Alain Bashing is being buried today, in Paris. Most of you may not know him, but Alain Bashung has left his print on (french) rock music as much as Serge Gainsbourg left his on pop. He was a true legend, very gentle and mysterious, a kind of cross between Scott Walker and Johnny Cash, dark, somber, intuitive and intelligent. His lyrics were incredible, poetic but not eau-de-rose and his music was often adventurous and bold and mixing many elements from different sides of music. I had the chance to meet him, to work with him, and today is indeed a sad day, only brighten by the fact that at least he's not suffering no more. He'd been battling for two years, even recording an album and touring while having chimio, but it finally got to him. Two weeks previous to his death, he won three Victoires de la Musique, the most important french music awards. Godspeed Alain.

I've been wanting a V50 for years, for town use or small two up trips, and two models are popping up right now around Brussels, so i wonder if I'll do the jump and get one... The first one is a straight 1979 V50 while the second one is very cool indeed: a 80'ssomething V50 Nato model. The Dutch army ordered some back in the eighties and I think it looks great: kinda legit ratbike But i know nothing about small blocks. Does anyone around here have some insights about reliability, weak points, strong points ? thanx !!!

I did a Tour de France on the Ghezzi: 3.500 kms in 5 days. no tools. no worries either.

exhilirating video, thanx ! -
He probably has come down to terms with the fact that, in that sh*t hole called show business, you're only as good as the last hit you had and no-one (unfortunately) considers art as an excuse no more...So, you may as well do a little on the side and get a Prius But for me, someone who did classic albums like "The Idiot" or "Lust For Life" can do whatever he wants with his life, he has fulfilled his duty as an artist. http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/inter...ref=videosearch

15 HP more than the original twin, more torque and 2500 rpm more (and it's about 30 HP more than the legendary Supermono). sheer enthusiasm and desire to boldly go where only few have gone before. 40 seems to be a reasonable number when you can see the Ducati D16RR sold 1500 copies. now, we have to wait and see if he does sell them, sure. But what an exciting adventure !

Bart Crauwels is quite well known in the Ducati world as he had on the market a clutch kit devised to replace the 2 valvers clutches that really weren't never up to the job. He also had a famous italian motorbikes shop called Motomania. He's recently been applying his talents in developing a (racetrack only) compressed 498cc monocylinder bike out of a 1000 DS (two valves air cooled Ducati engine) with a special twist: the rear cylinder would be used a a compressor. I've seen it being tested on the road, it sounds like a big twin morphed with a chaisaw screamer: unbelievable ! This still-in-proto-look monocylinder makes now 102 rearwheel HP and sustains 10.000 rpm without damages. don't ask me, ask Bart. Only 40 of these machines will be produced starting mid-year.

It was about - 2° celsius yesterday and I always take my bike out for a small ride to Brussels downtown: it's a mandatory motorised welcome to the new year for me Now, the Barber museum has a Supertwin, can't blame that, but can someone explain to me WHY a purple's swingarm ? Gee...Beauty is in the eye of the non-colorblind beholder

A friend of mine did this little gem about 10 years ago: NITRO NICKY, Queen Of Speed It plays around with some of rock n roll obsessions on sex, drugs, motors and Barbarella Enjoy

I kinda agree, altho you cannot rule out Kurt Cobain (and the huge impact Nirvana/ grunge) had on the early 90's music scene), Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr Bungle,...) and Al Jourgensen (Ministry, Revolting Cocks). -
No, the Supertwin is a different motobike than the Monza as it uses the Ghezzi-Brian frame, GB swingarm, Braking perimetrical brakes and the 5 speed gearbox of the ol' 1100 Sport plus, apparently, the cam from the EV... The Monza is a KIT you put on a V11 and as such it retains all motor characteristics of the V11 and it has the following: - Body and front fairing - Front/rear frames - Seat - Lights - Aluminium gasoline tank and pump - Belly pan - Digital dashboard (optional) Various options available. - Paioli fork ø 41 - Mupo fork ø 43 or 46 - Mupo monoshock-absorber - Braking system with Brembo radial calipers - Stearing plates with setting trail - Forged aluminium or magnesium rims - Aluminium swivel arm - Aluminium push rod with uniball
-
the Monza is a kit you adapt on a V11: it has the 6 speed gearbox of the V11...
-
the Sport Monza is a more sporty oriented kit they have and as such could be considered as a kinda Supertwin kit, yes.

message from Bruno: kit is: -body fairing -front fairing -front/rear frames -seat -lights -gaoline tank and pump -belly pan The parts cannot be sold separatly, unless the front fairing and lights (euro 630,00 ) and belly pan ( euro 250,00 ), as usually. Optional : exhaust euro 790,00 , push rod euro 85,00

all I know so far is: it's available and it costs 4.000 € including VAT and transport costs (global or Europe only ? ). I'm waiting for the price of each separated part but would you be interested, don't hesitate, send a mail to Bruno
