Probably better than the Blarney Stone! Here I was thinking that the Stone was an adequate substitute for a 10mm wrench!

Aha...I completely missed the pun...good one! At least I have a heat gun...middle of winter here in Texas...a freezing 55F...should be good enough for a valve adjustment!

How exactly does the rock get used in the Valve Adjustment? Seems I'm missing that tool in my toolbox! Funny to read this read, I was just thinking about tightening up the valves a bit as they're a bit too clattery for my taste...have been running them loose now for a couple of years...but I do like the sound of a quieter engine.

I saw a Guardia d'Onore model in the Encinitas showroom back in July. Quite a good looking bike indeed. Doesn't seem as "wide" visually as a Stelvio with the rear bags, very purposeful. I'd be tempted to try one out, but I'm out of room in the garage...4 bikes and I can't even contemplate getting rid of any of them. Yours is setup quite nicely!

Truly a thriller to watch....until Marc crashed...but man, Peco and Jorge were really racing at an amazing level. What a great race to watch and a tremendous come back for Peco compared to the Sprint fiasco.

Having seen your posts on FB on the same topic, I would say, don't be cheap...fight your natural tendency to "cheapness"...even if at times it's a Guzzi quality characteristic. If you have time to do it wrong and fix it 3 times, do it right once and pay a fair price.

2024 Galveston Lone Star Rally - Till November 3rd -
PJPR01 replied to p6x's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
Looks like a Sturgis on steroids...about 400,000 people showing up. I have never been, even though it's only 1.5 hours away...I might be interested in seeing 0.01% of the actual bikes there...not my cup of tea. I have been to smaller rallies or bike nights (Wednesday night on Beale Street in Memphis for example) and you see some amazing custom bikes...but it's only a few hundred people, not 1000's. Unfortunately the ride down is not that interesting either...all freeway...not even that exciting a ride. -
Tuk Tuk's are now very popular in Mexico too....of course also in India (Auto Rickshaw is what they call it...at least in Bangalore). I think it would be cool to have one...far cooler than a regular golf cart to go around the neighborhood or get a coffee or to the local ice cream parlor. P6X...are you going to buy the one in Dallas?

I was tempted to go...just back from 10 days in Italy with the family, but unfortunately I have commitments all day Saturday. The ride out there is thru some very nice scenery...hopping over to Louisiana over the Taylor Bend reservoir is a very nice ride indeed! The weather is absolutely superb...I hope to get out on Sunday for a nice long ride...

...with an unexpected outcome given the rather unusual start as well. That has to be a record...coming from last to first against 2 super stars.

I have the Moto GP app on Apple TV…there is also a good 6 minute summary on YouTube…you can find the Moto GP channel and it will show highlights of the races and sprints and other interesting tidbits. I’m not sure if there are any other sources to see the whole race besides the MotoGP app on AppleTV

Well well...another great race! Won't spoil the outcome for those who have not seen it yet! Nice to see the Big 3 fighting tooth and nail to the end.

In a way similar to Harvey here, tons of inches of rain, all cascading down mountain valleys...end results of floods. Remember Houston had 60 inches of rain with Harvey spread out over a relatively flat area...the Carolinas in some spots got 30 inches of rain in mountain valleys...horrific flooding/momentum of the water washing structures and roads away as if they were toothpicks. Just awful.

Incredibly sad to see the destruction, loss of life and the scale of damage to such beautiful areas. Hopefully over time it can all be rebuilt again!

A couple weeks ago, while riding the Grand Tour and listening to The Highwaymen while out on the road, I visited the town where Waylon Jennings was born, even has a street named after him! It's a real pity to see now that Willie Nelson is the last of the Highwaymen to be still standing. Kris's first daughter Tracy went to my High School in Palo Alto...a beautiful girl then, and still today. Anyway, in the spirit of emotion and reminiscing, I leave you with another song that entertained me during my 2000 mile journey thru Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and back home from Greg Allman and All My Friends album. Enjoy the harmonies and camaraderie on stage!

I don't think Oil is backwards compatible...the Calvin being younger than the LeMans...I would stick with the original manual recommendation. But you live in a colder climate, so it would take a lot of abuse of the engine to really do any major damage. Maybe try 1 oil change and see if the bike behaves oddly...if so, kindly donate the remaining to the V11 Lemans trust fund...someone will take it off your hands. Chuck may fly up there in his airplane to pick it up...but if not, I'm sure one of us passing thru Colorado one day might pick it up! Post some pics of the "new" bike on one of the beautiful Colorado passes...maybe Rabbit Ears descending into Steamboat for example!
