how to damp a racing exhaust already fitted with a DB killer ?
jihem replied to jihem's topic in Technical Topics
Altering the spark map would mean putting the bike thru a testbench and fiddling with the PCIII >>> a bit expensive for my taste and I don't think I can win 4 or 5 Db just by doing that. The cans have never been refurbished (50.000 kms) but anyhow, they are nearly open cans (racing exhausts). Changing the pointing of the nozzles wouldn't alter dramatically the sound level, and i don't want to touch the Tubi anyways...but thanx ! I was thinking more in the terms of welding something at one side of the Db killers but I don't know how hazardous that can be... -
Dear all, I have booked a trackday with my Ghezzi, but the circuit (Mettet) has strict noise levels rules: your engine can't exceed 95 db at 5000 rpm (FIM rules, with sonomoter on at 45° right hand side of the bike). Even with some DB killers fitted into my Tubi racing exhausts, I'm doing 99 db... Now, Bruno from Ghezzi-Brian hasn't got any Supertwin OEM homologated exhausts left and all I can do now, I think, is playing around with the DB killers I have. Can i add some parts to damp some more the sound ? I don't care much about loosing some HP as long as I don't burn a valve or have a bike that just cough cough every time I open the throttle. I know usually people want to make more noise while I want to make less noise

a diet has to be personalized as people all respond differently but there are some things that seem to work for most: eat more fruits and vegetable ban sugar try to ban diet drinks have a big breakfast and a light evening meal eat fish instead of meat eat organic when you can (processed food ain't good for no one) avoid ready-to-go prepared meals (like the ones you find in supermarkets) courage ! -
And there you go: RW is successfully ruining yet another thread. Reading this forum is becoming more like trying to walk where this "person" hasn't cos everywhere he goes is filled with hate and unwanted aggressivity.

Harley Davidson Creed - a short film
jihem replied to rktman1's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
There are two topics that seem to divide all motorcyclists around the globe: one is Ducati, the other one is Harley. I used to own Ducatis, and I would love to have an Harley (make mine a XR750 replica, thanx) but this video is totally besides MY point why I am a petrolhead. And, as a composer, i hate it when they put loud music below a motorcycle film. -
what about using the color scheme of the Millepercento MGS01 ? Matte green and adding delicately some white would look SPLENDID on your Monza!

Brilliant ! See you in Mettet ! Bruno keeps his number very hush-hush, but it looks like there will be two Monzas in Mettet...

as of today, only TWO places left ! Hurry !

Altho it's frankly nice and fun, is there a link between the personnal feeling I have that the jazz form they play is as unexciting as the bikes they ride (and vice versa) ? What would a bunch of cool cats on Guzzis sound like ?

There's going to be a 95 Db limit for noise regulations. Better put on the OEM exhausts or DB killers...

hey Richard, what is the show going to be ?

Eeerrr! I need a bigger Garage.

maybe a wide lens would provide a cheaper alternative to getting a bigger garage ? -

You mean Pocahontas meets Pigs In Space ? great imagery, poor scenario, real GI Joe/boys with big guns fascination... -
Very cool indeed JC ! I'm looking forward to see your bike on its favorite hunting ground. The Nato. Hmmm. Why not ?
-
it's anti-clockwise (always interesting) and they even did a small cork screw like corner (don't laugh at the positions on the bikes, this was a preliminary test of the circuit by Stephane Mertens (once a WSBK champ) with t° very near icing...)

Wondering really. All crowds believe they have The Enlightment. This said, we can hardly say that riding a Guzzi is really fashionable or a proof of success in Life ("si tu n'as pas une Rolex à 50 ans, t'as raté ta vie" dixit some stupid french advertising tycoon) so the MG crowd must be really true to the genuine love of its motorcycle of choice...

registered thanx for the wonderful opportunity !

what an amazing character he seemed to be ! thanx for posting. i do question myself reading it: is the Guzzi crowd really different from the other m'cycle crowds ? I guess so.

cool indeed ! was it new ? (for those not in the known of such frivolious and niche details, a Folgore is a buffed-up Supertwin with race exhausts and associated eprom, OZ wheels, probably the special dashboard and a Ohlins shock at the back) -

that much ? I am surprised ! But then again mine has done 50.000 kms and can't surely be seen as a pristine model no more -

I'm not surprised. Whenever you seem them beauty popping up here and there, the owners are always hoping for too high. It's a great bike to ride and beautiful to look at, but it's not a safe high return investment (yet ?) (for all i care). -

Hi Steve, do you mean the fiberglass work ? If so Airtech does it. I don't know how you could fit that on a Guzzi frame tho. Now, Bruno does a Monza kit which looks great, and is to be fitted on a V11. -

one doesn't see it on the picture above, but the pictures on Ebay show it well: this bike's paint scheme seem to have been inspired from the Ghezzi-Zebulon 4 valves JMM had built.
