Ducati Diavel

this is so ugly it will sell like hot cakes -
This happened yesterday, near Lyon in France. A friend was testing a 1200 Sport with two other guys on a Griso SE and a Tuono. The Griso slipped on a bad patch, got thrown in a van that was coming the other way and bounced back to its file, crashed into the Tuono. Both riders (and van driver I believe) are fine, only a sprained ankle, but the two bikes haven't survived the test ride...

Love it Now, i'm sure if they can play Star Wars with that, they have never ending gig bookings in geek conventions all over the world -
For sale in Belgium, 2002 (black engine, so you know what i mean...) electric blue Ghezzi Supertwin 1100, has always been well maintained but has also been ridden for 50.000 kms so some TLC is needed to give it back 100 % It has Ohlins at the back, Paioli 43mm at the front, racing exhausts fitted with Db killers. modifications: race camshaft Scola KS dynot jet III steering wheel damper Ohlins K&N pods It's a very beautiful and striking bike, very fast for a 2V bike, never been ridden in blind anger, done some wild chases and trackdays but never went down nor been brutalized. pictures are old, I'll hunt down some newer ones if needed. make offers before i change my mind...

Hi all, To follow up on my loud noises, it appears the connecting rod bearings on the Ghezzi are gone. Nice

Got some insurance contract i have and overlooked to pick the bike up today and bring it to the mechanic...

Dear all, i'm thinking of getting another V50 III Nato from Holland, but the one I'm looking at has no papers at all. I kind of recall there was a discussion up here about the factory opening its register for old bikes, deliver papers in some cases, and it was actually adviced to me on the MGNL forum. I tried a search here, but didn't find the thread. Does someone recall this ?

well, it's been doing that for the last month, but truth is I hardly ever ride the bike now. No, I'm not sure it's the cam chain and I will NOT look into the bike as I'm useless and even dangerous at that. It's a wizzzz noise it makes when i accelerate. I will call up the nearest Guzzi mechanic (50kms) and ask him advice. thanx for replying guys !
-
Unfortunately, I have developped the same noise these last few weeks. Is this a case for transporting the bike to the mechanics towed by a car, or am i still able to ride up there (60 kms) without fearing it will blow outside the engine ?
-
i know this isn't entirely on topic, but does anyone remember the name of that american couple who came over to Europe about 10 years ago to make a movie about Guisseppe Guzzi ? A website ? thanx.

superb ! thanx for sharing !

Being on an air cooled engine, read: a motorbike as they used to do them 'back then', and a Moto-Guzzi, one of the last legendary manufacturer, i think you're safe on most points...

Morticia Addams's bike was spotted in the Laguna Seca parking lot during the MotoGP week-end. Check up the helmet too from superbikeplanet.com.

Gene Loves Jezebel, whom I play with back in the 80's, are welsh new wave/gothic heroes i guess. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayu2XZ-mFGw

What i've heard so far sounds very good when it's sparse, vibey and intimate! With a voice like that, you gotta be careful choosing songs and i'm afraid the more "rock" tunes don't make it for me. I know when he sings faster songs and does his pelvis routine half of the women in the audience are collapsing, but it's just not happening to me Maybe he should have asked Nick Cave to write him some downtempo murder ballads, or get Chris Isaac to pen him a couple of real bad ass wet louisiana swampy delicatessen ? This is where the Cash/Rubin connection worked so well: they did some great thinking and got all the right songs and HURT, written by the amazing Trent Reznor, just nailed it. But, ultimately it's a question of taste for sure as it does sound like a good album.

Terrblanche and Galuzzi speak out
jihem replied to jihem's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Just read your comment, Scooter! Way to go Well, i met Terreblanche once, and he was really cool and easy-going, and even tho I don't like much what he did besides the Supermono he's a man with an original vision and I respect that. He comes to design with an intelligent reading of history and what's been made before him, and doesn't just paint a bike from the list of accessories it will have, but with an attitude about design that is meant to provoke toughts. Now, can you actually ride them is all the question... (The prototypes he did actually do look better in real than on pictures). -
an interesting read from the two designers. Pierre Terreblanche did the Supermono and the Classics, plus the multistrada first generation and the 749/999 while Michael Galuzzi penned the Mostro (as it was known back then). linked from Hell For Leather. No, it's not a boutique for bikers and tatoos

looks great ! bravo !

I also have my doubts with Rossi on Ducati but I think he made (or will make as it seems it's pretty much done and signed) the right move as an italian on an italian machine. I also share the concerns about Burgess and i would love to see the combination of Burgess and Presiozi, it would be dynamite. I also (shit, what happens ? ) share your pronostic on Lorenzo for this year but I see Stoner as numero uno next year. The HRC bike is obviously getting better and better and the pair Suppo-Stoner is unbeatable.

I have my infos on Stoner/Michelin and TC from a Ducati MotoGP team insider, he can be rather serious, and objective, when asked Casey was a frequent faller when on Michelin, and glued immediately with the Bridgestone, while still retaining his wild bronco style. But I'm not going to pick over what and who, this is the internet age, and I will just cross my fingers and hope Casey wins
