses, but I could be all wet. I tend to agree with you on the twin pulses. I also believe that the shaft drive with two universal joints (instead of cv joints) creates more tire wear than a chain drive.
  7. Congrats I'm assuming you want to keep all of the pannier stuff, but if not.... let me know. (After you overcome the shock that you just dragged another motorcycle home).
  8. Ad is down, so you did the deal?
  9. Officially we use litres and kilometres, but I still think in miles and I'm about a 10 minute walk to the 49th parallel, so familiar with the US gallon and the lower taxes. Edit. Brain fart... Yes we use litres
  10. True. I was shocked by the wide range of mileage on my V11. I thought there might be something wrong at first. In the city mileage can be quite poor, but on the open road it will return around 40mpg, which is acceptable to me. Somehow I figured that would be the case around town, especially since I'm enjoying the torque (more bottom end than Opra) and suffer from speedo creep.
  11. Yes it's the one from Squamish. Figured I'd go for the low km's rather than the others for sale locally. Also like the idea that it is bone stock. Always wanted one since way back when. A friend of mine raced a LeMans years ago and was reasonable successful with it. He showed up to lend moral support and help a cheap old bastard part with some cash. I've owned a few Ducatis in the past, from bevel drives to a 1098, so at least I have a rough idea what to expect. Did you look at the bike?
  12. The tractor seems fine so far, it's very low mileage and other than the new Chinese battery and the high beam indicator all is good. Only been for a few laps around the block though. The bride had to be reassured that the thing on the back comes off and there are passenger pegs. When I pulled the clutch in, she gave me a look of horror and said "what's that!?" I assured her it was a normal Italian characteristic, but she look sceptical. Ordered a motobatt off eBay along with a charger that has a little more grunt for the AGM. Question though.... what sort of miliage does one get per tank full if not driving like you stole it. Generally speaking, can the low fuel warning light be trusted and roughly what is left in the tank when the light comes on?
  13. Just acquired a 2001 V11 Sport this morning, so figure I should sign up in case I have any questions about this creature or need moral support. My initial impression is that it is like a tractor in a cocktail dress ( do I get banned for saying that? ) I actually like it a lot. I have ridden a few different motorcycles over the last 4+ decades and like this ones personality.
